I am afraid that you are incorrect with your first guess and I would love to have a street car like that. What I can say is that it has a factory thirty two valve quad cam V8 and is a two wheel drive. And no it is not a Kelly brothers Altima or a V8 Patrol but it does have a Nissan V8 motor from the same family.

Sounds like a great opportunity to give our new Nissan toy an outing. I bet that no one will have any idea what it is.

MLR's 86 not a build thread thread
Victory replied to The Bogan's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
I am sorry but I still cannot believe that an 86 can turn a 235 tyre........ -
This is very sad news indeed. In 2005 I purchased my GTR and I joined SAU not long after. This was my first introduction to Nick as he assisted me through the membership process and started my friendship with him. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Nick and he was always there with advice whenever it was needed. In addition to all of the cruises and SAU events that we attended with Nick he will always be remembered for his green Stagea. So much so that I also purchased a C34 Stagea and then spent two years finding a set of the same Nissan wheels as Nick had on his to put on mine. The picture below is of Nick and Clinton at the drags. Clinton is just sitting there smoking up the tyres going nowhere while Nick has just put the power down and is off down the strip for the win. This is a sad time and I am honoured to be able to say that Nick was my friend and I will miss him.

MLR's 86 not a build thread thread

Sorry Mark I know that I should not say this but I love 86 drivers and I have been following your thread since day one enjoying the discussion. Whenever I pull up at the lights next to an 86 in a Skyline or even my Stagea they seem very intimidated as soon as they hear the RB rumble next to them. It is very amusing when I am in one of my 28 year old Mazda 626 daily's. 86 drivers are then very interested until they see me leave them in my wake as the old 626 does a great 60 foot time. The 86 is like a Mazda MX5 - a great little nimble handling fun car. They were never meant to be a real performance car and they should be enjoyed for what they are. -

Maybe I am showing my age but I ran that style of rear window louvre on coupes, sedans and hatchbacks during the 70's and 80's. During hot weather in coupes they reduce cabin temps a lot especially if your car has a large flat rear window. Styling wise it comes down to the specific car - some looked good but most cars looked average. The Mach I Mustangs had them made from aluminium instead of plastic and they looked great. Enough rambling for one day. And if you are really desperate I have one of the white ones still in one of our parts cars in the back yard..... -
That is my point - if you go for Series II coupe headlights like the picture above they are a plug and play for a Series I.

I have converted an R33 coupe from a Series 1 to a Series 2 by replacing the bonnet, lights, grill and front bar. It was a simple swap over of parts. To convert a Series 1 sedan to a Series 2 sedan is more involved because the Series 2 sedan uses headlights that are different to every other R33. The Series 2 sedan has a different radiator support panel, H4 instead of H1 headlights with different wiring and side lights between the headlight and the parking light that turn on when you use the indicators when your headlights are on. Welcome to the world of Camry shaped Skylines.

Nice to see that you are back in a GTR. What happened to the EVO - couldn't you cope with the product in your hair and the gayness? -
I had to replace the fuel cap and reseal the fuel neck restrictor before I completely fixed the fuel leaking issue on our track car.

Really I am just pleased that Nissan are continuing to support our cars.

I would also suggest that the residue is from using tap water instead of distilled water in the coolant. A couple of flushes of the system should go a long way towards removing those mineral deposits from the system.
-
And this would have nothing to do with the 25 year rule in the USA and Nissan wanting to cash in on this new market. Factory parts plus GTR tax plus Nismo tax equals great profit margin for Nissan.

[VIC] WTB R33 SII Headlights to suit 1997 GTST Coupe
Victory replied to mercyseat's topic in Wanted to Buy
Just Jap also have them for $700 each. http://justjap.com/body/exterior/genuine-nissan-head-light-assembly-nissan-skyline-ecr33-series-ii.html http://justjap.com/body/exterior/genuine-nissan-head-light-assembly-nissan-skyline-ecr33-series-ii-26060-27u25.html The last time that I priced them from Nissan I think they wanted $1,200 each for them. They are getting hard to find second hand in good condition and if you do locate some expect the price to reflect the new price. -
The GTR is not slow in a straight line by any means - go Nissan

SAU NSW 2016 End Of Year Putty Road Cruise 18th Dec

It would not be Christmas without a SAU Putty Road cruise. Please add me to the list. -
What they even pay you to go motor racing. This is what happens when you drive a real car like a Skyline that has soul and not a cheater car like some people...
