  1. R33 Series II Sedans have turning lights between the main headlights and the parking lights. These are pretty cool and come on when you have the headlights on and turn on the indicators - only the light on the same side as the flashing indicator comes on. I have never seen a Series II coupe with sedan headlights because the radiator support panel is different between sedans and coups in Series II. Coups have two H1 lights and sedans have one H4 and the back of the headlights are totally different and not interchangeable. This would imply that the car has had frontal damage at some time in the past and they have repaired it with sedan parts. I would not worry about trying to make this light work because it is not required for rego and your coupe does not have the supporting wiring harness.
  2. It looks like a nice club level hill climb that I am sure could attract more entries if it was publicised more among CAMS affiliated clubs. I like the simple class regs as my car would fit nicely in Type 3 without having to compete in Type 4 as some clubs require. When my car is running again I would not mind giving it a go later in the year.
  3. In the navigators seat I can send a text message on my phone but that is about all I can do without the need to see the horizon and where I am going to feel well. It may have something to do with how well you are secured in the car. I always feel much better when I am in a race seat where I cannot move and have a 6 point harness on. You then feel like you are driving a go kart where you feel everything that the car is doing without being thrown around in the car.
  4. This guy had more money then sense. A previous owner had painted the wing blade body colour so to return the car to stock as a genuine R33 N1 he paid the money to Nissan for the genuine item. I then had it painted silver to match my car and I would suggest that the paint weighs about as much as the wing blade - in true N1 form it is simply that light.
  5. $1,200 for a Nismo carbon fibre wing blade is cheap. Nissan want $4,200 for a genuine carbon N1 wing blade for a R33 - I just happen to have one after a guy purchased a brand new one from Nissan for his N1.
  6. Please add Clinton and me to the list.
  7. R33 grills are always a talking point in Series II's My sedan has my coupe grill My coupe has the mesh Nismo grill And our track coupe has a sedan grille painted in body colour
  8. Hi Richard I have only just put 350Z rims on the R33 sedan and have not had a chance to take any pictures of it. They are 18 x 8 with a 30 offset so they are both legal and fill the guards well. Here is a picture of another SAU member's car from Qld who I got the idea from for the 350Z wheels.
  9. The manual gearbox comes with a speed sensor that is designed to run with a 4.1 diff and your auto diff is 4.3 and this would be causing the speedo to over register. A N/A r33 runs a 4.3 diff so would a speed sensor from a manual N/A gearbox solve your problem.
  10. This is really common on Skylines where people try to jack them on the sump instead of the cross member - I have seen sumps in worse condition.
  11. One of the SAU Traders Halfod Motors has new BM57 (e.g. 17/16 bore) master cylinders in 2 and 3 port models for $149 and $139 delivered free. This is much cheaper than buying a second hand one and then trying to get a kit to recondition it
  12. When you say 330 km to a tank how many litres of fuel are you using to fill it up? To compare fuel economy you need to be talking about litres per 100 km so you can compare apples to apples. Your driving style and the break up of city and highway driving also impacts fuel economy. In my R33 GTR the best I can expect is about 15 litres / 100 km and this quickly drops to around 22 or 23 if you give it a bit.
  13. What let go to create "exit wounds" like that?
  14. Where did you get them? How much for the 255s? I picked them up from a guy who ran them on a Silvia in Time Attack - so even though they were on a high horsepower car they had not had a lot of use or heat cycles.
  15. Hey Chubbs I have found some for you for $225 each at International Tyre Trader Here is the page that they are on http://www.tyretrader.com.au/index.php?route=product/search&filter_tyrewidth=195&filter_tyreratio=50&filter_tyrediameter=15&sort=pd.name At that price you would have to check the build date because they sound cheap
  16. I cannot believe that they still make wheels small enough to put a 195/50/15 on. We have been very happy with the performance of Kumho V70a's on our R33 to the point that we have just purchased another set in 255/45/17 and 275/40/17 - just what you need for the MX5.
  17. It was good to meet you Mazman and share some shade so we did not get sunburnt like Chris. Your Supra was very well presented and made an unreal sound when it came on boost but like you say 24 pound is serious boost and a lot of power to try and put down through two wheels.
  18. I only have Series II rear panels at the moment so I cannot check but I am of the opinion that the letters on a Series I are moulded into the clear plastic panel and then covered in silver/chrome paint. I do not think that you can simply replace the letters. Examine it closer to see if I am correct.
  19. Hey Chris I didn't realise that you were going that fast - she sure looks nice on the road.
  20. Hi Chris It was good to catch up with you at Huntley yesterday, sorry we could not spend more time with you but our Skyline mates had shade and it was just too hot out in the sun.
  21. I have a 80 mm ID Stainless Exhaust with a 4.5 inch exhaust tip for R33 GTS-T or R33 GTR for sale for $300 . It is in very good condition and I will include a new flange gasket for the join between the muffler and the pipe. This would suite someone who is after a new exhaust because it's condition is that good The only problem is some very minor scratches on the underside of the middle hot dog muffler. I am located in Wollongong but I am in Sydney at some time most weeks so I could assist with delivery. Please contact me by PM if you are interested
  22. I have a Toolex Aluminium Racing Hydraulic Trolley Jack that you can have for $120. I purchased it from Gasweld for $295 on special and it is in good condition as the following pictures show. Due to its light weight it is easy to transport to the track in your car. Give me a PM if you are interested (I will be in Sydney on Saturday so I may be able to assist with delivery)
  23. Now that you have the manifold off it would be a good time to check and replace all of those small water hoses as it is a pain to be chasing a water leak with the manifold in place. You can pick up a complete silicon hose kit for less than $100 so it is not a great outlay.
  24. As a GTT I assume that the car has ABS. There are bleed nipples on the master cylinder and on the ABS Unit that also have to be bled. I found this out on my GTR - bled the brakes and there was still air in the lines and the brakes were spongy big time. The fact that it is not a consistent problem is a concern - one of my cars had a dodge bleed nipple on a rear calliper that would leak some times and at other times be fine. I would be getting a second opinion from a brake specialist who I could trust.
  25. I paid $1,000 for the last set of R33 GTR seats that I purchased that were in perfect condition. The thing is that these seats are now getting old and harder to find in good condition (there are a lot of stuffed ones out there) so I would expect the price to stay the same or even increase slightly.
