arg this thread hits too close to home... My car was defected 3 times (latest time filled the entire box THEN he decided to just stop) and de-registered (twice- once on purpose, once by mistake, ruining a long weekend, making my car undriveable for 2 weeks, had my license plates lost by the police and had a $774 fine in my name). What did I do? Did I just sell it? Get a new one? At least change the license plates? HELL NO! I've bought about 10K worth of hardware to modify it, it's going to the shop soon where it will have everything attached, have everything engineered and be re-registered with enough paperwork to make the blokes at the paper mill shy. To say this has been a hassle is an understatement. I had to get a tow vehicle and a trailor just to get it to an event I wanted to enter! But the thought of cruising along on a hot summers day in a car that I have made my own makes it all worth it I know there are a tonne of white 33s around, but I don't give a shit. I know I could have spent that 10K and gotten another one but I really don't care. I know I could sell mine and save that 10K and buy a 34 but I don't want to. It's got problems only I know about. Some things don't work in it and I don't care (like the radio for instance). 2It's mine I've spent a lot of time on that car, I really don't think I will ever sell it. The prospect of getting maybe 10 grand for it (by the time I NEED to sell it) would be peanuts in comparison to what it was worth (to me) or what I would need. So to sum up this year, it has taken all my spare money, taken all my spare time, barely moved an inch (no shit, 4 tanks of fuel this year, and it has a nearly full tank) and yet I'm still happy to live like this... And yet all I want is to see it back on the road in all its glory

Yeah, I would hold off on your letter til you find out if it's free or not. If it's free, I say go ahead, the service centre is just doing what they're told. If you have to pay money, tell them no thanks and buy some aftermarket pads. If you want to go all out, buy some rotors and everything else, but it's really not necessary.

So it's the pads that were cracking? Not the rotors? Why do the rotors need to be replaced? What damage has been done to them? Pads shouldn't cost that much... I would just do those.

What did they say was wrong with the rotors? Why can't they just machine them? I would ask for pics or something, that sounds pretty sus... I don't know of anyone having to replace rotors yet...

definately not. series 2 GTST front, bonnet/lights are different shapes: series 1 GTST, same as GTR: you might want to post up a pic of the front of the bonnet just to be certain.

How the fark were you going to fit a series two bonnet to a GTR?!

Yerp, the noise isn't so much a dead anything, it's more a, not getting enough power thing. Causes COULD be a dead or flat battery, but you could also just have shit connections on your earth or positive. I had to buy new jumper cables cause I couldn't get a good enough connection on my 1000CCA battery to jump my daily! Check these things first, also, check the voltage on the battery, it should rest at ~13V and charge at 14.2V (when the car is running) if I remember correctly. Someone can feel free to dispute those numbers.

The only assist I use is ABS, fark traction control, that's half the point! I dunno, I think I will get more annoyed at having to use a wheel then a controller... But I shall see, everyone says they're good so I might pur-chase!

so... is it worth it to have the wheel? I don't own one, and have enough shit cluttering my room as it is... Also, my desk is aimed it my computer screen with TV next to it so I would have to look to my right if it were attached to the desk... Is it worth it? Which one should I get etc? Little help??

Well being an unregistered drift/play car, I'm not too worried about doing many more kms on that turbo... roughly about 1 or so... to the workshop... down the road

around 200 - 220kws is all it will take, and not for long! Mine is at 203kws running at 15 pound right now, I've already got a new turbo though so I don't care if it blows. It could live on 180kws for a long time, I wouldn't put it past 10psi if you want it to last. power figures are all depending on other mods as well...

what kind of skyline do you own? Might be a handy bit of information that one... Also, do a search, there is TONNES of info here.

That is quite possibly the worst front bar I have ever seen... Each to their own though, it's your car, do what you want. So besides the front bar, stickers, lambo doors, rims and intercooler, what else has been done?

Is that front bar off a bulldozer or something?
