  1. id estimate it as being 0.5" but seriously... a 3" dump would be nice, but its more money. i personally dont think its worth it.
  2. i duno, i just remember watching the dyno comp for 3 hours on saturday and seeing nothing too inspiring. that included the R33 GTR making a HUGE 250rwhp....
  3. yeh love all the SR20s in the dyno comp 199hp 201hp 203hp 200hp
  4. yeh thats also an option, i was quoted $500 for a 'remap' here in perth
  5. it may also be running rich due to the fuel curve you can repgram this using the cheap option SAFC/E-Manage or the expensive one, a full replacement computer
  6. never looked at a GTR engine bay with a cold air box in mind, but i made one for my car without any outside help. get a sheet of cardboard and a sheet of aluminium. use the cardboard to make a 'fake' one (is easy cos cardboard bends and can jam it into gaps etc to get a perfect fit. then cut out one from aluminium with a jigsaw, you have a cold air box!
  7. troy, is it? tell me more...
  8. i know 3 people with it, but theyre all on V8s. i dont know anyone running it on a turbo... could be a good idea to overcome the lag due to a big T88
  9. i cant afford the insurance on my car so have 3rd party fire n theft from Suncorp Meway. costs me $252 a year, and in the event of an accident it covers everything (car and property) except for my own car. i personally think thats the way to go if you are unable to pay $2000 a year or more for insurance. once im 21 im gunah try again, ive never had an accident so hopefully in 2 years time ill get a decent quote on insurance... and about posting a video on the net, the chances of an insurance company coming across that.... well.... and for $3.5K the assessors have probably forgotten who you are now with the amount of repair bills they have to account for per year.
  10. i feel sorry for you boostzor!!! i know you probably dont want to relive this... but did you just overcorrect too much? or just drifted the back out a little too far...
  11. joe your a c*nt!!!! "no we cant stop" good bloke!!!!
  12. PHATT 300zx was funny today, he let rip on the motorkhana strip!! that and the speedworks R34 were the highlights other than that, same old shit really. someone needs to do something different in perth. stagea/chasers look promising under the new import scheme!!
  13. as i said before the most you can run is 12psi (safely) otherwise the shaft speed will be too fast for the turbo which will cause the exhaust wheel to d/c and end up in your exhaust!
  14. with std intercooler youre best setting the boost to 10-12psi. so what youve got it at is fine. any more and the exhaust wheel will d/c from shaft and end up in your exhaust pipe if you want more power get an AFC (air flow converter) such as the Apexi S-AFC. make sure you have a better intercooler b4 running more boost. (std is very inefficicent) if you have the right fuelling and management, the RB25 can handle over 300rwhp, but your turbo will die before your engine
  15. i dont think you need one joe
  16. as has been said surge tanks are used to provide constant supply of fuel to a large fuel pump. there are no horsepower gains but many people recommend them when installing a bigger fuel pump, especially if that fuel pump is too big for the std tank. it would only be neccessary if a)doing trackwork and needing constant supply of fuel given corenering etc b)have big fuel system and pump which is external and requires a surge tank
  17. you run a 13.7!! good work, is that on std intercooler/turbo?
  18. i only talked to the mechanic on the phone. was booked the car in for a AFC tune. it goes in next friday(damn auto salon) so will find out then
  19. it was too hot to touch yesterday! hehe if there is a gasket leak, would this go away when heated? manifold isnt cracked and theres no bolts missing/loose what if it is oil? what if it is water? what do these things point to?
  20. anyone??
  21. yeh the last thing i need is a curse! things keep going wrong on their own! my car would probably spontaneously combust if i tried to bcome a 'cruise nazi'
  22. count me in! dont have the time to organise one though, damn uni work!
  23. ive spoken to quite a few people and its supposed to be normal so im not stressed. speaking to ross today i told him about my clutch as my mate didnt want one which drove like that. he said its normal for them to shudder slightly in 1st and reverse when riding out the clutch and for that reason he doesnt recomend them
  24. went today @ lunchbreak. mate chose the organic one with 2500 pressure clamp. this was based purely on his budget, hopefully it will work out alright yeh i got a 5puck daiken from clutch factory in welshpool, it shudders and is a bitch to drive however this is apparently what happens to all 5pucks, so i cant complain about clutch factory
  25. ok home from work. got under the car and theres a bit of moisture around one of the exhaust to block manifolds. which could indicate a leak however if it was an exhaust leak wouldnt it get worse with heat? would it be fair to conclude this is a lifter problem?
