  1. Ah that sucks! So its not the filter itself but the fitting to the afm is not the right shape?? Can you send it back and get a refund or another one? Surely thats a manufacturers fault.
  2. Tao, Great work the latest SS1PU looks fantastic, torque from 3500rpm and 280rwkw on 98, well done! The SS3 development is interesting too. Have you tried the SS1PU on the aftermarket exhaust manifold yet? Would be interesting to see the difference it makes. SargeRX8, Using an external wastegate is better at controlling boost and normally sees power gains due to removing heat etc. I cannot see how an external wastegate can loose power over internal. Why are you blaming the Apexi pod filter? I run one with no issues, so do many others on this forum. Fix up your intake pipe to 3" metal with as little bends as possible. I tried reading what you have done and I cant understand what your saying. The intake pipe is vital to making power. Do not use any part of the standard intake piping.
  3. How have you proven that your apexi pod has let you down? Did you take the filter off on the dyno and there was a large power difference?
  4. The GTR airboxes are different. A Gtt or gtst airbox will not make 350rwkw. I am using an Apexi Pod with no issues and making good power (245rwkw on 98 and 280rwkw on E85).
  5. 420rwhp from a GT35 0.82 with 23psi that is terrible. You should be able to make that with a GT30 turbo with 1000rpm better response. I would put more focus on the supporting mods like a free flowing intake and exhaust and a quality intercooler. These supporting mods will be even more important when you do go 3L+.
  6. I assume you mean for an internally gated setup on the stock manifold, not going to get into that argument there are a million threads on that. For an aftermarket manifold with an external wastegate (which this thread owner is doing) then I reckon Simon with his T67 combo has the best setup.
  7. Completely different turbos, the smaller G2 hypergear with 0.63 housing would be out of efficiency much above 19psi whereas the T67 would love it!
  8. There is no way in hell I would run a 3" afm in the intake of a 4" front GT3582R!!
  9. What size intake does your GT35 turbo have 3 or 4"?
  10. Z32 afm retails for $300+. Plus you have the cost of nistune or a PowerFC. A PowerFC alone costs more than one of these ecus. The price of a nistune + z32 afm and you are at the same or more cost as this map ecu.
  11. What cars do you know that are running 350-400rwkw through a single 3" afm in the intake?
  12. I am assuming the turbo intake is 4", if so I wouldnt put a 3" afm in the intake, too restrictive on that sort of turbo. Yeah as said above exhaust will be restrictive, both cat and catback.
  13. For a start you get rid of a possible restriction in the intake (4" intakes here we come), there are different issues with running the afm in the cooler piping such as getting too much oil in it, this also means people dont have to buy pricey Z32 afms, MAP is less affected by driveability issues like blow off valves. Most bigger hp cars seem to have MAP ecus.
  14. That is very low power for -5s on 98 fuel. I would fix whatever the issue is holding that back. Should be able to make around 350rwkw on 98 first. 318 is -7 or -9 power. Whatever restriction you have may be holding back your E85 results in a more significant way.
  15. How did the KU36s get 7/10 in the wet?? my experience was they were very ordinary. I would loose traction just lightly accelerating and that was even once the tyres were warmed up. I have changed to the falken rt615 tyres and I find them fantastic. They are as grippy as the KU36 in the dry but a lot better in the wet, even now that the tread is quite low.
  16. That does sound VERY dubious. Why would the fact it has a T3 or T4 flange change the flow unless the T3 flange was actually limiting flow?? Whereas a twin scroll T4 turbo for example has 2 smaller separate paths for air to flow all the way through the turbo, not just at the flange. My understanding is the flange just has to be big enough so as not to be a restriction in comparison to the flow the turbo can deliver. I dont know of any rb30s with precision turbos. What do 2JZ supras with precision turbos run?
  17. Your exhaust is on the small side. Rough guide on here is 3" for 300rwkw, 3.5" for 350rwkw and 4" for 400rwkw+. What power did it make on 98?
  18. Another great result. The latest one looks more like an SS1.8 More response than the first SS2 but also less power. Didnt the first SS2 make ~316rwkw?
  19. Car looks great. As you have mentioned best way to quieten exhaust but still keep a great sound is add as many large bodied straight through oval mufflers as is required to meet your sound requirments.

    Yup exactly, same here.
  21. Each state organisation have a list on whether they accept cars that have been certified from each state. Vic definitely wont accept qld. I know that WA does accept cars that have been certified in VIC.
  22. My understanding is the twin scroll housings are roughly one size larger than the single scroll variants. So 0.82 single scroll is roughly equal to 1.06 Twin Scroll. So a 0.86 twin scroll might still be too small for a 3.0L, as it would equate to somewhere around a 0.7 single scroll which is too small. I would recommend either a 0.8X single scroll or a 1.06 twinscroll.
  23. Geeze it sounds bloody hardcore for a daily!!! Or do you mean it will do events and track days but you want it to be daily as well?
  24. I just swapped over my Fujitsubo cannon for a 12 x 8 x 18 inch straight through di fillippo muffler. Still got the rb sound but quietened it up a lot and would barely affect flow if at all. Absolutely love it. I spoke to Racepace and that was there advice get the biggest straight through quality muffler/s you can fit.
