How to get rid of that annoying F*cking beep!
Col-GTSX replied to JAPCAB's topic in General Maintenance
LOL... Reverse beeps... Sorry i had to bring it up u reminded me... I was at the shops yesterday and a little old lady got into her excel... Typical... Anyways she wacks it in reverse... and the loudest reverse beeper i have ever heard (and i work round forklifts all day) started blaring from the car... Everyone pointed and laughed and looked at her... She pulls out next to me and says... get this "Can you hear that too, it may just be a touch too loud". I laughed so loud and she says "My husband put something on the car the other day, thats when the beeping started and he told me its to help me from hitting anyboday, again." I cracked up again and asked her what happened. She was backing out of a car space at the shops and hit a trolley and thought it was a person, so she stopped and looked. While that was happening she left her hand brake off and the car rolled away on her and hit a wall. So her husband put the sirens on to clear people away from the car so she needs no worry about hitting anyone. Funniest thing ive had this month... Sorry but i needed to get that one out... LOL -
130km/h speedo
Col-GTSX replied to Amaru's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Interesting idea... Flash back... I can remember shopping for a new car with dad when i was like 7 (1980's) and he was looking round the car yard for a suitable family car. I was looking at the spedo's on every car and saying to dad this one can go 200kph... no wait this one can go 260kph... hold on this one can go 280kph... I thought that this was the top speed of the motor vehicle... (Remember i was only 7)... If only life was still so simple... LOL -
I just bought a S2 from the importer... paid 24k Is worth every cent... Have not seen another S2 for that money in perfect condition and it comes with 3 month warranty. My last skyline needed $3000 work 6 days after i bought it... The ECU feed back and killed just about every sensor... So i really wanted a warranty this time... I really wanted an R34 GTT but the price is very high cause there in high demand atm... Ill wait 3 years then upgrade again...

just a quick question tho... The plastic insert for the bottom din... How does that go in... and do you need to buy the nissan one or is it just a standard insert you had to screw in??
-
When i put mine in i had a slight RPM difference... AVC-R says 3000rpm dash says 3100rpm... I didnt worry about it too much... As for boost setting i remember a difference for twin turbo's. Its not the same setup if i remember correctlly. Also i found raising the duty cycle the boost bounced around too much... boost spiking was a problem so i was happy with a boost level of .75 and duty to 61% and i got 12psi constant...

Wanted. Working R32 AFM Will pay $50 Is for experiment that may make alot of difference to r32 skyline owners. (Note: I think i have found a way to turn your AFM into a Z32 AFM for bout $16. This is a difficult install and i need another one to see if my monkey can do it following my instructions. If this is sucessful i will share this infomation free of charge. The best part is all the bits needed to do this conversion can be found at your local hardware store.) Call me 0433 123 024 Would prefer to pick up in Bris if possible

yeah... iagree 15 is fair for a first run.... As you master the shift and launch control you can get it down... First run eva (stock as a rock) 14.8 Today (no rock unturned) 12.9 Goning to be a jamboree this year... Have done a few more bits. Last years efent gave me ideas, so i have spent the money and done the wrench time and with propper nitto tyres we are aiming for a sub 12. My goal is 11.9 (just under that way i have reached my goal) I could easily say i wanta do a 4.5 second quarter, but that aint gonna happen. Unless a top fuel team straps another seat onto their car and asks me if ill go for a ride... LOL Hey would be funny to have an idiot on a skateboard hanging onto the rear spoiler.... HEHE He would most likely be a jackass....

Hey all... Have been digging round for like 20 minutes now and still cant find what im looking for. If i post it here i know the responce will be in like 5 minutes. Description: RB20det silver top motor Timing belt P/N: ?????? Rough cost ?????? Oh and one other thing, what gear box oil do you suggest for an R32 5 speed??? (Note: I called Nissan this morning and was asked am i buying it or pricing it, I said pricing to start with and he said call back when you are ready to buy. So i called back 2 seconds later and gave him a serve, I said well i need to know how much for this stuff or i will not know how much i need. His responce was "You bloody little shits with skylines call all the time and ask for prices and never buy anything" then he hung up. So i wrote a nice little email to the dealership in question.)

So it is confirmed the rb20det motor will use an aussie delivered r31 skyline rb30 water pump....

Drifterrrrrrrrrr Nice detail on the engine bay.... Typical Jap Drifter.... (Nice paint/interia, but under the bonnet is always a different story) -
Hummmmmmmmmm.... Why does one sell a car that has problems???? Dont u think he would be better off fixing the clutch and turbos and getting a good price for it??? My tip, if you cant even drive it due to a stuffed clutch, then what else is wrong and if it has 400hp how come its so cheap. 400hp cars in general fetch high prices. Also as a first turbo car my suggestion is to get a stock r32 (when i say stock, FMIC, Pod, TT, little bits and pieces wont hurt). Just get one with original computer and motor type... ie RB20det. That way if something goes wrong you can have all of us to help you out....
-
Once again... i cant come... As i work the life of retail, where you have to work every weekend. (EVERY) Have not had a weekend for over 18months now....
-
yeah i was gonna mention the laders..... Poor bugger that has to get down there every oil change to pick up the metal shavings... LOL The shavings would be as big as a bumper for a car.... Imagine the sump plug.... 1 tonne
-
I also think it may be a little neater to put it else where, other than have it hang out as they do. As you know a neat engine bay it second to performance tho....
-
Most would think that the elbow type fitting would restrict flow, however its the closest point to the butterfly so, reduced flow (not like u would notice) is better than having a BOV 5 metres from the butterfly....
