  1. I want pics of the black one...
  2. You guys do realise the Oil Pump and the Cam backing plate have the timing marks on it so you don't need to mark timing belts and what not, right?
  3. LOL, just read the regs about how point score works... So basically in a single day, you actually race in 3 events... Might as well give points per session people go out... Also, the Holdens, and Mitsubishis and everything else aren't elegible for point score. They're not elegible for the competition...
  4. LOL, no they don't run a 3.8L. They run a 3.6 Alloytec, and a multitude of gearboxes which alter the performance. If we're getting into this one, on a good run, the Honda Jazz will out do certain Alloytec V6 Commos to 80KM/H... The real test is that it will be beaten by the commo on the 1/4 mile. I've seen many 300 and 400RWKW cars get munched in a traffic light GP, purely because they're a pig to get off the mark, but once above 100KM/H they really mumbo. The 0-100KM/H is HUGELY dependent on the launch...
  5. I think you'd find they've either been on a call out, or doing RBT.
  6. Double entered with him ^^^
  7. Get a loan PS: I'm sitting in mine at the moment... mounts should be being made next week... I currently have my feet up on what was the dash...
  8. Quite true there Chris, I keep thinking more in terms of track vehicles, where as you're in the street build side. On the street it won't be too bad, as you're not hounding it. I'm going to be remounting gauges up in a more "visible" area in my peripheral as I'll be tracking it alot.
  9. Also, natio park, look out for the kangaroo and deer... Stupid Deer are suicidal!
  10. I have the plans sitting on my desk waiting... And I figure once the R33 gets bent, it's being stripped out and most parts reused in it... Including the 5.7...
  11. I have my boost gauge down there, and there is a MAJOR problem, it's WAYYY out of your peripheral vision. Either on the A-Pillar, or in the cluster/above/beside it. Down in the console is wayyyy too far out of view.
  12. There is nothing wrong with yellow jackets. They work as well as split fires and brand new nissan coils. In fact, my Yellow Jackets withstood more abuse then my split fires did before one melted... Also, it won't be the plugs if he's swapped the coil packs and it has fixed said issue...
  13. If you were at SAU:NSW Christmas dinner last year with Alan Heaphy and Jim Richards, you'd understand why...
  14. Just to add on Terry's "Set of 4". You have to be VERY careful when doing these. The ONLY one of these roads I haven't come across Kangaroos on is Macquarie Pass. Everywhere else is full of them! (I nearly took two out in one go on Jamberoo Mountain Road 5 nights ago and I was 20 under the limit on the straightest bit of road on this trip)
  15. Who were cruising above the speed limit... The big thing to remember if you do organise one of these, unlike SAU:NSW cruises, you are NOT covered by public liability insurance.
  16. Can I borrow her GTR then? Promise to keep it under 6000RPM...
  17. As ZEB said, it could be all fine. Normally when a motor drops comp, not all of the cylinders drop the same amount. If they're all equal it sounds like a nice clean spec from when it was built. Is it blowing blue smoke once warm? What made you test it?
  18. A question, why did you try so had to shove RB30 mounts in? I'm assuming RB26/30DETT is being built, but most people just mod the rb25 mounts to slot the motor down... What're you expecting vibration to be like with out much rubber?
  19. The cool kids are buying LS1s too...

    Drag Day

And if all of these cars that are going to be ready get booted... There'll be alot of passes for the 5 people that aren't going to go too quickly...
  21. I'm not sure how big your helmet is, but I'm sure as hell mine only covers my head. I still have my arms, legs, and torso to worry about... You know that area that has all bar one of your vital organs? If you stack a car at 150KM/H, and a 2KG object comes loose (The weight of most objects) it is like being hit by a brick wall... Even a mobile phone coming loose in a 100KM/H crash is enough to kill someone if it hits you in certain locations. There is a reason that the tracks have a "NO LOOSE OBJECTS" policy. Secondly, if it's just not tuned on timing, who gives a fark, so long as it doesn't ping at anything above 3500RPM... Even half the race cars out there don't data log shit!
  22. So you'd be running mid field at least Neil... Bit of fun back there!
  23. It's still going to have a better weight bias then a GTR though... Tyre limitations is another thing though, but I'd definitely be putting rear brembos on, other wise you're WAYYYY over braking the front compared to the rear.
  24. The 450 would be lighter then the previous motor yeah? It's an alloy block right? Either way, the GTR is a more nose heavy car then a 180 or GTS-t ever will be. It's got the extra diff, transfer case and assorted bits up front...
