  1. hehehe nah, wasn't a trick question, it was just a random image that popped up from the SAU gallery... At first I thought it was chrome, but upon closer inspection, I think it's black too...
  2. especially me?
  3. $40,000 for a 15 year old imported GTR? Good luck with the sale, should be snapped up immediately at that bargain basement price
  4. They're okay for a budget/cheaper tune...
  5. Is that chromed or painted very shiny black???
  6. I'd love to IM you and................. have you explain it to me in layman's terms ( ) but you don't have an IM listed in your profile
  7. Whoa....... Slow down there turbo!
  8. Exactly. The car should be tuned with so much ignition timing for C16, it would pretty much grenade itself if you ran it at full noise with PULP. So basically the tuner doesn't know what he's doing, and wasted all that C16 by tuning such a stupidly large margin of safety into it that wreckedhead was able to run PULP on the same tune, effectively wasting all that C16.
  9. :( Well that's from my experience anyway. When I bought my first R33 GTS-t, I was on my way down south and this guy in a V6 ute pulls up and wants to drag... Being young and immature, as well as wanting to rack up my first kill , I revved back at him and at the green we both dropped the hammer and went for it. I got a good launch, just a little bit of wheelspin, and over 200m or so, I probably pulled about 1-1.5 car lengths on him before I shut it down. My car was dead stock, with 225 tyres, a full tank of gas and a passenger. His had at least an exhaust and who knows what else... But the race was a lot closer than I imagined it would be.
  10. Hey SK... Thanks for confirming what I thought... I knew that Carrillos are excellent rods, and definitely WELL beyond the power levels I'm aiming for, but it's always good to have overheads built in Unfortunately I don't have time to fly upto Brissy anytime soon... Phillip: Are you willing to send them to me, pending my getting them checked out and measured? If they're all fine, I'll take them for $1500. I can give Chris (doughboy) the money to hold as an escrow if you feel more comfortable with that, but rest assured I'm good for it I'm not about to rip anybody off over some conrods Thanks again Sydneykid. Let me know what you think Phillip, Andrew.
  11. I suppose you thought you'd come away sounding rich and powerful from that (because you know.... None of us can afford C16), but instead you came across as a chump who has absolutely no idea about cars or tuning. :slap:
  12. I think you're right... I've completely missed any references to a Supra before your post.
  13. That's not exactly jumping in the deep end mate... Both are similar powered RWD cars...
  14. WEH!!!!!!! I'm that gay hairdresser dude!!! Kyan or something... ................ oh wait. They're all gay.
  15. You mean a GTR with similar mods on it's RB26? Probably because of it's extra weight? Dunno... Hopefully that will change soon
  16. Seriously in near perfect condition. Taken off a 55,000km 1997 R33 GTR V-Spec, replaced with a GReddy 4-inch intercooler. $750. Reply in thread, PM or email me: andrew@[nospam]andrewho.com (remove "[nospam]")
  17. I assume that all the rods are in perfect condition? No warping or damage? Have you weighted all the rods? Are they still all still balanced? Have you attacked them with verniers and made sure there is no stretching around the either end (big end and gudgeon pin end)? It's a little hard to do this with second hand parts considering we're in different states and I can't get my hands on them to measure them... Would you be able to take close ups of all the rods? Why did you remove them from your engine? email me: andrew at andrewho dot com
  18. Whether or not it's a greater achievement is very subjective. I couldn't give a rats ass whether you used a 1.6L carby or a 5.7L Supercharged LS1 with Nitrous... A 10 second pass is a 10 second pass. Who cares what you used to do it. That's completely upto the car's owner, and a very personal choice... I don't think one deserves greater accolade than the other, as it's still an excellent result.
  19. There are many ECR33s out there with the power potential to run 10s (possibly with a little bit more fiddling)... So the RB25 is capable of producing the power necessary to run that time. So if the RB25 is capable of running a 10, why is it "cheating" to use an RB26? It might be easier, but it's not doing anything the RB25 can't do... It's just doing it more easily and probably without all the fuss of building such a tough RB25. Also, what about all the ECR33s running RB30 conversions? Are they no longer "GTS-ts" in your mind? What are they? VL Commodores?
  20. Well if you were still able to run the car at full throttle, through all the gears, at maximum load (as per drag racing), with PULP with that tune and NOT get severe detonation, then all you did was WASTE a tankful of C16 last week Why in the world you would pay $150 for a drum of C16, and then get it tuned so you could run PULP????
  21. Welp... That's well and truely out of the league of anyone on here unless they have been to law school. You're right. Time to go get legal council and some proper advice.
  22. So you left the car tuned for C16 and ran it with a C16/Optimax mix? At first I thought it's a little weird to get the same mph on C16 tune as you would on a much lower power 98 octane tune... But now I'm just flabbergasted that you'd run the car with Optimax on a C16 tune!!!
