  1. I'm only 32 I've just got a good memory for crap. And I've never driven a metro!
  2. Did we? Don't remember them, mind you Forces TV in Germany was 1 channel, so if they were around '75-'80 or '85-'90 I probably wouldn't have seen them. We used to get most programs a week late, so any that had competitions we were stuffed, as we normally got to watch them the day after the competition closed. I remember BraveStarr, but not when it was on, would it pre-date "G-Force - Battle of the Planets"? Who could forget the inspiring opening narration? "Battle of the Planets! G-Force, five incredible young people with superpowers! And watching over them from Centre Neptune, 7-Zark-7! Watching, warning against surprise attacks by alien galaxies from beyond space. G-Force! Fearless young orphans, protecting Earth's entire galaxy. Always five, acting as one. Dedicated! Inseparable! Invincible!" (Yes I did have to look that up!) And then we could get onto the likes of 'Blake's 7'........
  3. Happy birthday mate!! Remember - Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional!
  4. Too late, I already nominated you (All round good effort while injured, and especially for the James flapping pic)
  5. Copied from http://www.howies.co.uk/content.php?xId=103&xPg=1 You do not need a 4.8 litre 360hp V8 engine to take Betsy and Josh to school. You do not need 200mm of ground clearance to clear a traffic- calming speed hump. Hampstead-Wandsworth is not Paris-Dakar. You are not about to invade a mountainous desert kingdom. You do not need to park your vehicle on a pile of rocks outside the dealer when it needs a service, even if that is what attracted you to buy it in the first place. You do not have the right to make yourself feel safer by driving a car with 2.4 tonne of engine aimed directly at another driver's head. You do not need to drive a vehicle that is twenty-seven times more likely to kill the occupants of a vehicle hit by a normal car. You do not need Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, Hill Descent Control or Trailer Stability Control to negotiate the Tesco supermarket car-park, even in the rain. You will never, ever need the ability to tow 3,500kg back from Tesco. Seven out of eight of you will never drive off-road. Only two out of five will take your car out of town. It's not a jungle out there. It's a traffic jam. You are not driving a Sports Utility Vehicle. You are driving a: Socially Unacceptable Vehicle.

    Deca Wind Up

Nothing like a mix of beer, large margeritas, and bourbon to make for an interesting night. Doing the timekeeping thing was good fun during the day, I can recommend getting involved to anyone who's just going up to spectate. James' intoduction of the new Taco Bills girl as "the one with the massive cans" was priceless. I wish I'd had a video camera to film Juz trying to get Mario out of Age's butt crack....... I don' think I will ever forget the carpet in that club though, I didn't think carpet could get that sticky My pics are up, I'll post a few later.... Click here for some pics!
  9. Is it just me who can't see the thumbnails? Clicking the pic brings up the full size pic OK, it's just the thumbnails in the post I can't see. (monopods are much easier to move around with at motorsport type events)
  10. I wasn't there for a long time, so didn't take many pics. What I have is here - http://www.pbase.com/willstark/sandown120806
  11. OK, Time to sound totally unobservant and unaware, but what scratchies? I filled up with ultimate on Sunday ($70 worth) and all I got was a receipt
  12. I would love to give blood, but I'm an ex-pom (I'll have them know I'm as sane as the next coffee table) I donated every 3 months in the UK, when I was a student I did it just for the free biscuits. It doesn't hurt, hitting your funny bone hurts more. I would describe it as a mild stinging sensation at worst, and thats from the the local numbing injection, you don't feel the big needle. The great thing is my partner can't donate either, being an ex-pom as well, but she's been vegetarian for the past 19 years, is the UK supposed to have mad spud disease as well or something?
  13. cln - Love the pic in your sig
  14. My pictures are online at http://www.pbase.com/willstark/drift_4_dummies. (culled the 550 pics down to 110 ) I haven't got time to put up my favourites here, might do it tomorrow.
  15. Was awesome to watch, I've got over 500 pics to sort through! I've never seen so many big grins as when some of you had the one run where you got it to work pefectly. Commiseration Peter, just proves that peer pressure is one of the most dangerous substances in the universe.
  16. Fair enough, they look great, overlapping would have looked very wrong. Good work peoples . I'll just have to stop being lazy and put the two bits on seperately I could really have made something of my life if I wasn't so bone idle.
  17. Yep, both bits are nice. I did think it was going to be a 3 way jacket though, so the vest would zip into the jacket (like the picture at the beginning of the thread, the one with the grey side panels), but mine doesn't. Were they supposed to?

  19. I have a space saver, but it was off a Rex, so I'm not sure if the stud pattern is different.
  20. I didn't bother with RACV, I had a VACC acredited place do the last car (couple of weeks ago). Went to a Repco branded place (Cox Automotive, South Melb), that did a much more thorough check, had wheels off etc to check discs/pads, I'm not sure the RACV would have spotted that the steering rack bushes needed replacing.
  21. Don't know any free ones, but Pbase (www.pbase.com) is only AU$61 ish for 400 MB for a year, dead easy to use, nice loking galleries etc, and ad free. You can get a 10 MB 30 day trial for free. I've got an account there (http://www.pbase.com/willstark) and so does Joel (http://www.pbase.com/joelstrick).
  22. Missing the Rex club meeting then Age? Shame on you. I'll be there (errr, the SAU one, not the Rex club one, shame on me too, but I want my jacket ) On the plus side it's a short walk from my flat, so I can have a few beers.
  23. Yep, just what I was going to say. I spit in my dive mask, rub it all over inside of the lens, then rinse in seawater before putting it on. Note: This may prove impractical for in car use. I just set the fan to high speed, heater to high, and air source to fresh (not re-circulate). If you have re-cric set, you're just reusing the moisture laden air inside the car (from breath, having just come out of the gym or whatever), fresh brings in the moisture free (as it's cold) air from outside. This clears car within seconds. Warm air can contain more moisture than cold air, so when the warm air inside the car hits the cold windscreen, it cools down, and can't contain all the moisture it has, so dumps it on the inside of the screen. Blowing hot (fresh) air over the inside warms up the windscreen, and as it's got a low relative humidity (moisture free cool air heated up, can then contain more moisture, so the RH goes down), it also takes up the moisture that is on the screen already. As a bonus, it's warm air so won't freeze your nuts off.
  24. Your wish is my command A few pics taken by someone in the Rex club for me......
