  1. Pics of the BOV? Got a mate who wants it, provided theres nothing special or unique in fitting it up (eg it uses the standard flange you can buy from autobarn) or isnt welded on or anything we will take it.

And you cant tell sarcasm when you see it. Good times.
  3. Theres a place called the bolt shop near where I live, might be worth a try.
  4. +1 I test drove a GTSt-4 32 before I baught the GTR, it was hopelessly slow.
  5. Oh, dont worry, im in no danger of changing my mind.... haha Holdens cars are good for what they are. There over-powered street cruisers meant to look good sound tough and get you laid. Jap sports cars on the other hand are meant to go fast, win races and make you hit people with soft foam hammers apparently...

They also look kinda silly and funny in there bright neon clown costumes pointing there "laser guns" down the road with super serious expressions on there face, similiar to what youd expect from a firing squad. I wounder if they have ever stopped to look at themselfs? As to why I own a gtr, its cause it looks fully shick when I go to pickup the milk bread and eggs, along with whatever else I print on the side of my car. Why else would I want a twin turbo 4wd 260 kw sports car to drive around on the streets?
  7. Why is it an unfair comparrision? dollar for dollar I expect they will be similiar. As to driving a new v8 RWD car, if someone would be so nice to offer one up for my driving enjoyment? Anyone here, anyone with a v8 dunnydoor... I drove a supercharged 6 pot commo not so long ago, it was, surprisingly, like a commo, only faster. It also wound up crashing on a gentle bend several months later. Then after that it ran up the arse of bumper to bumper traffic cause its breaks couldnt stop it in time. Well thats the drivers version anyway... Until I actually see something to change my mind, holden will always be competeing with heins hunter / whitley etc, if you get my drift...

    Speed Traps

Hot damn! Ouch! Anyway, no, the hand held radars only give speed. The cops have to chase you down and write you out a ticket. Coming back from gympie the other day I was trying to catch jarrad who had a lead on me, and I poped past a cop in a red highway patrol car, I *may* have been over the limit, im *not sure*. It wouldnt of been much tho, 10 km's max. Even if I was, he didnt seem to think it worth the bother. He was using one of the hand held guns. I got poped a few months back by an undercover with a mobile radar, ever since then I havent had the balls to speed like I usually do. I cop all sorts of road rage for being in a GTR that does the speed limit, but I dont have the points to withstand anything else. +1 - ive seen white and black vans and the old dirty patrols as well.

Yeah? Maybe things have changed since they went to the sauqld site, I never really bothered to sign up there. Not the best spot in the world to talk about this tho, it has a good chance of de-railing the thread. Gympie is a long way out, I dont know if I can be doing regular trips plus $100 or more, maybe once every now and then however. I wish we had better motorsport facilities in brisbane.
  10. mt cootha may as well be names mt cop, but I miiiiiiiiiiiiight come. Thursday night hecticity isnt really my scene, but ill have the gf with me and we might be looking for something to do.

Hey man I lost your MSN, can you swing it over? Was a good day, id love to do it again some time. The minor technicality that im not a paid SAU member anymore... I paid it for a year, didnt get anything really for my money and am a uni student these days so I cant throw cash around. Sorry.
  13. This bit seems directed at me, sooooooo Whats one of these things going to be worth? Lots? Sink half of it into a skyline and id be banking on the line. As to the 11 second quater mile, well lets wait until the facts are actually released. As to RWD being quicker then I think, well no I dont think RWD is slow at all, but that wasnt my point, my point is this car is nothing new in the holden book, they have just gone bigger, it seems the be the way they go every time. Its like the cheif engineer got a picture of the last holden V8, put it in paint, clicked and draged and said aha! I have it! In regards to the corners, I will believe hell has frozen over and the snowman is running amok downstairs before i believe holden and in particular HSV has built a large-block V8 that can compete with the japs round a bend. And as to RWD being better then AWD in the wet, well I personally doubt it, but hey, if you like it, go for it. Recently out at the gympie skidpan we did some timed runs around a course of witches hats in the wet. There was a few different cars there, including a much newer then my skyline monaro, and I was the only AWD car present. An unfair advantage no doubt, but I was still quicker then all the RWD cars. Infact, surprisingly, a 90ish hp FWD corrolla bog stock driven by a girl (not that girls cant drive, but they do love to stick it to the men) did better then half the RWD cars. I also had a go at some of the RWD cars and was utterly hopeless. I guess the GTR has taught me bad habits. A fair race would be a R35 GTR vs one of these things. To enter a 32/33/34 GTR (or gtst) into it, mods would have to come along to even the playing feild, but the older car would be more bang for buck no doubt. Also in regards to our cars being less efficent, I know of one 300ish awkw GTR (so about 340? rwkw) that was getting 400 - 450 km's to the tank. That cars getting repaired atm, tho not due to engine failure. Personally at 260ish awkw im getting 400 km's to the tank also, and my tune is richer then the packers. Not that I disrespect you for your opinions. I just dislike holden v8's and the "there is no replacement for cubes" arguement.

