Sydneykid - would you recomend that i buy only the shocks from you for now to fix the issue or at least make it a bit better untill i can afford the whole kit or would the new shocks get worn out quickly as well if i dont use the rest of the kit?

thaks for the warning im in north sydney and its getting bloody cloudy here and starting to rain a bit my car is parked outside in the west so hopefully i can get there in time. might sneek out of work a bit early and say a relative is in trouble... well i wouldnt b lying would i hahahahahahaha

yeah after reading the link SK posted im suspecting the shocks as well coz the car has about 65k kms on the clock and i got it with the springs so i dont know for how many kms the lowered springs have been on it so therefore the shocks could be stuffed. also its weird how the car has urathine bushes but only in the front??? cheers for your thoughts....

thanks for your reply. i was thinking about the hicus as well but on sunday i was realy going very slow so even if the rear wheels turned a bit it would turn gradualy and i would feel the rear coming around and corect it but this was very sudden as if someone took the tyres of the back and i was left with only rims lol...

thanks for that mate. i will definitly look into getting your group buy package as soon as i have a bit of spare money (should be few months) untill then no other mods for me and extremly safe driving. just a quick qusetion why does it do this only in the wet but in the dry its fine. in the dry i can take corner at ok speeds and there might be a bit of power oversteer if i want but if i dont the car behalves itself? also what alignment setting should i give the guy on the weekend? as far as i understand only the toe is adjustable is this right? thanks again for your post

before i ask any questions let me just give you a little history lesson. i crashed my car around xmas last year, what happen was i was driving in the rain and i went through a long corner (very fimiliar with this corner as i driven through it in different cars in different condidtions). i was going fairly quick but i wouldn't say anywhere close to fast enough to loose control when on exiting the corner the rear end just kicked out so i done an opposite lock and let go of the gas the rear still kept sliding so i braked. long story short i went through a farmers wire fence and done over $10k cosmetic damage to my car (thank god for insurance). the tyres i have are shocking in the rain (gt radials champiro) so i thought that was it. well i drove the car on sunday night and it was wet coz it stopped raining like an hour ago. i turned right at a roundabout when all of a sudden the rear end just kicked out when i was leaving the roundabout. now before you accuse me of doing anything stupid i was really tired and was driving very very slow. i saw a hyundai go throught the roundabout much faster then me. well anyways i hit a sharp kerb with my front wheels fairly hard and f*&ked up my wheel balance and alignment as far as i can tell but im going to take the car in on the weekend to get it inspected (there is a bit of a rubbing noise now so i hope i didnt f%&k up anything). my mods are (all done before i bought the car): lowered 1.5 inches on king springs urathine bushes in the front only 235 shyt gt radial tyres on stock rims everything else is stock now for the questions: 1 are rear wheel drive skylines suppose to be like this (i hope not coz if so im selling mine and buyng an evo)? 2 i know my tyres are crap but what happen on sunday puzzles me coz i bearly accelerated in 2nd so i dont think its the tyres is it? 3 do the urathing bushes act different in the dry and the wet? 4 what alignment settings should i give the guy who will align it on the weekend (give that i have a pretty such stock suspension setup)? 5 any ideas what i can do/ check? ps. im going to do a driving course in 2 weeks so i want this issue to be fixed by then... thanks for any helpful post

ah ok i see... maybe its diferent in each state coz a few years ago a mate of mine got pulled over and he didnt have his license on him so the cop said you have 15mins to get someone to get it or he will take him down to the station and book him for driving without a license and the car will be towed (bloody harsh cop if u ask me)... he called his mum or dad and one of them brought it (dont think it was 15mins though)... but yeah thanx for clearing that up...

ok u got me on the false ID part.but what is not self explanitory to me is how on earth did he present a false ID to the cop? did he actually have a false ID on him and the cop didnt check it? im asking coz each time i have been pulled over even in a rbt the cop always checks my license and rego on his system. so he would know on the spot if the license is suspended/false. also he would know the owner of the by checking the rego.

