  1. YEAH!!! another Nikon user! Very nice system that you have there, I take it that you are not worried about the gap between the 24mm and the 70mm being only covered by the 50?
  2. Very nice lens, I use one on my D3.
  3. The chassis itself might be similar, but the suspension, aero (massive rear diffuser, different bodywork) and wheels (15" with Michelin tyres compared to 13" with Bridgestones) are all very different.
  4. Some of the newer cameras use a UV flash in daylight and lower light conditions as this brings out the reflectivity of the number plates, so it may have gone off, but you will not see it.

It's not Red Bulls fault that they can design a wing that will generate higher loads in use than the FIA tests for in the static tests, is it?
  6. Most torque wrenches are designed for tightening use only, loading them to loosen a frozen nut will cause a loss of calibration. Use a breaker bar instead, that is what they are made for.

Webber's still ahead of vetool according to the FIA as he has more wins this season.
  8. 5Kg to do the car, 15 to cool the beers for after.
  9. All that PI supplies is the track for the basic hire, marshals, equipment, timing, medical, recovery, food, insurance, etc. are all extra expenses to be had on top of the basic hire of a facility. You will have to prove that you have a $20,000,000.00 public liability insurance policy that covers a motorsport event in place before you can hire the circuit (if they have a free weekend, and with the MotoGP and PI500 coming up they will not have many available)
  10. Nothing like a bit of a brake test by the porsche driver exiting that final corner as well.
  11. If there are no joins in the cabin, then there should be no issues from scrutineering. The reason that Aluminium and SS are advised against is that they become work hardened from the constant vibration present in the car, this leads to fatigue cracking and failure of the pipework.
  12. A mate of mines wife had one of those Disco's as her company car, used the same amount of fuel when being daily driven (she also tended to do about 300~400k's a day) so she was very happy to have a fuel card from work. They also used it to tow her horse float, and then it went out to around 30l/100k on the freeway, and more on rural roads. With the SWB Pajero, do not tow with them, the lack of wheelbase (applies to any other SWB vehicle) makes then very susceptible to snaking and instability. My uncle had one that he used to tow a caravan from Perth to Melbourne, when he got here, the first thing he did was sell the car and get a LWB Pajero. Every time a side wind or a truck went past, the trailer started to wag the car. I have also used a SWB Landcruiser (Bundera) to tow my STi, and that too was very unstable, especially under braking. A rule of thumb that I have been told by the guy that I bought my current trailer from is that the distance between the front wheels and tow ball on the tow car should be longer than the distance between the tow hitch and the centre line of the front and rear wheel sets on the trailer, this makes the car have a lower polar moment than the trailer, and it can then stabilise the trailers motion.
  13. Just for hobby work at the moment.

  19. You need a set of these Irwin tools bolt extractors, Bunnings will usually have them, and a set costs around $45. Edit: Too slow!
  20. IMO they are a waste of money, and have limitations/distortions/vignetting caused by the imbalance between the lens and the add on.
  21. Same idiots that delayed the anti suicide barriers on the West Gate and Bolte bridges.

SebVet not looking happy at all!
  23. Do you want to know who to blame for the leniency in the courts nowadays? Look no further than here, this prick has stacked the courts with as many civil libertarians (also known as let the crims off lawyers) and other like minded fools, that the concerns and wishes of the general public for fair and effective punishment for wrongdoing has ceased to exist.
  24. As Roy said Snowy, try decreasing the front rebound rates (ie, slow down the rate of rebound) and see if that makes a difference.
