  1. haha yeah seems to work. we ive got quite a lot of work ahead of me to get the car ready for G1 coming up... got to change the clutch with anoither new one, make sure thats all sweet, then remap and full dyno tune, wheel alignment, and fix up a couple of suspension issues lol. fun times.
  2. haha its really not that hard to wire up... once i had an idea of what i needed to wire up it only took me an hour and a half to do it all, and it ran first go.
  3. sorry mate i forgot to get back to you with wiring info. anyway heres what i did... it may or maynot help you. 1) Cut the plug off the rb20 loom where it plugs into the body loom near the pass side strut tower, if you car is factory manual you'll only have one plug if it was auto then you'll have two, the 2nd plug for the auto is not needed, i chopped mine out and discarded it. 2) the plug needs to be soldered into the R33 loom in the same location, theres a similar plug already there but the pin outs are different, theres a white/purple (constant 12V) and a white/black wire (switched ignition 12v) which you'll use to power up various things. Now in the RB25 loom where you've cut off the plug to solder on the rb20 plug, theres a grey wire which is the injector feed, needs to be wired into the white/black. 3) run several wires from the plug down the loom and to the SMJ plug (big white plug) here you need to power up two wires, a constant and a switched igniton scource soo in summary R33---------------------------R32 Black/Red---------------->White/Purple Red------------------------>Black/Red Black/White-------------->White/Black. (has the grey injector wire also attached to it.) look at pin outs to find the wires to power up on the ecu, then trace the pin out wire to the SMJ plug, cut from the smj plug and power them up. then, you need to hook up fuel pump, coolant temp wire, tacho, speedo wire and wipers. From mem on the R32 loom On the R32 under dash loom there are two plugs. The colours are similar.. you need to use the ones on the smaller or the two. 14pin. The other has 18. R33----------------------------R32 Blue/Black ---------------->Blue/Black. Water Temp. ( you also need to use the RB25DET engine sender. (single wire) Yellow/Blue---------------->Yellow/Red. Tacho Black/Pink------------------>Black/Pink. Fuel pump.
  4. FWIW i bought a complete RB25det package, with motor loom, ecu, tailshaft, loom, and everything i needed, including some rb20 engine mounts (mine were busted) for $3500 and it came out of the most mint half cut ive seen, this car was stock as a rock and the engine bay was so tidy and clean. so i bought it there and then after seeing it, was from japanese motorsports and its been in the car and running with not a single fault with it! so yeah you can find good motors!
  5. if its a non VVT Rb25de then yes you can use the loom on the rb20det.. will be the same, however its it has VVT then you will need the loom to suit an RB20det. Use a stock RB20 crossmember for the box.. will bolt straight up `
  6. adjust the pushrod on the peddle for the master, you need to make it longer i believe
  7. nah i havent ran semi's ate a grip event but my car has been used for drift, big arse scando flicks are 200 kph on back straight of mallala do generate a fair wack of G forces also... gets the oil flowing and since this is mostly on the limiter you would expect a fair wack of oil flowing... However i have never had a catch can on my rb20, and not had any probs. got a 25 now, and plan on doing some grip times with slicks so we'll see how the oil probs go...
  8. ive never ever ever had an oil control issue, fill to stock levels and had several turbos on rb20's over the years an dhave done more laps on a track then most here... showza will vouch for that. I really believe that oil controll issues are limited to the RB26 only... the 20 takes a real beating on the track thats for sure!
  9. he should.. just give me time to sort the finer details out
  10. mate if you just do the grip stuff you'll still have a ball. you'll have the whole day so in the drift session you get ti have a break and so does the car. facilities wont be available i doubt, not even sheds i will try and arrange at least ONE shed so we all have access to power and so on. also, there will be a record of drivers attending so this means giving up your ph number and licence details to clem, Basically means you cannot in any way be a dickhead on the track otherwise it will come back and bite you on the arse!
  11. as do i.... i told ya showza, this guy is taking the easy option out by saying oil starvation and then washing his hands of it... however i HIGHLY doubt that you have an oil related problem as you were running the 25 turbo for ages with no dramas, along weith the current 25 turbo with no drama;.. so i think that the rebuild itself is of questionable quality...

  13. pressure plate is the wrong one, doesnt clamp enough at all! getting another one so should be fine
  14. I doubt i could arrange a tyre fitter to be out there during a week day... so really its a case of run what you brung... Best bet is to rope in a couple of mates to come out also and carry some borrowed rims with grip and drift rubber. Having a bit of a drama trying to secure a date with clem atm... he's really unsure about hiring it out for private drift days due to the past actions of a select few people (cough JMS drift days back in 2002) so he's still a bit bitter about that. nevertheless, i'll try and make it happen soon! Really dont want to hire out AIR... its so so shit... (the surface, layout is cool)
  15. i was saying if you already have L2NS you can probably get into contact with CAMS and upgrade to L2S.. However i dont think its a requirement at this stage. Cheers Simon
  16. First up, it will not be before G1.. prob a month after it.. gives people a chance to save up, get time off work (it will be a weekday) etc etc. as for license, 2NS should be fine, i will double check, however its another 40 on top to get the L2S i believe. But since its a private prac you may not need it. As for car clubs, Sporting Car Club SA (SCCSA) does membership for 35 bucks PA, thats who im with and it works for me
  17. Ive got two perfect new condition Jackets complete with team logo's from the era for sale, They are both in a large size and are from the first ever 1986 Adelaide Grand Prix (first held in aust also) They have been in storage all this time and never worn! Pics as attached. Unsure of price really, but they were $40 each at the time.. which was over 20 years ago lol... So Asking $150 for the pair + postage... Located in Adelaide, can post aust wide. Contact via email [email protected] Cheers Simon
  18. its not a copy, but rather an exedy disk and seco pressure plate....seco being owned by exedy, so technically its all the same.
  19. slower speeds, lot more corners but fun nevertheless!
  20. Spoken with clem and i'm getting the ball rolling, You guys are on the money tho i think i will organise both drift and grip in the one day with split session, I plan on taking out plenty of brand new rubber out to ensure that the car slides all day long. I have a few mates who are in the beginner boat and they will learn a hell of a lot more from doing consistant laps rather then do a lap and wait 20 mins before you can do another one... I would much prefer to cap this to a limited amount of people.. that way everyone is guarenteed track time, even if it does cost a little bit more.. i know i rather pay 20 bucks more if i get to do constant laps.. mr rbman: yeah it will be be more expensive then a regular prac session however you'll have more track time, less waiting around doing nothing and so on... requirement at this stage is that everyone needs to have a L2S Cams licence and be a member of a car club...
  21. alright, doesnt look like i'll have any trouble getting the numbers. so i'll see what i can organise and get back to you all. I was thinking of running mostly a drift day with some grip sessions thrown in for those who like a bit of both (showza)
  22. looks mint! what year model is it?
  23. yeah i'm looking to do a bit of both drift and grip prac, so drifting at an open prac session will see me thrown out quicker then a drunk hooker in a posh restaurant! i realise that people will say that they want to and then change their minds. hence why i'd be looking at taking a deposit, or payment in ful.. something like that anyway.
  24. it fits, my ceffy had GTR bars all round
  25. talking about getting a group of people together to hire it out for prac
