  1. i still dont see any pics, that was the deal
  2. But you said above you specifically werent dragging because the "cops behind you" wouldnt have liked it very much. Contradiction #2 for this story. If you do manage to post photos ill remove my posts and publically call myself a wanker.
  3. If the cops were behind you why did you have to call the cops? Sorry but im going to be the first to say this story reeks of bullshit. You either have to be the unluckiest R34 owner in the world (whats that, 3 accidents now?), you cant drive and obviously dont understand how your actions affect other people (e.g. maybe you hit him?) or you are making this all up and want attention. Why would he purposely damage his car and throw himself in jail? He would also be up for alot more than "recklus indangerment" if this were true (the special rulings of attempted manslaughter spring to mind). If the story is true, what can you do? Wait for his insurance to pay you out and buy a new car. Take some pics of the car and post them up.
  4. Its $100 for the friday night at windsor terrace motel. What you do Saturday is up to you, im going to be staying in Sydney somewhere though
  5. Be warned that if any of the sleeves need replacing they are shit expensive to rebuild (over $2000) as you need to upgrade to R33 GTR Series 3 specs as its all Nissan sell now. Giving the synchros a freshen up will probably run you about $600 - $1000 as you also need to upgrade to the Series 3 R33 GTR ones.
  6. I believe that should be fine, you will have to pay the $5 though unless you are a SAU-NSW member. race_snooze, the windsor motel is $99 for the night on Friday, then you can stay in Sydney saturday night if you want or go back to Canberra (it finishes around 1:30PM and its a 5ish hour drive back to Canberra from Singleton). Dont know if I can get the Friday off work, if I cant ill be leaving straight after work at 4:30PM.
  7. Well its that time of year again for the SAU-NSW Putty Road cruise. Every year a few ACT people head up, and it is one of the best weekends I think you could have with your Skyline. What is it? Putty Road is a nice long windy road that runs from Windsor (very outer Sydney) up to Singleton. The cruise usually takes about 2 hours, with a stop over in the middle (the best sausage rolls in existance!!). There is plenty of BP Ultimate and Shell Optimax availible near Windsor and there is Shell Optimax availible in Singleton. The usual plan? We head up on Friday afternoon, stay at the Windsor terrace motel (www.windsorterracemotel.com) which is about 2 minutes away from the meeting point for the cruise. Friday night involves going to the local pizza place and relaxing with good food and drink. Saturday is the cruise which finishes just after lunch (we all have lunch at the pub in Singleton) and then you can either head back to Canberra or stay in Sydney Saturday night. So, when is it? Saturday the 15th July. The price? SAU-NSW club members free, non members are $5. This is an official CAMS sanctioned event and as such the charge for non members is to cover the public liability insurance. This is usually one of SAU's biggest events of the year, and once you have been you will keep going back every year. It will also be a chance for you all to meet the mysterious Shell as she usually goes Hopefully some of you can make it up, you wont regret it. The only extra thing I will add is no dickheads. If youre going to bring a dickhead attitude, a tendancy to do burnouts or skids or drive like a wanker, stay at home because we dont want you there.

    Putty Road

Is it open to non members like normal, or just members only? Where do I send my membership payment?
  10. Ive got an RB26 one you can have for free, wont be able to get it till Monday though.
  11. Joanne at EBA (Ellrington Boardman Allport) lawyers out in Queanbeyan is great. Is currently helping me with multiple house contracts, would definately reccomend.
  12. If you have any questions just post them up here, im sure everyone is willing to help out
  13. Theres only one in Canberra, and they arnt overly "friendly" with pricing, which is why its always 2WD unfortunately
  14. Twasnt me, mines still tucked away safely somewhere within Canberra
  15. Well its been about a year since the last one (almost)... so any word on Putty Road cruise for 06? Quite a few of the ACT members are keen to head up for it again
  16. Going to organise a dyno day soon... just waiting for my car. Kind of lost motivation to organise it with no car
  17. I think you will find this is what caused your problem. 91RON fuel with octane booster that maybe boosted it by 1RON to a total of 92RON, with some thrashing added in on an ECU that was probably tuned for 98RON. Its a recipee for detonation, which in turn killed your piston(s). Have seen similar detonation damage on a GTR, I think it was 3 cylinders down to 20psi on compression and the car wouldnt start. Get a compression test done, but its probably rebuild time. A realistic price, with some nice internals (you may as well for that power level), up to $5000 including labour.