yeah i was just thinking the same thing... how can the court prove it that what u said on a forum is true... i mean if i said "last night i pulled up to the lights next to a (whatever car) and me and him done a 3 sec burnout before doing a run and i beat him and we got up to 170kmh"... the court cant do shyt unless there is some sort of evidence coz all u have to say is u were lying just to look good.., as far as i know there is on law about lying on an internet forum... so i just dont understand how can the cops use what he wrote on the forum as evidence... maybe he went streight home after he got the defect and changed cars but just to look tough he wrote a bunch of bs on a forum (well unless the cops got security carera tapes from the car park he parked in to prove he was there)... just my 2 cents worth... i still reckon it was a very dumb decision especialy with no license...

yeah i agree about edward lees... they r shonky, expensive and f%&king pushy... my mate was looking at an evo 6 there... it was a nice car i must say but overpriced... the sales guy kept saying how much $$$ was spent on the... he even said the suspension work alone was over $15k... when i heard that i started laughing as the car had coilovers (hks i think) urathine bushes and sway bars done so it was a good setup but not $15k... then he tried to pass the stock intercooler off as a aftermarker cooler... then my friend started to negotiate the price and they agreed on a price and my mate said he will check to make sure he can borrow some $$$ of his parents (they said they would help him out) and come back tomorrow but the sales guys got my friend into the office and tried to make him sign some papers... he was almost forcing my friend to sign it... that pissed me off bigtime.. so i got my friend outside and talked some sense into him... now he drives a R32 GTR and loves it... lol... all i have to say is that edward lees is the worst dealer i have ever been to... but yeah if you wanna buy a skyline go private and u will save a fair bit... i picked up my R34 for 25800 when the same sort of car in the same condition was 30k+ at dealers... if you want to buy from dealers wait till just before end of financial year... my mate saved about $3k on a supra + free rego + free waranty for 5 years coz he bought it just before end of financial year

sorry forgot to ask... does anyone know any good tunners for the PFC in Sydney? also how much do you think it will cost to tune one for the R34 GTT?

after reading all these posts i have made my mind up and bought a PFC for my R34 from ebay for $1400... i am now selling it for $3k... haahhahahaha... just kidding... cant wait to get it now!!!

yeah good point if its sh!t u can always og over it in black again... take some pics once ur done i wanna c how it turns out.. another question... since that part of the front bar is matt black has anyone used things like armourall to make it a bit glossy? is there better things then armourall to use?

hahhhahhaha this is funny coz im gonna have my car resprayed soon as well... also all paid by da insurance... my car is also black and the panel beaters are gonna be very flexible on the paint i choose... i was thinkin of gettin the blackest black there is but also was thinkin of a metalic or a pearl with a dark blue in the sun... anyone any photos???

yeah i got the aero kit as well and been thinkin of painting the "skyline as well".. not sure what colour but... maybe black haahaahahahahaha.. juz kiddin.. has anyone done this b4? an if u have has the paint come off after a while?

even with the RB25 the evo will munch u unless u have made a fair few mods and the evo is stock.. and as for cornering if u spend about $10k on suspension work u might mach a STOCK evo... its on of the best handeling produstion cars in the world... (and remember i love skylines and am always bias towards them )

The fact that u got pulled over in a skyline that sticks out is not surprising. But i just gotta ask do u show them some respect when u get pulled over or do u give them attitude or act hard? If u give them respect and act normal they shouldn't be harsh on u and speak down on u. If they do however ask them for their names and badge numbers straight away and tell them you dont want to talk to them until u get some sort of witness (but always keep your cool). Also i dont know about VIC but in NSW cops use car mounted cameras and mics to film everything when they pull u over. u can always use that footage as evidence of harassment but remember it works both ways. If u have defects they have the right to book u which is fair enough but no matter what they cant talk down on, insult u or be aggressive if u don’t pose a threat. I have been pulled over a few times but each time the cops were ok to me. But I make sure I show them respect and act normal (don’t act too nice and try to suck up as a lot of cops might see you as weak and take their anger from a shity day out on u).

if your TCS is turned off then the slip light wont come on... just to confirm: your TCS is off? (TCS OFF light is on) and the slip light comes on? if this is the case try an ecu reset...

- when u keep up with a M3 on the freeway and get thumbs up from the 40yr old driving it... - when u get the shitz coz the M3 goes over 200kmh and ur speed limiter kicks in at 190... lol...
