  1. What a cool build. Totally not what I expected to find on SAU on a lazy Friday afternoon wasting time at work Can't wait to see how it progresses. Good luck with it!
  2. This is the point I was going to make. Where this HTA result really stands out for me is down here. Well, that and his reports of the overall daily nature of the transient response, which I think is often overlooked when dyno charts come out. Mat's result looks more like a GTRS down in that territory, and yet goes on all the way to peak above any similar 3076 result I've seen. I read his dyno chart as about 240kw at 4000, but either way it's staggering when compared with other similar sized turbos. At 4000rpm his setup is hammering, when mine is only just waking up. Admittedly Mat's setup is pricey, but the results speak for themselves.
  3. In the meantime we will settle for videos of your car doing a 3 legged dog impression.
  4. its on 98 for now but final tune will be using the eflex setup pumped by twin walbro 400s Two Walbro 400's in tank? Wow how did you manage that?
  5. What's your catch can/separator setup Mat? I currently have mine routed like stock and after 10000kms the clear hose that goes to the intake is just starting to oil up near the cam cover. I was thinking about that dual washer bottle/catch can from just jap, but I see yours goes off to the airbox?
  6. Would getting a matching quaife rear diff have been any easier in hindsight, or would you have always had the issue being that you had v-spec to start with?
  7. Hahaha don't you worry the old HMAS 33 can be brought around from port to starboard surprisingly quickly
  8. Out of interest when were you at full boost with the old setup compared to the new one?
  9. Man I remember when I used to be on these forums when 250kw was the accepted max safe setup for a stock rb25. Ahem.
  10. Good luck Landscribble, hope the kw's flow freely I've got an g3 type A, so it's definitely possible to get a result.
  11. Oh man they had to redo the entire cross mapping from drum e85 down to pulp98 with this new turbo? Your commitment
  12. How did you get it to e46? I thought the pump e-flex was e70 minimum :S
  13. Hey xntrq, do either of those cars have the drivers door handle cup thing that you pull the door closed with from inside? Sits inside the whole window switch trim etc. I broke the base of mine where you screw it into the door
  14. Ah, that's great to hear, thanks. There's a very good chance that's what I'll get when the time comes. That is, when I'm ready to swallow my pride and take the power decrease for a cornering rocket
  15. Hahaha good on you. Wow I wouldn't have guessed that. How about the evo 7 compared to the gtr? I'm guessing the 33 wins out if you have that now and sold the lancer? I only ask because I'm considering getting an evo 7/8 as my next car and when I was younger all the SPEED magazines and Best Motoring videos compared the evo 7 to the r34 gtr. So I gather it must be good.
  16. Do you really notice the difference driving around town between the two? Or is it only when you get stuck in? I've always been very interested to know.
  17. Lucky guy, best of both worlds
  18. Get a gopro and a head strap and go for a cruise so we can strap in and feel the G's!
  19. At the end of last week I noticed my car was leaking coolant. After having a bit of a closer look, I noticed it was the water line that goes vertically down from the coolant bleeder, and into the engine block. I removed the line and noticed that the metal nipple that the coolant hose joins onto to has corroded, meaning that the end of the metal nipple is now jagged and straight instead of that mushroom head shape it normally has to stop the hose coming off and I presume also stop it leaking (makes a tight seal against the rubber hose). Anyway it took me nearly a whole day to take off that hose and a larger one near it to determine which was the cause of the leak, and then I replaced the standard clamp that you pinch to open with pliers, with a worm drive hose clamp. It's very tight working under the inlet manifold so again, it took me ages, and lost lots of skin from the hands. Yay. I eventually got around to topping up the coolant again and noticed it was still leaking, even though I had tightened up the clamp as much as possible since it was free spinning if I try to tighten further. What does everyone do in this situation? The metal nipple is solidly connected to the engine. If it were to be replaced I'd imagine you'd have to cut it off and weld on another, which would require the inlet manifold to be removed. Surely this level of repair isn't what's needed in this situation. Please help. My car is off the road because of a dumb water leak and it's annoying me.
  20. What car were you in methz? I was the silver s2 r33 with gunmetal cr kai's. I had a ball. And finally beat my mate's 500hp ss ute. He was not happy.
  21. Well my Hypergear g3 performed excellently at yesterday's powerplay. Had tons of runs and the car never skipped a beat. Plenty of wins too