  18. Eds has had both the Datalogit and genuine Apexi software for some time now He also dyno tunes now using the autotech dyno (dyno dynamics certified shootout) in Fyshwick.
  19. Ed at Integra Automotive (see phone number in my signature). Cant remember how much he charges, but the best in Canberra.
  20. Was the 1st outing for JUN at the strip, and as beer baron mentioned a few gearbox dramas. No doubt it will be back and quicker. The thing I love about JUN is its a daily driven car (owner drives it too and from work every day, its full weight with no weight saving done on it) and is one of the best mannered GTR's I have ever been in. Good to see Andre hasnt lost his touch doing monstor burnouts in GTR's either. I have a (pretty crappy) video of it if anyone wants it. Just send me your email address.
  21. The only time I saw it run was in the afternoon, and it didnt look overly happy and was towed back... rumor has it a newish N1 oil pump took its bat and ball and went home? Good to finally see some GTR's out though, I was in the cheer squad for JUN... not bad for its first run, and the thing sounds mean
  22. The cranks are hardened steel... you have to screw up in a big way to damage them. I would get your current crank checked before spending $1200 on a "new" one. The reason I say "new" is because they cost a hell of alot more than that from Nissan brand new... and as I have said, there is no stock in Australia or Japan availible from any official Nissan outlet. If your current crank is ok, get it reground throw in some undersize bearings and spend the $1200 on a set of Tomei Poncams. I was running similar size turbos to yours (HKS GT2530's) and the poncams changed the whole car... best $$ I have ever spent on it. My rebuild list for what you are after would consist of the following: Standard crank crack tested, reground (if needed) with King bearings (dont use the Nismo/NDC bearings... they are a tri-metal bearing and the first layer started to delaminate on mine after a measy 10,000kms). Pro Engines JUN style crank collar fitted. Eagle conrods with ARP 2000 rod bolts (they will only cost ~$300 more than getting your standard rods prepped) Arias forged pistons (86.5mm so you can overbore and re-hone so its all nice and shiny and fresh) Standard water pump, N1 oil pump, oil restrictor for oil feed to the head, enlargement of oil return galleries from the head, Pro Engines JUN style sump baffles, and a bit of a port/polish job just to clean up the head. Thats just me though, and im sure your engine builder has probably reccomended along the same lines... I was just a bit shocked about the "crank might be cracked" comment when its a dead easy job to crack test them and save you money that can go towards other things. Whichever way you go, dont forget the oil restrictor for the head and the sump baffles. Grab a Tomei gasket kit (comes with all the gaskets for your engine) which also comes with the restrictor. The kit is pretty cheap and really good value.
  23. As I said in your other thread I was making well over 300kw on standard prepped rods for quite some time (shot peened, balanced). They are a strong rod, the weakest point is the rod bolts. Put a set of ARP 2000 rod bolts in it and it will be good... just dont think of revving it over the standard 8250rpm limit. You can pick up a set of forged Eagle (H-beam rods I think) for well under $1000 now, so its cheap insurance (you have to keep in mind the standard rods were only intended to support the factory 180ish-rwkw while the Eagles are intended for much higher hp applications). How much did you pay for the crank if you dont mind me asking? I personally wouldnt have gone for it, as it costs stuff all to get your current crank crack tested and reground if needed... you could then put the other few thousand $$'s you would have saved to some other stuff, like new turbos or camshafts or something. Just my opinion though
  24. What about daily driving it in Canberra where at night it can well be into the minuses and day time only get as high as 10 degrees? Was thinking of tieing a piece of cardboard over the front of my oil cooler because reports from other people with non thermostat coolers in Canberra is just driving it normally, it can take an hour or more to warm up.
  25. The N1 has a stronger block, stronger conrods, stronger pistons, higher pressure oil pump, higher flowing water pump, no abs, no aircon, no rear wiper. Probably a few other things I have missed. Mechanically the V-Spec II is the same as every other normal GTR, with the exception of ATTESA and the Brembo brakes.
