  1. Im getting the 34 turbo installed this week and came across my old topic, re-read it and got a question. A larger rear housing will mean it spools later ay.. So i will be expecting even more lag than a 33 turbo humm?!?.. Is it significantly larger or only a little, if its going to be to laggy ill sell it and buy a 33 series 2 turbo instead, any one?
  2. Adjusts your timing, checks your hoses, cant think of much else Oh and it will tell help you see how much power your cars putting out and will help see the condition of the motor
  3. Oops haha, i read this whole topic with interest, amazed that a rb20 with light tuning could put out 200rwkw... I just now realised that its a topic on r33's haha swear i red r32 some where..Too many things kill brain cells
  4. Maybe its just running a lil richer since you had the service done.. Check your plug gaps as mad said, that should help, but i think almost all rb20's backfire anyway, they all run pretty rich
  5. Im sure this has been asked before, but would i get away with a enclosed POD? Legally? Its still a modification but.. not off the shelf, and its roadworthy so.. any ideas?

    Lambo Doors

Just get a Fast Fours or a Performance Import magazine, those have quite a few ads in them and prices start from around $800
  7. Dam, the 996 turbo's are quick to.. they soo gonna make petrol powered cars superfluous soon. Soon the latest rice accesory will be petrol engine noise emulators..
  8. Alot of people go with the K&N pods, and its a quality brand, there just a fair bit quieter than, mine for example. Its just a cheap branded one, DRIFT or something, but its insanely loud.. Still trying to decide if i like it or not. Oh and the K&N pods that some people choose, are just downright ugly
  9. If its at all helpful dialing 1831 will cause your call to come from a private number, can come in handy
  10. I was wondering the same thing.. It could make you look more polite.. But then you watch those US cop shows, if sum1 gets out of the car and starts walking towards the cops, he gets shot 2 or 3 times then beaten down.. Any one enlighten us?
  11. That two intake mod rule applies in vic?
  12. Hmm dont have to worry about the golf clubs, or the fat chicks but im thinking if min height is 100m i cant lower it more than 20mil anyway so its probably pointless. Stupid Type-M kit zz thx ne wa
  13. hey im pretty happy with my suspension set up at the moment i spose but its just to high, got like 3 inches between my tyres and my wheel arches. If i put bigger rims on they'll fill up the gaurds better but will also make my car higher so.. I spose ill leave the 17's on it and get it lowered. Its a Type-M, so the sides have skirts and are already pretty low, so whats the mimimum distance from ground to kit? At the sides? does the front matter as much? Any other information would be cool, my car looks pretty average at the moment.
  14. Could be all sorts of things unfortunately, you might wanna Check your coilpacks for splits/tape them upp Re-gap your plugs to .8m replace your fuel filter Check your fuel flow/pressure to ascertain pump condition Check Your AFM, (carbie cleaner onto the sensor, run a multimeter, check soldering inside..Borrow1 off sum1 is easiest way to check if its faulty) Try another/the original BOV Check intercooler piping Check for any boost leakes Hope that helps
  15. Just in case your interested according to some victorian police, SPMAXX's are in fact "racing slicks" and not legal.. Yep thats what i just got told and canaried for. I mean they are pretty low on tread but are legal by about 2 mil (work for a tyre company). And i got the same flipping tyres on the front, i mean come on -__- Just found out i get 2 free tyres every 6 months though, so ill be putting some free SPMAXX's on the back.
  16. ahh 4-500 later isnt so bad, just have to drop it higher when taking off. As for a 2530 i thought that'd be bigger again price is sorta crazy for those.. Is a 33 turbo "big" for a rb20, in relation to other commonly used turbo set-ups for acceleration? Lag isnt such a bad thing anyway, part of the fun having a turboed car is watching the revs build up then getting smacked back into your seat ; I'll be dispatching a ransom notice to you drift freak that will stipulate when, where and at what price, you can get your thread back.
  17. off topic but how much laggier exactly? What RPM you got boost kicking in and out? Getting mine in the mail today, i thought they were only the tiniest bit laggier (series 2 turbo off a 32/33) And yeh i also heard that the vg30 is hella laggy, but it bolts str8 up.
  18. Yeh, it is rather vague.. The best turbo is probably worth about $10000, but if you mean best cheap value-for-money upgrade, go with a turbo off a r33, alot of people in that dyno topic, have gained 20-30 kw's from it
  19. These things failing is a fairly common problem, but id still check your pressure out before you did any driving
  20. Just a suggestion, get in the passenger seat of it and go for a run. I got so used to mine that i posted in here a while ago trying to figure out what it was. Dyno'd it @ 135kw, which sounded okay, so got my mate to take me for a spin. Scared the crap outta me, feels a helluva lot faster when your not the driver
  21. Hey, dude if you get the HICAS diag working can you post here exactly what you did, the timing, and whether you had to change anything? thanks
  22. yeh that sounds like a fair pain in the arse, i guess ill go with the +50 then, thanks
  23. Ahh true, ive heard that the blue were illegal in some shades as well, so i probably wasnt going to steer that way. Was going to try find something white. That said i think ill skip on the Honda Accord Light install as well, that guy's crazy.
  24. They have like little rubber socks that goes onto the tops of your plugs, and youll have to pull em up reasonably hard to get em off. So yeh if i was you id re-screw in the 4 bolts on each pack that bolts them to the metal brackets, and then just yank the brackets up. Leverage is probably needed
