  1. Re:Sway bars So looking at SuperPro and can get them through Supercheap Auto for $272 each excluding bushes. There are three different sizes for both front and rear. Front 26, 32 or 34 mm Rear 20,21 and 22 mm. Anyone know if there's any issues with the biggest sizes ? I
  2. Hey looking for front and rear sway bars for my M35 with Nolathane bushings and heavy duty links. Who's selling them here in Sydney ?
  3. No, he started on the R35 and has also done M35. Played around on the circuit boards and analysed how they work. Curious to know what software he uses.
  4. Hey my mechanic says he knows a bloke who can tune GTRs and Stageas without any piggy back. He's cracked the factory ECU's and can access everything. I haven't met him yet but it's pretty exciting, maybe won't have to drop 1K on a daughter board and install. I wouldn't mind knowing how much more you can get out of the VQ25DET with factory afm, turbo and injectors. Not interested in E85, considering going for the Hypergear G1. Will post updates as I get along.
  5. Yeah but wouldn't the oil immediately enter the manifold if it's the turbo bearing. So there would be smoke whilst rolling downhill or gearing down and there isn't. Only once I touch the accellerator. It's like the head doesn't drain quick enough when going downhill. Thanks for all the feedback.
  6. Yeah true, wish I had more time to tinker myself. Another thing to consider is the oil only seems to enter when the car is facing down hill, driving and parked. If I park facing up hill, there's never any smoke on start up. Where's the pcv, toward the front or back ? cheers
  7. Hmm ok replaced the pcv with a new one and the problem still exists, but as not as much. Again., oil is sucked in on coasting down long hills, then big plume of blue smoke on accelleration. I saw back in a 2010 thread, JDM_spirit blocked off his pcv ,the problem went away and the car performed normally. So I'm gonna try it too. I'm burning 1 litre of oil every 5-6 weeks. My mechanic does think it's the valve stem seals and told me to start saving up. I do not like the sound of that.. He pointed out it's common for cars around 10 years old or more that have sat around for long periods of time. The seals are neoprene and dry out. The previous owner said he hardly drove it in 6 months as he had a company car. Then additionally the time she's been on the boat coming over from Japan. Anyone here done their seals or guides ? Would like to have an idea before I commit. If the head has to come off I may as well swap over the turbo at the same time. cheers
  8. I think the bottom line comes down to the anchor points. I've towed 1.3 tonne loads in my trailer dozens of times behind my old camry wagon with a 500 kg tow bar. Mate the tow bar will rip off the car way before the tow bar itself breaks. The only issue really to worry about is braking.
  9. Have you tried fastfit bullbars in Leichhardt ? They just did my M35.
  10. Hey, re 2001 M35 Anyone know where the internal siren is for the alarm ? My alarm is malfunctioning and setting off the alarm when I open the doors occasionally. Need to find the bastard and cut the wires. Cheers
  11. And snow trips
  12. I needed a third roof rack to carry long timbers for work but fitted a cheap wing instead. Three racks would look crap, plus no where to mount it unless I drill the roof., quite happy with this. I velcro a sponge roller onto it Had to spread the mounts right to the ends, then drilled right through the plastic cover trims and hatch to bolt through. Drill holes are in the drain void too. Huge difference at 100 km/h, the cars feels way more planted. Naturally anodised aluminium matches the Whisbars.
  13. yep stock turbo. I've driven 5 in all so the sound is normal, quieter if anything. Boost is good, mixtures are still good, hardly any smoke whilst hard accelleration and it's black . If the turbo is going, wouldn't it leak under boost ? 113,000 kms genuine. not sure of oil as previous owner was doing changes and he can't remember what grade. What grade should it have ? Faulty PCV sounds like a good place to start. Performance and idling is perfect though. cheers
  14. OK have to re-visit this issue, smoke getting worse, more frequent and more of it. Mainly on decelleration. Haven't seen any on start up for a while and seems clear onn accelleration. Again, turbo sounds good, spools up fast and is boosting nicely. Does the PCV really allow this much oil to vent normally ? Another thing to mention is this car has a straight through Jasma exhaust with Scotty dump. Maybe as there is little or no back pressure, the PCV sucks oil ? Any thoughts ? cheers
  15. What's the white socket called ? I'm assuming JayCar will have them. cheers
  16. If it doesn't have an aux switch on the front then you can't. I have the single DIN CY230 cd player which doesn't have any aux. I'm looking at installing a media player into the tv tuner via rca. The TV Tuner does have aux in but it's a 6 pin square plug. I'm trying to source a lead.
  17. Hey anyone still selling the rca to aux leads ? Or even just the male plug ? Thinking of connecting a hd media box via the rca outs. Not fussed on video, just want mp3 playback.
  18. Ok time to get rid of the stock suspension. Man the car drives nice but I think my 95 Camry wagon had less body roll. I think my springs are fatigued ,14 years old if they're the originals. Looks like BC's are a good choice from all the +1s I've driven 4 M35s, 2 of which had Nismo springs, according to the owners. The ride was much more direct, still comfortable too. The springs were yellow progressive. I'm not sure what spec these were as the S tune are red. The S-tune are advertised as 20% stiffer. Anyone know what the BC BRs are %. I've also noticed quite often people are selling their S-tunes. It would be good to know what people didn't like about them. Also looking for some solid sway bars. Anyone still making them for 250t RS Four Any input would be great. Cheers
  19. aaahh yes the notorious PCV.. should have picked up on that. Blocked it off on my GTS-T. cheers everyone
  20. My 2001 M35 with 115,000 kms occasionally blows blue smoke on start up. Only on cold starts too. Also the other day going down the Roseville bridge , I saw a bit of blue smoke briefly. Engine seems healthy, starts and drives beautifully, plenty of power. No smoke on accelleration or decelleration.. Turbo is quiet, no signs of noisy bearings, just the normal whistle. Signs of a dying turbo ? From what I've read, stock turbos only last around 120k on average. Or maybe something with the engine? Or Maybe wrong oil, (too thin) ? Any thought ? thanks...
  21. no, not going to try anymore, don't want to snap it. I bet a replacement will be hard to find too.
  22. I wanna see if there is a third anchor point at the back I started to pry it off from the back. I can see plastic prong clips, but now it's getting hard to go any further. Afraid of cracking it.
  23. Hey anyone know how the plastic roof rail covers come off ? Looks like they clip off but would be good to know which way to pull / pry them Not the small covers over the factory mount points, I mean the whole thing. cheers
