dr drift in brooklyn is good, guys very helpful and has alot of experience with cars
-
I really hope the P platers in NSW don't take this sitting down...
-
i call your bluff PLYNX, show pics
-
God paul, your so naive, you assume every defect ever given out is for something thats actually defective or illegal...
-
I once had mine on a airstrip and got 240kph, still had about 500 rpm to redline as well from memory, but i ran out of space, was surprised by how good the car still felt at that speed and amused by how close the speedo was to hitting 0 again, although it was very well made road i suppose

No it does not... It is a recomendation... It's not like they said "last time we had this event people were doing burnouts, please don't do it again", and it's not like they're saying "people have done burnouts tonight, don't do more", it's merely what they're recommending people do... And anyway, they were pulling everyone over at random, i was there, and your basing your entire arguement on one unclear sentence typed last night...
-
"They stayed, chatted, laughed and watched a couple of cars tear it up for the crowd before leaving. " He means on the burnout pad.. You'll also note he said "The crowd tonight was well behaved"..
-
My point wasn't that they were specifically targeting imports, there wouldnt be much of a point to make as 80% of the cars there were fords and holdens, my point is that they are targeting the whole scene, and just don't know when to stop...

Just out of curiousity who said that? I didn't see the post.. I knew alot of people at drag tag, i left early, they didn't everyone was farrr to shit scared of cops to do burnouts... saw so many people trying to find ways around the cops only to find no way out but straight past them The other thing people are ignoring is the fact that a defect is a defect to cops (it's not a big deal and they couldn't care less whether it annoys you or not), and if they want to defect you theres nothing you can do about it, you'll just get done for gear knob too small, floor mats moving, seat too far back and stereo too bright... As i said i got pulled over, turning into the street, (20 minute check) and then leaving about 2 hours later, by which time they were just sitting there parked waiting for people (5 minute check, then moved onto the next car) I didn't get any pics (i have a real nice 3.2 megapixel camera to), it didn't occur to me, i was assuming of all the hundreds of people there that someone would be on sau, (besides that organiser who said earlier that 8 cars got defected) next week when i go i'll make sure i take some pics

I do recall a thread where someone wanted to do something about it, take it to his electorate or something... Think he got flamed and no support so he gave up, anyway, i dont have a skyline anymore so im freee!!! hehehehehe

baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa << it is the truth with alot of the people here u.u
-
Not to mention that i see at least 5 cars with no either or all of the following, driving around with no problems: No brake lights No tail lights No reverse lights No indicators Holes in the exhaust Excessive smoke Rust in all sorts of the wrong places Bald tyres and many other things And as i mentioned perhaps the cop's wouldnt cop so much crap if they didn't hand out bullshit defects and you only really had to worry about whats wrong with your car, not what's not wrong.. They shouldn't be sitting there waiting... I'd never go back there again if that car was still mine, i'd go find some nice quiet back streets somewhere and have my fun there, don't have to worry about being hassled that way
-
Hehe so what your saying is i won't go to jail because i don't have a skyline in essence
-
Also gotta factor in that (in my experience) vic cops like giving out defects to people for lots of random stuff (some of the stuff i've been done for is so wack) so regardless of whether the car is really illegally modified or not, your still at risk
-
Yeh, just went to drag tag to check it out (in the skyline i sold to a mate) was pretty cool, i'm not a fan of the dyno runs but there was some ok burnouts, anyway, on the way in there was about 3 highway patrol cars waiting about 200 meters down the road so we drove around (that cars all legal at the moment, but just in case) parked the car and walked in. Anyway we left after about an hour, went out the front and surprise surprise 4 cop cars, 2 highway, 2 normal, sitting there pulling everybody over/waving them in (not with those light saber things) and defecting them, some people were getting RBT'd but we didn't, just popped the trunk had a geezer then drove off, i think when we left they had about 3 cars pulled over that they were checking. Anyway made me P.O'd It's not like they were on a main road they were in the actual court connected to the drag tag. So cops were using this place to bottle kneck people into getting defected and i think thats poor, so i thought i'd whinge. I hope they're not still out there when it ends at 10:30, because i'd venture to say that it will get ugly Anyway, yeh i thought that was poor, and it just made me a little happier that i sold my skyline when i did

