  1. Did you double the value of the trailers insurance?
  2. Fatz, I'm shocked that even you let him leave using that as a tow vehicle... Even for an empty trailer only!
  3. How long till someone makes a stroker kit for it? Or forgies...
  4. I'm someone who even hates having different brands on different axles... Makes the cars wander around if there is the slightest difference in how the different tyres are made.
  5. You are bored aren't you? Do you want me to give you an LS1 to pull down, check up on and put back together? You can bump the compression a little bit if you want...
  6. That's why I said big sticky tyres AND a clutch dump... Edit: It was also someone that I'd met a few times before, I was more looking for confirmation on the time.
  7. Yep, just confirmed, BA/BF XR6 is SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW compared to the FG XR6T... LOL And yeah, they do feel like they've got a lot more to give, the FG spools up even sooner then that BA/BF by using an even smaller front! I've been doing ALOT of reading on the XR6T, and some very simple things net a BIG increase in 1/4 mile time, and that's the removal of torque management, and getting rid of the flat torque curve they have... That and on the FG turn the OverBoost (Setup by ford for use on the roll for upto 5 seconds to aid overtaking) on all the time... (Adds 10% more boost) But, back to the NAs... Big Sticky tyres and a HUGE clutch dump with a good LSD/locked diff will get you off the line, but, I'd be running drag radials if I was you, gives a bit of flex and will take *some* stress off the driveline... I tried to find the place I was reading about the EF falcon time, but it was so long ago I can't find the thread on another forum
  8. Or the whole SAU for sale section where you'll get more attention...
  9. Because we're all mind readers and know how much you want for it...
  10. I'd be looking at diff gears. Especially if it isn't a daily driver and is more a weekender/WSID Warrior. Go to a much shorter diff, re learn the launch on shorter diff, and use more of 4th gear. There will be many gains to be had here.
  11. I'm going to add in that if I were a P Plater, and I wanted to drag, I'd be looking at the EF range of XR6 falcons... I've seen one dead stock, and it ran mid 14 out of the box... Nothing done at all... As for the FG XR6, I honestly think they're "slow", but then again, I went and bought the FG XR6T instead... Although, even it feels slow, it's just amazing watching the speedo fly up so quickly...
  12. Stop picking up Soccer Mums and get back to work on this shit! I want an update!
  13. They are!
  14. As Duncan mentions, it is normal operation for any vehicle. Depending on how good your eye sight is, on cars that run a double filament globe instead of two separate bulbs, you can even see that the filaments change which one is emitting light. On dual globed cars it's super easy.
  15. No no! It was only meant to be new turbos at that stage... Poor drunk man... Although, Drunkman is good to have a beer with too!
  16. Close to 2Tonne? Are you packing chiauhuas as people? Supposedly they're 1750 odd empty, throw 68 litter of fuel in plus the Ther extra weight that ends up in them, and only 2 people with out luggage an you breach 2T... 4 people and luggage is easy 2.2T I reckon. Maybe I should put mine over the weigh station...
  17. Yeah, but my 14.3 comes at the fun leaving pretty much everything for dead at the lights... Lol... The XR6T are economical, quite surprisingly! But I don't think it will be as good as te TD when towing, but the gains I make $$$ wise daily driving will far out weigh the TD benefit when towing. As to that hill Chubbs, it was mrs interesting going up it and having to google what a certain flashing light meant... Turns out we had to stop and let the trans cool down... Least the ford told us it was hot... The same vintage commodore would have just had the gearbox implode...
  18. Just for Harry: One tank of fuel, primarily used around town, with a couple of very short stints on the freeway (Less then 5 mins each trip, about 6 trips, so at 100KM/H that's 50KM worth of freeway, but the main one I use is 80/90 ) It took: 55.81L And I managed: 480.8KM So on those figures, average 11.6L/100KM Or if you still want to claim that it's 5% over read, I would have done 457.9KM, so that still means 12.2L/100KM. It's funny isn't it... My mainly around town figure is LOWER then the claimed combined figure, yet alone the "urban only" figure of 16.7L/100KM... At the end of Feb I'm driving to Melbourne with 2 other mates + Luggage in the car, I'll do my pure highway fuel economy then for you and post it up, you'll just have to wait roughly 6 weeks.
  19. Have you compared it with a properly R&D manifold that doesn't have the dual openings at all? Your comparison is of that inlet being full open VS closed. That doesn't tell us if it is any better then a normal single inlet manifold.
  20. Or duct tape to keep it in?
  21. Don't know about you... But both reece and I beat him in the battles...
  22. XR6T wins on comfy seat. Not hard like most sports cars, lumbar support is good, electrical tilt and height and blah blah blah. Is good... Lol
  23. When i drive my tow car daily... YES!
  24. I'm pondering putting the orange beast in this...
  25. Go and give MDTC a run. If the S13 is well sorted suspension wise, you'll have an absolute ball!
