  1. Bummer! It's horrible when you see something coming and you can't do anything about it. That seat is scary, I'm glad you're OK, if that had been anything worse you would have been in trouble.
  2. The complimentary bit is where Brisby sidles up to you in The Local with a gleam in his eye, looks your drink and says "My, that looks like a nice blue drink"
  3. Politicians, never seen one that I believe yet, they're all as bad as each other. It's not so much voting for who I like, as voting for who I dislike the least.
  4. Me either. Can't donate as I'm an ex pom and probably suffering mad cow disease. I used to donate in the UK, but can't over here (neither can my partner, and she's been a vegetarian for 20 years, must be mad spud disease). Given the choice of bleeding to death or taking some blood that comes from someone that may have eaten british beef, I think my choice would be to take the risk. Juz, the needles are nothing, just don't look. I've seen someone faint after giving blood, the girl insisted she was fine, stood up too rapidly too soon, and promptly fainted in a heap on the floor.
  5. OK, didn't want to pollute the other thread with a big list of pictures, so I put them here instead... (I probably have pics of most people from some point, so feel free to request any) Rest of the pics are here http://www.pbase.com/willstark/deca181106 A few of my favourite pics from the weekend..... Hold on to your hat.... There was some off-roadi.... ....a fair bit of cone killing.... (James, you’re supposed to stop before driving out of the back of the garage) The award for cone transported the furthest goes to.... Watch what you’re doing Dan.... You gotta love being able to shoot 5 frames a second (Juz may not think so).... …and of course plenty of tyre smoke (go the commo wagon).... ....and a couple more just ‘cos I like them.... James proves that red cars don’t really go faster (and also lost to Troy as well)… Remember to look cool at all times.... Go the Mo!!
  6. The close ups of james (and Alans) cars were pretty wide angle. I had 2 lenses with me, a 17-85mm (17ish gave the really wide look) and a 100-400mm for the telephoto track stuff.
  7. OK, I managed to cull the 980ish pics down to 160, which are here...... http://www.pbase.com/willstark/deca181106 I'll post up a few favourites tomorrow.
  8. I'm still sorting through my pics (serves me right for taking over 980). First off.....
  9. If you look really closely you can also see a car in the picture apparently!
  10. If you had any photos of attractive women from Autosalon, I might be agreeing with you......
  11. 5 min kms, so you're aiming to do the Tan in sub 19:35 (Tan being 3.87 km)? I've never managed a sub 20 min circuit, usually just either side of the 21 min mark, with the second circuit slightly slower. (I'm not much of a runner, H could do it faster on her own probably if she didn't have to drag me around) I've got a mate at work who's a footy umpire (VFL level), and one of their fitness tests is to do the Tan sub 15 minutes, so they aim for 14 to be safe. How much does this modern wonder of pointlessness cost? (not much use to me though, I have an iPod mini )
  12. Surely as they are the final judges the committee should be banned from entering?
  13. I hate it when people get new cars, it makes me want one and I haven't had the one I've got very long. Very nice James, is it better than the Lada off road though? (probably yes as it's more reliable)
  14. Helen agrees. This pretty much sums up the massages
  15. Happy B'day Bec, hope it was a good one (and you don't feel too hungover today)
  16. Yep, possibly the only one that is worse is the Sport (Daily and Sunday), I would never trust any so called newspaper that has a nipple count.
  17. I filled in the form for my licence at DECA last Nov, and it arrived in Feb, so if you need it you'd best cahse them. Also, for some reason, me and my partner filled in the form on the same day, hers arrived a few days after mine in Feb, but expires a couple of weeks after mine will, so their idea of a year is obviously a bit variable as well.
  18. I got his number, sent you a PMwith it.
  19. I can recommend Chris, he has a V.I.P. Car Care Detailing franchise in SE suburbs, I'll try and get his number. Or you could go to the WRX club site and send him a message, his user name is 'tigerking'. A lot of the rex club guys have used him (ask Age or Joelstrick, they know him), and recommend him. He even pulls his gear around with his yellow Rex.
  20. You may have a point, I have absolutely no idea what she does........ Probably should have thought about that first!
  21. I'm tipping Juz is the only one with the 5 star luxury and hot and cold running chauffeurs. I got the local motel (mmm Budget chain) and an Avis commodore. The man has hit the nail on the head. If you're there to work, you don't get much time to do other stuff (at least I don't), work wants you to cram 2 weeks work into 1 week to save them money. I mainly get to go to airbases, which are built where the land is cheap, ie in the middle of bloody nowhere, miles from everywhere else. hmmmm...wonder if Juz wants to swap jobs for a week?
  22. Just keep aiming for the knee, you don't want to kill him, constant pain and immobility would be more amusing (though probably not for Bree). or to cause him real distress, spray his car red, then dye all his yellow clothes to match.
  23. Yep, used to do that quite often, usually the 6am Monday flight. Travel to Nowra was normal for a couple of years, haven't been anywhere for a while now. Gotta love the day trips, The last one I did was an up at 4, 6am flight, 2.5 hour drive Syd to Nowra, 3 hour test flight, then drive back to airport and fly home, got home at about 7:00. Work day was 13ish hours, with about 4 of them being work, 5.5 hours in the air, 6 in cars (cabs & hire) and most of the rest in airports, never saw the inside of an office. Travelling isn't that much fun, I always end up doing long hours, so could be anywhere really and wouldn't make a difference. I was staying in beach side holiday units, and didn't realise how close to the beach they were until half way through the second week, which was the first time I got to see them in daylight.
  24. Crikey Chief! (Available on DVD from Minataur on Elizabeth Street in the city. I bought some, bought back some memories, still find them funny)
