I wouldn't bother taking it to court to be honest. Unfortunately it is illegal to park on nature strips, and you are more than just "a wheels distance" on, from the picture it looks like 3/4 of the width of the car is on it. Being let off because you simply didn't know (and using the example of picking up a law book and questioning the judge on something random) wont stick either - if the judge were to do this it would set a precedent others could then use to get off traffic infringements because they "simply didn't know" either. This is why you will hear people say ignorance is no excuse. You also need to remember that if the judge finds you guilty they penalty can be increased, so it is not just a day off work plus the attendance fees. So overall probably not worth it and you have now learnt something. Sux how it happened but thats the way the system works unfortunately - you are expected to know the legal consequences for all your actions and if you don't, then don't do it.

R32Gtr Parting Out Melb
Amaru replied to MeL_rps013's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Done, will take the front bar with lip too (assuming it is on ok condition with the typical stone chips and scrapes on the bottom that come from driving the car?). Would also appreciate the windows with the door... Does it come with the window regulators as well or is that part of the door trim component? Have sent you a PM, please respond and we can discuss further there -

Will take the doors + grill, do you also have a front bar? Please send me a PM with bank details and I will transfer money and organise pickup. -
Keen for a bit of a cruise and "reintegration" into the SAU society haha - hopefully have the GTR back by then, although she is looking a bit worse for wear in the body department Where are you staying Richard? If we can get the same place we can booze on till early hours of the morning

Tuning Issue That Has Got Many Of The Best Minds Stumped.
Amaru replied to D_Stirls's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Tried another ECU that isn't a Haltech? I had a *very* similar issue along with some other "electrical gremlins" (intermittent misfiring and some other problems), the Haltech setup had been checked by many people whom could see nothing wrong with it - swapped it out for an Autronic ECU and the car has never run better. Never did resolve the problems with the Haltech, as said many people had looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with the setup, it just would not work reliably in my car for whatever reason. Power FC had no problem, Autronic has no problem, Haltech had nothing but problems... *shrug* go figure. -
The owner was the original owner of a black R32 GTR (Aus delivered) with the numberplates JUN. He used to frequent these forums and Friday night gatherings back at the museum, not sure if he still does or not. It's in Kingston a fair bit because he owns a fairly large business there

Datalogit Cable Needed (or Power Fc Hand Controller)
Amaru replied to Amaru's topic in Australian Capital Territory
It has been a while Failing the datalogit cable even a older pfc hand controller would suffice (my pfc is from 2001 :\) -
1- Donnan 2- Kat 3- A20089 R33 GTR 4- CeJay R32 GTS4 5- Xanavinismo R34 GT-R 6- sl33py 7- R34power 8 - Amaru The car, after almost 4 years is getting pretty close to being started woohoo and what better way to run it in than thrash it like a cop on the dyno.

Oh wow, those turbo pics are from Luch's old Z... dare I ask how you came to be in possession of that motor/car? Have been for a ride in it many times and the thing absolutely hauled ass (and I was sitting in the boot to keep it on the dyno on its 500+rwkw efforts). So very tempted to buy them but I dont think a standard RB26 with forged pistons will hold up :\ edit: although in saying that, when he got the car from Japan it was on the belief the motor was just N1 internals and nothing overly special (do you know whats in the motor?). My memory of the car is quite old (probably 5 years now), I know they are not responsive turbos but what rpm do they start making decent power, or better yet, do you have the dyno chart for it?

Haha surprisingly A little birdy told me about this thread so I thought I would check it out. Ill see if I can convince Ewen and Mark to come along as well. Ewen got rid of the Skyline a while ago now, he's driving an... "interesting" choice of vehicle now. P.S: How many cases of beer you guys charging these days to put an RB26 + box back into a car? Im too lazy haha.
-
Ill try and make the effort to come out. If anyone wants a lift let me know, ive got 3 spare seats... you'll just need to help me push the GTR along to get there Been 3+ years since ive driven it now, really need to get it going again

Im sure theres a park near Richards, ill bring the punch and goon...

Road Registered R35 Gtr In Woden Today
Amaru replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Um... ok. I can quite confidently tell you his 'mate' is full of crap. The car was brought in and complied by IMG in Sydney, the only company currently that can do so. There was no 'special one off treatment' (read: bribing) with the Government, it followed all the same procedures and rules that everyone else has to. The whole 'Nissan made him promise not to drive it' is a laugh as well. The car may have been in the country for several months, but compliance was only approved for the first lot of cars a few weeks ago - this would be the reason it hasnt been driven in 3 months, because you legally cant. Also not sure what the F430 has to do with importing... you can buy them brand new from a Ferrari dealer... -
IMG in Sydney can provide you one thats fully complied and registered (and to my knowledge are the only mob that can). There is one in Canberra that has been doing the rounds quite a lot over the last week with full registration.

Desperately Seeking Smash Repairs
Amaru replied to thedriver's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Farrugia dont generally touch Japanese imports (read: Skylines, Silvias, Supras etc) so I assume the Stagea would be in the same boat. Dave Smash Repairs in Queanbeyan do fantastic work, but once again they are one of the most busy panel beaters in the region so you will need to wait. -
Oops... forgot it was on.
