Fined For Not Displaying Number Plate
Amaru replied to r33gtrv-spec's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Read the rules in their entirety mate, you won't be exempted because it only applies to vehicles where it is not practicable to comply with the rules. Considering 99.9% of R33 GTR owners have successfully mounted a front number plate by drilling holes/using some other sort of mount, what makes your R33 GTR individually unique that you cannot do the same? Suck it up, pay the fine and follow the rules like everyone else has to. -
So that's why I am indispensable to our illustrious leaders then, thanks for the heads up Richard haha.

Tips on how to earn cash? Don't have kids and empire build at work (e.g. Don't share knowledge with others) to make yourself more valuable haha. In reality - been saving for 2 years mate

Bridged the wires and lights came on, wired back to switch and they're working now so dodgy switch. Thanks for the idea, very helpful

So, got advised by a friendly motorist that my brake lights weren't working. Got home and checked and surprise surprise, they're not working. Checked the "stop light" fuse under the dash and it's ok, bulbs are ok so I'm out of ideas. Any suggestions on things I can check would be most welcomed.

Do you have comprehensive insurance? They should have sorted out the towing for you.

AVCR sold so all gone now however I did find something else under the drivers seat of my car which is possibly the greatest item I will have for sale... Miss Congeniality 2 on DVD that I hired from video ezy back in 2005. All yours for just $1, be quick and don't miss out!

ECU sold, roll bars sold and AVCR pending sold

It can run anything, it's a fully programmable ECU like the Autronic SM4, it's not tied to a particular car (e.g. Power FC). It comes with a harness that plugged into my standard GTR loom to use most of the standard sensors. Accoring to the Haltech doco that loom is good for R32 and R33 GTR and GTST (and also 300ZX). It is worlds beyond standard plug and play ECU's, it has multiple extra sensor inputs and outputs to drive whatever you want (e.g. Launch control, antilag etc).
-
And since I want to get my post count up haha... It's an ECU that can be used on any car, it just comes with the GTR loom (which also works on GTS and 300ZX I've been told). Has an internal MAP sensor so you can ditch the AFM's or you can use an external MAP sensor if you really want. I had it running on my GTR with a T04Z using the internal sensor.

Actually I lied, it's not a Platinum Pro it's a Platinum Sport 2000 ($2500 ECU RRP) with the GTR patch cable. I'll still honor the $1000 price though Specs at http://www.haltech.com/index.php/product/platinum-sport-series/the-platinum-sport-2000

You most certainly can, that's how I was running it comes with the plug in loom as well.

Sooooo after being called a "hoarder" I thought I'd post up some stuff I have for sale. Item 1 is a Haltech Platinum Pro ECU to suit R32/R33 GTR. Brand new these retail for almost $2000... Mine has been used for a few hours and I don't have the box, so $1000. Item 2 is an Apexi AVCR, last used in my car around 5 years ago. This I do have the box for but as it hasn't been used in 5 years, can't guarantee it works so willing to let go for $100. Item 3 is standard GTR front and rear anti roll bars/sway bars, yours for just $20. I'm sure I have more stuff to add, thought I'd post it here in the ACT section first for anyone that might be interested.

How bout an SAU ACT business thread?
Amaru replied to Veilside R33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Hey zebra, I don't need an RC engine but can I pay you to clean my RC car? Thing is filthy and the carb is all gummed up so it doesn't pull fuel through unless my finger is over the exhaust... I'd do it but I really CBF haha. It's a Thunder Tiger MT4 S50 (the big bore engine one). -
Didn't see any skylines there do assumed no SAU people were there... And I was hungry
-
Did a drive by around 10:30ish... Lots of cars there, no skylines.
-
Keep the car off the road for an extra 6 months if you need to save up some more money then and do any sump mods while you have the engine out. Any sump changes basically require the engine to come out in a GTR, so you will be up for ~$3000 worth of labour costs alone in engine R&R.

God I hope its not mine else its been stolen

I did my first rebuild with Pro Engines back in 2003. Cost was around $8000 and for that I got standard rods prepped, Arias forged pistons, ACL bearings, ARP studs, a bit of headwork, new gaskets etc. That motor lasted around 25,000kms running ~340awkw (HKS 2530's running at 25psi). Second "rebuild" was more of a freshen up of the first rebuild I had. New bearings, aftermarket rods (cant remember what they were), new gaskets and studs etc. Cost was around $5k from memory and this was in 2005 and done by Pro Engines. This motor did 0km. Third motor I am on now is the Racepace motor - cost was quite a bit, but worth every cent
-
Same Spetz that used to kick around in the Syndicate days? Had a Lancer if memory serves me right? +1 to R34 GT-R... or be like me and get a BMW 135i, just as fast as the Evo X and at least it has an inline 6 turbo in it (and the interior does not make me want to set fire to my eyeballs)
-
As others have said, Fridge does it for a good price. Failing that you can hire a Nissan Patrol from Hertz out in Queanbeyan - I did this with a car trailer, whole thing cost less than $300 to get a GTR back from Sydney. Fairly certain Pro Engines moved out of the address listed on their website years ago now. No idea where the current location would be. Aside from CRD, if you get the engine out you can send it down to Race Pace in Melbourne. I got my current motor from them and it is awesome to drive, feels very healthy and responsive (and I flog the piss out of it, with a T04z hanging off the side). Just another option. But all that aside, hopefully you have just spun a bearing and not caused any other damage. If this is the case it should be relatively cheap to fix given it sounds like you have all the other go fast bits already.

What's the chicken schnitzel like there?
