  1. If it has a speedo anywhere near the same accuracy as my wife's Volvo, then you were only doing 150 at the most...
  2. Having spent the past weekend at Wakefield, I'll give it another go (if there isn't a national round on the same time) the total drive time from my place (Yarra Valley) to Goulburn via the ring road and Hume was just over 6 and a half hours, and about 750k's all up. For most of the way there you sit on 110 kp/h. I recommend the "Paragon Cafe" for food as well, good food and reasonable pricing.
  3. It's one way of getting rear tyre temp...
  4. Paul, If you have any photo's of the car, the guys at Meridian Motorsport would appreciate it if they could see them so that they can evaluate what worked/didn't work with the cage.
  5. There is usually a statue of limitations as to how long after an event occurred a person can still claim for, it's usually one year and one day, but it might be different. Definitely talk to your insurers, it will be interesting to find out if the other parties lawyers have even approached your insurer.
  6. Hmm, my new GoPro arrived at the post office just before from TuSpeed, I wonder which version I'll get?
  7. Mostly to reduce the amount of effort required to steer the cars.
  8. Martin and David are going on about how innocent Kobyashi was in the first corner incident, when he was involved in the initial contact that caused Liuzzi to be sideways in the grass.
  9. Enforced summer break so that the staff on the teams have a chance to take a break and spend time away from work.
  10. FIA random substance test for vettel please.
  11. Incorrect radius for the rear wings.
  12. Mattr - There is a rule on it, the compound has to be the same front and rear. GTR fan - You will be waiting a long time for the 4 cylinder engines, they are now going to be V6's. Marlin - I agree with the dice between the three, SV should be forced to sit down and watch that as an example of how to drive in traffic.
  13. At least Mark led that lap...
  14. Vetool just can't cope if he isn't in the lead of the race.
  15. Sounds more like a pirated signal off of a Asian TV Satellite.
  16. Interesting article on the possible reason for RBR's difference in pace between qualifying and the race. F1 Times
  17. Your stuck with your 30 hr rebuilds no matter what happens (unless you buzz the engine and get a yellow dash light) so whilst running the pre heater might save you somewhere around 30min of total run time over that period of time, if you are that concerned then you are going to have to manually move the car from the pits to dummy grid, shut down on the grid, etc. From what I have seen, the rebuild times might be on the short side for the engines in the Radicals, The engine in the Speads has done more than that with no lose of performance or cylinder pressures.
  18. None of the Radical guys (or any of the others) used them at Adelaide or Wakefield (where the temps got below zero overnight), all that it took in the mornings was start the car and let it run for a coupe of minutes. You are usually doing a walk around of the car at the time, checking for leaks or any other issues with the car.
  19. I would not bother with it Dane, every one that I have dealt with has been up to operating temp within 2~3 minutes of idling time, even less if it is moving with a bit of load on. The amount of time and energy spent setting one of these units up (with the attendant risks of leakage) is not worth the possible savings in rebuilds. That system also appears to only do the coolant, and not the oil, where the oil is the more important fluid to get to temp quickly.
  20. Autobarn, Burson, Repco, Supercheap, etc. I think that they are usually around $40 a set, I haven't needed to buy a new set for a while, so I am probably wrong on that price.
  21. Make sure that they are not a specific construction to cope with the "unique" layout of the Porsche Cup Cars, I am aware that the euro series do have their own spec Michelins, I'm not sure if it is the same here.
  22. $8500, complete with a number of storage compartments and benches internally, 4 wheel electric brakes with breakaway system, new tyres and wheel bearings, 240v internal lighting, 50l water tank and a 20m retractable airline. It is also internally beaver tailed, to make the loading height lower.
