:Owned: And I think it was more the kms on the turbo, and not the boost level that caused the exhaust wheel to come off. I ran 1 bar on my R33 GTS-t turbo for more than a year with no problems.

R33 Centre console dash!! (urgently needed)
Merli replied to Reidles's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
This thread really should be moved to the WTB forum, what posessed you to post a wanted: dash surround thread in the Forced Induction Forum anyway?!? The Spare Parts dept at my local Nissan dealer can order anything in. You give them your Chassis number, and they can look up their database with breakdowns of all the parts of the car with part numbers, and you just tell them what you need. They can also order in anything from the NISMO catalog, but at an astronomical cost. -
Tonight's debate - R33 VSpec 2?
Merli replied to Jamezilla's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Did they claim it was a VSpec II? If so, that's very dodgy. I went to a dealer on Parramatta Rd here in Sydney a few years ago, and had the dealer adamantly claim that it was a Series 2 GTS-t. It didn't have passenger airbag, series 2 steering wheel or series 2 headlights. The plate in the engine bay said it was a 1995... Dealers will spout anything they can think of to make a sale. Quite disgraceful actually. -
They look like they'd hurt the car I was thinking about getting some for the trip down to the snows next month, but by the looks of those clamps, they aren't going anywhere NEAR my car...

Tonight's debate - R33 VSpec 2?

I think that's a Top Secret Customer Car. That isn't one of their demo cars, at least it wasn't at their workshop in January when I visited. YBSLO4: Dude. There is no such thing as an R33 GTR VSpec II. -

If you're not joking: Congratulations... You're a victim of ricer gullibility :bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha: If you are: :bahaha: :bahaha: :bahaha: -
Well yes, as I said that was in 1997 when I bought my first car, so I sure hope things have improved. I currently have my car with Quiktrak because that's what the previous owner put on there. But yeah, it still stands that a GSM/GPS based tracking system would be FAR superior to a proprietory radio network... I'm still deciding whether I should rip out the Quiktrak and go with CarCom...

There's no widebody kit on that, they're standard GTR guards... It does however have aftermarket sideskirts and rear pods (I expect aftermarket front bar too) -

FS: C's Short Shifter for R33 GTR ***SOLD***
Merli replied to Merli's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
COD will be about $15... Installation is VERY easy! You don't have to take the gearbox out, just take off the gearstick surround, and then you have access to the shifter that you're replacing! It will take you about 20 minutes maximum. I've got it down to an art, after installing them in my previous two Skylines PM me your address and I'll send it out first thing tomorrow morning. -

Merli replied to Merli's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
We could really keep this going forever couldn't we? We still have cents to play with as well, so there's more tuning resolution $360 + COD charges. No more offers... It's already a good price and you know it. It's BRAND NEW!!! -
I've been told that the 2530s are efficient upto 1.4 bar, but you can screw a little bit more power out of them at 1.5-1.6 bar... Although it's not as efficient, there is a little more power available at 1.5 bar... Any more than 1.6 bar and you're just feeding your engine hot air. Anyway, I'll have to wait and see after I've sourced some good 2530s

Here are some photos of them:

I have two near new headlights I don't need... I bought them for my car, put them on for about a month, then took them off because I sold it. There are four round, black plastic discs that you turn and remove to get access to the bulbs. I removed two from one of the headlights, the other headlight is untouched. It would take 5 mins to put your ones on to replace them. As I said, they're seriously about a month old, and look brand new. I'll let them go for $500 for both of them. No offers. Email me: [email protected] if you're interested.

Have you still got these? -
I wrote the stuff in italics, I made it italics to show why I edited the post. Well then NRMA Carcom and Navtrak are both infinitely superior to Quiktrak's proprietary radio network, which has extremely limited reception/coverage.
-
They have been saying that since 1997, when I got my first car and installed a Quiktrak system in it. As I drove around to different areas of Sydney, I would pull over, arm the car and set off the alarm to test their coverage. I must have done this about 20 times in the 2 years I owned that car, and NOT ONCE did they call me. I ended up having to call them and ask if they knew the alarm, was going off, and they said "uhhh we can't tell you that Sir.", even after I verified I was the owner of the car. Then I asked them to please unlock the car, as I left my keys in it, and it was then that they had to admit that they had absolutely no idea where my car was. I sure hope their network has improved since then. edit: the problem with Quiktrak is that they use their own broadcast towers, and as such, they have a VERY VERY limited range. Navtrak relies on the GSM network, so anywhere that you have mobile coverage, your car is being monitored. NRMA CarCom takes this one step further and incorporates a backup GPS tracking system AS WELL AS the GSM network. I think it's pretty plain to see which one is the best, don't you?

FS: R33 Brembo Brakes ***SOLD***
Merli replied to Merli's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Well there have been several other sets sold on here for this amount, so I don't think I'm asking too much at all. There's nothing like past sales to judge the going rate of products -
Mine has the hose to the plenum chamber attached to it... I dunno about the price either.... $30? $40? Make it worth my time to pack it up and goto the post office basically :bahaha:
-
Firstly, MINES, you have too many cars. Give me one Tom, I've owned 3 skylines so far, and I've got two at the moment, so I've been through a lot with these cars... I'm running standard BOVs on my 97 V-Spec, and I don't plan to change them anytime soon. Apparently they'll hold boost upto 1.4 bar, but I'm not entirely sure. I'll tell you after I've sourced some HKS GT2530s and dialed up 1.6 bar :bahaha: Although it may be true that they don't leak boost, many people like to make doubly sure by fitting an aftermarket BOV.... Either that or they just like the sound of an externally venting BOV... If you stick to the large manufacturers like HKS, Apexi, Trust, you can be sure that they will hold a lot more boost than stock ones. Whether you need it or not is another question. Oh, and there are some EXTREMELY high powered GTR owners on SAU... :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

NISMO Triple Plate Clutch
Merli replied to Merli's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Lepperfish: Removed from the car after 1500kms because I'm selling the car. They would be over $4000 if you tried to source one from an Australian distributor. I bought it for Jap retail plus $300 shipping, and it came out to $3100. No lies. Straight truth. BNR32: expensive?? Are you serious? This clutch is literally brand new (the clutch plates aren't even worn in yet), and it's about $1500 cheaper than you'd get from Australian NISMO distributors!!! To post images like I did, you have to host the images yourself, and then use the img tags: e.g. [ img]http://www.dummy.com/photo.jpg[ /img]