Ok, a much better download source is http://tinyurl.com/3e4be9 should be one whole download, hosted in aus, no adds etc etc.

    Gauges

Ive done both before and can help, but im on the brissie northside so its up to you if you want to travel. with the AFR gauge, you have two o2 sensors so which do you want it hooked up to? The boost gauge is a walk in the park, tho your the one whos running shit through the firewall as I have sensitive fingers haha.

So hold on, it works for some people but not others? Weird... Ive found a better option for somewhere to upload it to, hold on
  17. Howdy everyone I had my first day at a skidpan on sunday, up at gympie as apparently the folks out at mt cotton have over-senitive ears, I had a ball and learnt a thing or two about controlling skids. It can be found at: http://tinyurl.com/3e4be9 I think the vids cool have a look and let me know what you think. Bear in mind it was my first day at the skidpan and id never tried anything remotely like drifts before this. Regards Ian
  18. So... its another RWD v8 fule chewing monster from holden, whats new? I see nothing I havent seen before, except on a bigger scale. I still think the GTR will spank it, infact i reckon a moderatly tuned skyline GTR would give it a run for its money. And a particually well tuned GTST . 7L, its bound to be one heavy mofo, I reckon a MX5 would spank it silly around the track at a fraction of the price. I dont rate it, at all.
  19. Yeah read that, going to grab some stockings as well because im not overly keen on the idea of bits of the metal wool coming loose and going through my motor...
  20. Very helpful thanks Im now running the "100 % plummed back" option, I think its the safest, the others are bound to stuff with my tune and cruising.
  21. I thought vortex had a 98 octane raiting?
  22. Is it illegal even if theres a filter on the can? I was thinking of building a little box to put the filter in and then running the line out of that into the turbo inlet pipe. Would this work?
  23. No, it has 3 ports, 2 for the rocker vents and a filter on the top. I was thinking of pulling the filter off and running instead of the filter a line back to the turbo intake... The can is empty however, theres nothing in there. Will it still work?
  24. Hi all I have recently installed a catch-can to my 26 and have since had all sorts of weird hesitation / missfiring / random stalling. Heres how I have it plummed up (From left to right) Pipe from plenum area to drivers side breather: Left in place Both left and Right side breathers are now piped into catch can Pipe from passanger side cam breather to turbo intake pipes: Blocked Now from what I know, the pipe from the plenum side of things only opens on vacume, on boost it closes up, which is consistent with my problems only happening off boost. What I think is happening is that air is being sucked through the catch can into the intake manifold off boost and hence not going through the AFM's, causing my missfire etc issues? Most of the time, if the car missfires or gives flat spots, clutch in and rev's will fix it, or getting some boost into it will fix it. What I want to know is, if I put a 3rd line from the top of my catch can back into my intake piping, where the old pipe used to go, will this fix the issue and will the catch can still work? Thanks in advance Ian PS I have dodgy paint diagriams of what I mean, let me know if you need them...
  25. Hi Mate, injectors still for sale? Is there anything special about them eg different impedance to standard GTR's? Have they been flow tested? km's? I'll ring tomorrow, bit late atm.