Ok tightened it up (it was about half a turn into the thread, some retard forgot to tighten it) I ran out of puff and there is still a bit of the thread not in the hole but i couldnt tighten it much more without a bigger bar (and it's decent sized) The only thing i couldn't check is the level of oil because i can't find the other screw, can someone explain the exact location of this? the DIY's i've read are somewhat vague
-
Oh really, ok i thought of that yesterday, but then was worried coz all my ratchet's have ball thingoes on them, 'll use a old breaker bar i have sitting around, thanks mate Can i check gearbox oil level though?
-
Ok so the car isn't technically mine on account of it having been sold, but yeh just before i sold it i had the gearbox seal, speedo seal and some other seal replaced (all around the box) and now i'm getting leakage (about 2 drops an hour or thereabouts) Anyway, it seemss to be coming from a grub screw in the bottom (about the size of a 50 cent piece) with a square hole in it (that i can't find anything to fit, to tighten it up) Can this screw be tightened safely (in case its adjustment related) and using what? Also how would i go about checking the gearbox oil level/replacing it, or do i have to drain it out (pain in the ass) thx

Whoa thats farked up
-
Hmm well i'll try get a good nick one and run some 2860's off it until it blows up (Hopefully not any time soon) That way maybe i won't end up broke
-
Oh really, so as long as the engine hasn't been race rallied rolled and raped and has had *reasonable* care taken of it, i might not even have to rebuild it.. I was factoring a rebuild on something umm r31 nismoid or something said about buying a r32 gtr and immediately budgeting for a rebuild, but if this isn't the case (assuming also that the engine is in good condition) i might not even have to rebuild it, which would be sweet, thanks dude
-
Ah, ok, but these engines are known to randomly blow up (unlike rb20's) and u can never trust the K's on them either, its on average about 3k more for one just after import to aus that has lower k's (wound back but assuming not as much driving was done overseas).. Is there anyone on the site who's bought a 32 GTR and ran stock internals with some 2860's or gtss turboes and not had it let go? Anyone who's has lasted 2 years+?
-
I think he's complaining about the asshole factor not the fact he got RBT'd Anyways, i get pulled over nearly every time i go into city (have only been pulled over 8 times near where i live) which is annoying because it's normally on the way home from work or i'm headed to torquay, that sort of thing, they always pop the bonnet and have a poke around, try get me for a few things and after i've briefly debated the legitimacy of my mods (although normally the things the cops ask about were like that from stock, like the bov) they either defect me or go sit in there car for 25 minutes and talk on the radio before telling me to get going. They're also always very rude to me, can never figure out why... Really freaks me out actually i was getting too scared driving my car so i sold it and i'll get a GTR when i'm 21 and hopefully cops wont be such carnts I'm always really nice to cops, i wear glasses and i'm pretty young/smart looking, always take off hat etc, doesn't make any difference >.< "And yaf28f: Legal noise limit is not 95DBa, it's actually 90DBa. " In vic it's only 86DB, 90DB (or might be 92) was only acceptable on cars made before 86

That's a good point, i didn't think much of supporting stuff, thought the GTR injectors would handle it, guess i better budget another $700 for decent injectors (700cc?), i will probably just put a bosch 040 pump in and a N1 oil pump (as i hear they're great), didn't think of cams either (wasn't quite sure with the newer engines if it's worth replacing as i know the VCT works well) spose i'll have to look into some What block prep would you be talking about? I assumed the stock block (if in good nick) would handle up to 350kw? and by crank prep i assume you mean balancing it, right? or will it need to be replaced/coated in something
