  1. Was going to almost have my car ready in time for a suprise visit, but not going to happen till January now. So ill be there drunk as always
  2. Youre sucking skills arent quite up to that standard, sorry Beau
  3. Probably not since the airfares return are $380 ($189 each way) then you need probably $50 - $100 for accomodation, entry to the drags (no idea on ticket prices, they come out in jan) and food. Id say $650-750 and you should be pretty safe. Also those prices are from Sydney, so if theres enough interest we can all chip in $10 and hire a mini-van for the drive up to and back from Sydney. Come on peoples, who DOESNT want to see the two fastest skylines in the world go head to head?
  4. Well, theres a post in general discussion area thing about this, but thought id post up here to see if anyone is keen. HKS will be bringing their R33 GTR out of retirement to take on the Heat Treatments R32 (now the quickest in the world) in New Zealand on the 17th Feb 2007. Me and Aurora are going to fly over on Friday the 16th and come back on Sunday the 18th. Plane tickets are $189 each way with Air New Zealand and hotel shouldnt cost too much. So who else is interested in coming?
  5. Its only $189 each way from Sydney to Taupo on Air New Zealand... might see some of you there Shit... I dont have a passport... how long does it take to get a passport?
  6. This post is right on the money. If you rear end someone and in turn they hit someone, you are liable for ALL the damage because you caused the accident (why should the innocent person stuck in the middle have to pay for their front end damage, when it was caused by the car that hit them in the rear?) And as for the post that you just have to pay the cost for replacement parts, thats incorrect as well. You will be liable for the costs of repairing the car to the condition it was in before the accident. How would you like it if you were rear ended by someone uninsured and they just dumped a load of parts on your doorstep and expected you to pay for the labour yourself? It doesnt work that way. I would get legal advice, but I think its mainly going to be setting up some sort of payment plan if you dont have the $12k up front. Im not having a go at you or your gf, the situation is understandable (not that I agree with it) and I know alot of people who drive the car uninsured when they first pick it up. Just treat this as one of lifes lessons, to get the car insured before you drive it anywhere. All it takes is 10 minutes on the phone, and you dont even have to pay a cent until they send the bill. EDIT: Just to add, the 318's run a REALLY tight front end, so the labour costs would be expensive and its highly likely that a small shunt like this could damage the air conditioning system (as alot of it sits at the front of the car in front of the radiator).
  7. Nissan in Phillip will either have one in stock, or failing that should have one overnight. Reasonably priced.
  8. Pro Engines is in Queanbeyan (Canberra) not Melbourne and the price difference is quite large actually
  9. About bloody time that came out
  10. Ive got a copy on DVD here... since im just around the corner and such a nice person, ill drop it round to you tonight if you want it PM me your phone number
  11. Interesting... a friends GTR runs a 2.7L stroker kit and HKS 3240's and the thing doesnt even come close to making peak power till its past the 10,000rpm barrier, and I dont imagine a 2.8L would be that much different... maybe a few hundred rpm less. Granted while it is making alot of power at 8500rpm, its just starting to get really fun. Having gone through all these options recently and doing alot of research, I went the JUN 2.7L stroker kit. Value for money its hard to beat. They have been used in many of Australia's high power GTR's with no reliability problems, and depending how much money you have spent on the head as well will spin up to 11,000rpm (change the rods and even higher) and handle mammoth amounts of power (said GTR above runs a JUN kit and reels off 600+kw at all four wheels day in day out). As for the Nismo crank, I have it on good/reputable word that Tomei actually make them and they are one in the same.
  12. I promised him a bottle of 151 to consume during the day

  15. What about Coombabah? From what I can gather its just north of Labrador, 10 min drive to surfers and fairly close to the beach.
  16. Hi everyone, As you can probably guess im not from the area, just curious on where Ormeau and Coombabah are (e.g. how far from surfers paradise, how far from brisbane). Also are they good/bad areas? If anyone can provide any info that would be great

  19. For Marrickville Yiros its almost worth it
  20. Correct
  21. Probably not much use to you, but I do know that Lennock Nissan in Phillip have a couple of them... maybe you could show some leg and theyd lend you one?
  22. www.internode.on.net is my answer to you sir. They are a bit more expensive than most providers, but have been around for years, always get full speeds, and are one of a handful of tier-1 carriers that also offer residential plans in the market (the others are Telstra and Optus).
  23. Nissan halted production of the N1 block some time ago, it is extremely difficult to find a brand new one at the moment (and despite what is on www.justjap.com.au they DO NOT have any N1 blocks - apart from one N1 long motor). Rumor mill has it that Nissan will start production again before the end of the year and supply will start trickling through into Australia again early - mid next year.
  24. What gets me wound up? The wanker Subaru dealer in Woden. Having a 10:30 appointment to drive a new STi, I sat and waited until 12 until the guy who the appointment was with could finally talk to me. One of the most arrogant, unhelpful pricks I have ever met in my life. So after finally getting in the car to test drive it, im dictated to on where I can drive it and cant rev it over 4000rpm... hello, its a f@#king sports car and I want to compare it to the Evo, how the hell am I meant to do it if im not allowed to rev it over 4000rpm (I didnt want to thrash it, just give it a quick squirt on straight road). Now... the colour I wanted it in is no longer produced and the Woden dealer is one of the only ones left with said colour. It had a substantial amount of damage on it (scrapes and scratches down the side, half the bolts in the rear bar missing, scuff marks on the interior etc) and they seemed reluctant to get me one from another dealer in the same colour. So naturally I asked how much dicsount would be applied to the car due to the damage etc, $2000 off and thats it. Ok, screw that. Next question was in regards to warranty. The first guy I spoke to said you can modify it and as long as Subaru cant blame the modification for the warranty claim, it will be fixed. The second guy said Subaru are the most anal out of any manufacturer as far as warranty goes, and if you mod it consider the warranty void. Great conflicting product knowledge from two sales members from the same store there. Not to mention no-one could answer me as to how DCCD worked, besides just saying it splits torque front to back. Good work Subaru, you just lost yourselves a $60,000 sale. For the two similar spec'd cars (Evo and STi) at the same price, customer service does play a large part in which one I will go, and Subaru's was non existant. Lack of product knowledge, conflicting information, bullshit testdrive, arrogant staff members, made to wait for 90 minutes even though had a 10:30 appointment... pick up your game Subaru, honestly.
  25. I need 3 parts, if you can get them that would be great. - 3 Yiros from Marrickville
