    Adsl2+ Speeds

I used to have Bigpond cable, I was the first person on my local segment so I had the full bandwidth available. The only trouble was that back when I got it (mid 90's) there was no way near the content available on the internet as there is now. Probably lucky as iirc, I had what would be considered today a quite small download limit of around 1Gb.
  2. Without knowing the full specs of the dash, it is hard to put a price on it. have a look at the Motec website as I believe that there is a way that you can find out exactly how the dash is configured using the serial number of the unit. IIRC, you have to email the number to a certain address.
  3. Personally, I would use a strip of mild steel (1020 to 1045 grade) rather than the recycled beer cans that you get from Bunnings. The alloy that is sold by Bunnings is non structural and has a very low tensile strength and fatigue resistance. If you want to use an alloy, then go to a supplier of Aluminium and get an offcut strip of either 2000 or (preferably) 5000 or 6000 grade. These will give you the weight savings, as well as the tensile strength and fatigue resistance that is needed.
  4. I'm actually in that video, not doing anything wrong, he actually compliments me.
  5. What sort of costs are being accrued with this? I have always considered that it would be a good way of getting the car around to races, but just haven't have the time or money to do it. Do you need to replace the motor/transmission as well?

    Dl1

I've been using them for a number of years now, and have not had any issues with them. My current setup is a DL1 (6G,Gyro, 20Hz GPS), Dash3 and Video4. I have also used the Dash2 in a prior car, and would have used it in the current car but it would not fit properly.
  7. Just changed the settings for my profile, lets see if it works.
  8. Are they on the Pirelli's yet?

    2010 F1 Season

It's hard to lock the brakes on a car when both brake circuits have been destroyed, as appears to be the case with Marks car.
  10. I can't stand these little tinpot dictatorships that masquerade as local councils, they seem hellbent on doing everything possible to annoy their residents.
  11. 1990's had global cooling at the start of it, as well as follow ups from the Chernobyl incident and HIV, and then was topped of by the so called millennium bug.
  12. The MUARC has a lot to answer for regarding these statistics that they publish. I know a few of the students in the Monash Uni Auto/Mech Engineering course, and each one of them has told me that is you want to work in that center, you have to subscribe to the philosophies contained in their briefs to the government, and that an opposing view (i.e. fatigue, lack of knowledge/concentration, conditions being causes) will get you removed very quickly. This line could be applied to global warming as well, it has long been used to justify government spending and to control the actions of the general populace, consider the fear of MAD and the Red Threat, this managed to keep the population fearful and looking towards the government to provide for them, rather than being self responsible. If the government can make the population totally subservient to themselves, then they have won.
  13. So, you want to overtake a truck on a country road that is doing 95kp/h, and you are limited to a maximum of 100kp/h? Quick maths on that states that you will be exposed to danger on the wrong side of the road for over 40 seconds, where as at 120kp/h it drops to 8.5seconds (assumption made that to overtake the truck at a steady speed you need to gain 60m on the truck)
  14. German expert agrees with us.
  15. Because the current rules have been sooo successful in reducing the road toll. The trouble is in the definition of "hooning" 25kp/h over the limit is considered hooning. So if you miss a speed change sign from 100 to 80 and get done for it, your car can be impounded under the new hoon laws.
  16. Yep, I checked before hand with Justin and he was fine with it.
  17. Very competitive against them, the wests are the main challenge.
  18. Picking up the pace at the moment, Got the brakes completed on the weekend, nearly finished all of the wiring, one of the main items outstanding is doing the exhaust system. I might even have it running in time for the WRX Club Winton round in a few months.
  19. Meh, Radicals are slow and overpriced in Australia, there is a reason why they decided to not play with the rest of the Sports Racers.
  20. Roy, iirc, the Britcar 24hr race is being held at Silverstone pretty soon, that would possibly explain the vehicles in attendance.
  21. I saw Snowy's new beast today, the cage is looking really good.
  22. I got my rain checked phone from Optus a week ago, but I didn't order it for a week after they where originally released also. So far, I like it more than my 3GS (the wife now has that one) it has a better signal reception than the 3GS, I can actually answer the phone inside my house and shed now, without it dropping out. The camera is better, and the screen is also much clearer than the old one.
  23. Nothing like an election coming up to get the sweeteners going, ah well, dumb bogans will still vote for them.
