  1. Okay dude... But let my words echo in your head when you stick a tape recorder in a cop's face and he calmly and politely asks you to pop your bonnet and gets out his defect notice pad on what WAS a routine stop. Believe what you will. I subscribe to the school of thought: "Don't do anything to make them more upset... Just sit there and shut up and answer only when necessary. Be polite and you'll be on your way soon enough." edit: Let me finish by asking you (doxx and predator) a question: Imagine you were a police officer, who was pissed off from dealing with idiots all day and copping abuse all day and just wants to get home... You pull over a young kid who was driving "enthusiastically" just to see where he lived and see the car wasn't stolen, etc etc... and as you approach the window, the kid sticks a tape recorder out of the window and says to you "Officer, I will be taping this conversation. Do you have any objections?" What would your reaction be, considering that you're already in a foul mood? (This is a reasonable assumption as usually this is when the officers are being rude and aggressive as per this discussion) Be honest. What would your reaction be? I know that I'd get even more jaded and upset, and even though I'd put on a calm exterior for the tape recording, I'd be seething inside, and depending on my vindictive personality, I might just rape you for all you're worth. Just something to think about I guess? edit2: Then again I guess it is also possible that the officer gets scared and backs down from your show of resolve and strength
  2. Okay, well believe that if you want, but they can't get in trouble for being aggressive if they have reason to be. In any case, fine... So they're angry and fuming on the inside at your gall to dare to tape them... But are meek and compliant on the outside, whilst raping you over and defecting you for every little thing wrong with your car.
  3. LIES. Motion not to add nicknick's time until someone from SAU watches his fill up at the Shell at Eastern Creek before the drags
  4. WTF? Count me out.

  6. Seeing that R33 GTR Brembos don't have slotted discs, then I would be very surprised if the R32 N1 came with them... Oh, and they're not solid discs, they're vented.
  7. Yeah, was good to meet you too... New friend? Sharon wasn't it?
  8. There are noise regulations as well dude... I think it's 92dB limit? Oh, and a screamer pipe basically dumps exhaust straight from the engine out into atmosphere, bypassing all emissions devices, so if that's doesn't "alter the emissions of a vehicle", nothing will
  9. Yes. Either you or the Police Officer is allowed to tape the conversation after informing the other party that they will be doing so. Be careful though, as sticking a tape recorder/mobile phone in their face can quickly turn a calm cop who was just going to give you a warning into an agressive and angry cop.
  10. Don't worry too much about it... It really is quite an inconsequential thing. It's not like you've lost your licence or anything. So what to do now? Basically the officer has deemed your exhaust illegal. But you think that it's under 90dB. (I highly doubt that, btw) So goto an EPA testing station, and get them to test how loud your exhaust is. Make sure the test is done under legislated conditions. They are very specific about what RPM the test is to be done at (don't let them rev it to redline) and what angle and distance their microphone has to sit near to your exhaust. If you're right, you're right. If you're exhaust is illegal, then fix it. It's not the end of the world!!!
  11. Send meshmesh a PM... He's organising a deal with Exedy to give SAU an "unbeatable price" on Exedy clutches... Also, there are something like 7 different Exedy Single Plate clutches available for RB engines so make sure you get the right one for your needs... I can't remember them all otherwise I'd list them, but there are two main groups: Ceramic and Organic clutch plates. The ceramic range are rated to hold more power than the organic ones.
  12. Yeah... I'm still in for this one...
  13. GTi-Rs are ugly though
  14. Yeah... that Alfa and all 5000 of his headlights/foglight/spotlights was so damn annoying...
  15. The R32 GTS-t isn't very fast "straight outta the blocks"... But with a few modifications it can definitely hold it's own... What cars have you previously owned? By that, I'm trying to get a feel of what kind of power you've experienced before and better point you into the right direction. I have a feeling an R32 GTR would be better suited for you... They have a lot more torque and come on boost a lot harder (but later) than the GTS-t.
  16. Simon, was that you that I caught upto near the end of that road with the intersection to Gosford/Singleton/Sydney and we didn't know where to go? I was in the Midnight Purple R33 GTR... If so, you have to also factor in the 2-3 minutes we spent stationary at that intersection trying to figure it out and calling people too
  17. Those of you who cruised up in the 2nd bunch missed a great thrash through the galston gorge and up the other side... Definitely a great cruise!
  18. Okay, I'll take one... Model: R33 GTR series: 3 carbon fibre or fibreglass: Carbon Fibre how many: 1 edit: I'll just take one...
  19. Gee, I hope I'm thinking of the same bar here
  20. hehehhe... I agree with not really being able to leave the car stock... So I'd choose the GTR because I know I'd end up modifying it anyway One thing though, I've only taken my GTR out onto the track once with stock suspension and road tyres and it wasn't the best experience... I was so used to high corners speeds of my last car with semi slicks and fully setup coilover suspension, stock suspension and road tyres just didn't cut it But the question I ask you, is how do you know that the drivers of the GTRs you've been in were driving the car properly? I went for a few laps with Andrej Pavicevic in his GTR, and he was using ATESSA coming out of 80% of the corners at Eastern Creek. He also cut a 1:49 in that mostly stock (cam gears, powerfc, boost... stock suspension, road tyres, etc) GTR whilst cruising and chatting to me, so in the right hands, a GTR (even stock) is a fearsome machine.
  21. Interesting post. I'm not really sure where you get your prices from, but judging from those prices, I assume you have never actually modified an R32/R33 GTS-t. "good pistons" alone will cost $2000. Let alone camshafts, and the labour cost involved in an engine rebuild. Try something more like $5-6000 for that in a good reputable workshop with RB engine experience. "good japanese rims" alone will cost around $3500-$4000 if you imported them yourself and $5000 if you bought them from a local dealer. "good quality rubber" will set you back $1500-$2000 "clutch, LSD, RB25 box" - $3000 sounds about right if you include labour to fit them all.. Realistically, for $10,000 here's what you'd get: Air pod: $200 Turbo-back exhaust: $1000 (local custom exhaust) Bleed Valve: $250 (for a good one) Suspension: $2500 (Full Whiteline "Works" Kit) Intercooler & Piping: $1500 Wheels & Tyres: anywhere from $2000 to $5000... Don't expect much change from the latter if you want those Volks or NISMO rims. MAYBE PowerFC: $1500 (if you buy cheap wheels) At the end of all that, you'll be putting out about 190-ish rwkw and have a very nicely setup car to drive, but don't expect $10000 to go very far when you're talking about modifying your R32/R33 GTS-t
  22. Motion to change thread title to: "Very Special Dyno Kit"
  23. After owning a stock GTR and a fully worked GTS-t, I choose the GTR hands down. It really is no comparison. The GTR makes such a lot of torque so easily, and is a much nicer car to drive... ATTESA is a godsend too... No point in making 300rwkw if you struggle to put it down and get stomped by stock GTRs off the line...
  24. As per email, I'm still deciding which one (CF or CK) I'd want... Waiting for photos to decide...
  25. At this stage yes... I'll be going on the 9pm cruise though... I want to go for a bit of a drive...
