the missus is still on the old gsm with optus and she gets the same reception as my telstra 3g, as gympie has no actual 3g reception (only brisbane and the gold coast has acutal 3g reception in qld, the other regions revert back to gsm) actually at times she gets better reception than me. at the shop in the main street of gympie i get little reception inside the shop but she gets full. and other people on telstra have the same problem. i think it should be ok, but i would still like a bit more feedback. i am also going to go to the phone shop and ask them. they do telstra and optus as well as vodafone so i should get an honest answer..... if they actually have any idea that is.

as the topis says, does anyone use vodafone outside of brissy/goldcoast? what is the reception like? i am looking at changing to a vodafone plan but want to know what the reception is like. i am currently with telstra on a 3g plan and the reception is ok. will it be similar? i am in gympie, so some places in town you will lose recption due to the hills.

bit of a late reply, but was the kombi green? there is a kombi in gympie that has a wrx motor in it. it has a scoop on the side to duct air in to keep the motor cool.

the legnum is a more attractive car IMO.

*digs up old thread i use the term fender, but that is only when talking about motorbikes. on cars they are still guards

any reason why you can up with than number? why not just build the car up with a good sized turbo so that it has down low power and plenty up top and go from there, rather than set your goal at a certain number or certain 1/4 mile time. you might get 400hp and have a car that is laggy as hell, and while you may be happy that you made 400hp, someone with 350hp may leave you for dead, and have a car that is much more responsive and much more fun to drive. as someone said before, try and take someones car for a drive that has a few mods done to it and see what you think. and why do people list a BOV as a performance mod? LOL

so they should make cars the size of nissans family cars so that only kids under the age of 6 can sit in the back without having their legs squashed between the seats? look at all the euro cars. they are all heavy too.

build up the 25. for the price of a 26 install you could have a darn fast 25. as far as i know the kkr turbos are only bush bearing so they will have more lag than a ball bearing. UCD15R33 has a 3076r (which is a touch bigger than a kkr480) on his 25 and it spools up pretty well and it spooled up pretty well, even with 1 cylinder that turned out to be stuffed. if you get a good ball bearing turbo that is overkill you should get good repsonse as well as top end power. and as has been said, you can always go the rb30 bottom end to pic up low down power.

i use kyb shocks in my car and they are fine. had them in my old 33 as well. nothing wrong with them. i think they are also what nissan runs standard in the n15 SSS

321kw from the v6? i like!!

did you do the wire swap that you have to do? if not, that will probably be your problem. also get rid of your base map. just reset it, set it up for rb25 airflow meter and leave it as that. don't make any map adjustments. the gtr loom does work with the wire swap. that is what everyone with a gts-t is using.

Car Needs Attention > What Should I Be Doing?
mad082 replied to WOG BOY's topic in General Automotive Discussion
it could be a leaking bov, or a crank angle sensor issue, or many other things, but start there. also check your spark plugs. -
the missus family is full of v8 lovers. her dad is a hot rodder. he used to go on about little turbo cars being crap. then he saw a few, and talked to a few guys that lived across the road from where he worked who had a gemini with a sr in it. he came home and said how it had run whatever time at the drags and i just turned to him and said that it was reasonably stock and that my 33 sitting in the front yard was stock. and the missus brother is sort of the same, but he knows that turbo's are quick, but i think he still thinks his very mild 202 torana will beat my old 33. although he did drive the 33 once and nearly lost it. he booted it taking off from the exhaust shop and had his hands full for most of first and second gear, lol.

Thinking Of Selling & Buying A My00 Rex

ok, so an xr6t isn't a quick point to point car but a wrx is? a wrx is quick from point to point if they 2 points are only far enough away that you just dump it in first and then stop before you grab the next gear. they only have good straight line performance figures cause they are AWD, so they get moving while a rwd sits in a cloud of smoke. i'd say an xr6t. they aren't that heavy on fuel, and they are super comfy, and go pretty darn well, and have an awesome sound. -
oh but they do, just ask a guy i know, LOL a mate of mine had a sigma that ran a 12.56, but according to this other guy, just because it ran a 12.56 that doesn't make it a 12 second car............

yeah but if everyone is working on minor mods, then someone else could go and do something different and build up a really strong motor, then bolt on the other peoples goodies and really kick some arse. and i am aware of the reason why they have pulled the motor out.
-
just get video surveilence, and then whenever someone does anything to your car take it to the cops.
-
minimum legal wheel size is 350mm, but it also must be no more than (i think) 15mm smaller than the standard wheel.
-
i heard the bov noise, but with a pod filter you will get that noise from the stock bov. my stock bov was annoyingly loud with a pod, and worse when i put an alloy CAI box on. first thing i'd be looking (whether you have atmo bov or not) is new spark plugs. my car did this when the old plugs were on their way out. it didn't pop or miss while on boost, but would stall when you lifted off. just get some NGK copper plugs BCPR6ES. they are about $4 each.
-
you mean that Mines, HKS, etc don't just get a bunch of guys to stand around the car looking at it and guessing what sort of cams, etc are in the motor? they actually pull it apart to look? so that is where i have been going wrong, LOL. LOL at anyone thinking the americans are stupid. i bet there are jap tuning companies with a gtr stripped bare.

if you want to see the proper list just go to http://www.topgear.com/content/tgonbbc2/laptimes/thestig/

so the gearbox in a $40,000 golf will shift in 0.008 of a second (that is 8 milliseconds), but the gearbox in a $100,000 gtr and ferrari's will only shift in 0.2+. seconds (200 milliseconds) wow. the golf must really be good. so good infact that it is 42 milliseconds quicker than a f1 car which takes 50 milliseconds (0.05 seconds). you will actually find that they are about 0.3 to 0.4 of a second for the golf. some other cars change speeds: enzo 0.15 seconds, audi 0.2 seconds and ferrari 575m 0.25 seconds and the acceleration of a tennis ball served by andy roddick from 0-150mph 0.35 seconds and lexus is claiming that their new box will have a shift time of 0.1 seconds.

also factor into having to replace the gearbox at every oil change, LOL. a guy i know with an earlier model wrx is on his 3rd box, but he gives it pretty hard time. -
i think that will partly depend on sales. if the f series sells outrageously well then they will probably keep it going for a while longer.

you also have to remember that all the fuel companies don't have a refinery in every state. so in some states they buy fuel of another company. so if the company supplying has an issue then that will effect 2 companies at the bowser.
