  1. Simple solution.. pass initial P2P camera, pull over with hazards on, have a smoke. Get back in car, nail it.
  2. +1 for changing to a proper oil. If you really must get your car serviced by a workshop but don't want to pay performance workshop costs, take it to Ultratune Kingsway.
  3. That's it. Oh and I had to swap the backing plate for the S13 housing but the front bolted straight up.
  4. R32 GTSt uses 5x1 flanges like R33 GTSt, S13 uses 3x2 flanges and GTR uses 6x1. S13 housing bolted in to my R32 but I have a funny feeling that R33 housings bolt up slightly differently (maybe bigger bolts at the front, seems to ring a bell).
  5. moron: singular morons: plural moron's: abbreviation for "moron is" morons': belongs to said moron
  6. Contradiction in terms? Why is it even in the "events" section?
  7. Plans changed and all the goodies are going in my wagon now so no comment. The use of custom cams came about when I queried re-using my 25DE cams or going to some 20DET cams (as they had a little more lift and a little less overlap), turbo builder said neither of them would be that great for the response/power goals. It was also because he was going to build me a custom Holset turbo instead of an off-the-shelf generic turbo.
  8. It was my turbo builder that was pushing the custom cam specs. When advised what the standard cam specs were and my power goals (I had asked for the most responsive 500rwhp possible through a T3 flange) he spec'd up some cams to suit the engine and turbo setup. IIRC it was a little more duration and a lot more lift but since I've moved offices I can't find the post-it note it was written on
  9. If you've got a problem, PM me. This is a forum of a car club that you are not a member of, personally I don't think it's appropriate to be pushing your club on here but hey, I'm not a moderator so whatever. Wut?
  10. Powerglides are relatively easy to build strong (and cheap compared to a manual to hold the same power), it's the mating to the transfer case that has me baffled
  11. Manual clutch engaging system? Replaced torque converter with a clutch?? The one here in WA uses a transbrake which IMO would be a better way to go because you can actually load the engine up and make significant boost for launch.
  12. NIStune all the way, stay away from CRed, so not happy with their Haltech install on my wagon and the butchering of my loom they did. Removing it in favour of NIStune (had a hiccup with a spare ECU that didn't work ) soon. Send me a PM, I can get NIStune boards and I have a mate that fits them for me and will probably work for alcohol Further to things said above, Haltech is not a piggyback BUT when fitting them to our auto cars (my engine/transmission setup is pretty much the same as yours but 4WD) they have to be wired in as a piggyback. The TCM isn't a seperate unit like the older autos, it is part of the ECU which means the stock ECU has to remain to control the gearbox. This is how mine was done and they did some other dodgy stuff like changed the water temp sensor to suit the Haltech which screwed up things controlled by the stock ECU that need certain temperatures to operate (VCT for example, would never engage because the stock ECU was seeing the water temp as 65deg instead of 85deg). Also, my NIStune tuners of choice in WA would be Hyperdrive and AllStar Garage.
  13. I've got one in my wagon and one in the 32, no dramas.
  14. Thursday night starting at 8pm?? yuck.
  15. Most people are very cagey about their custom cam specs. I had my turbo builder spec up some cams for my engine, if I can find the piece of paper I wrote the specs down on I'll pass them on. They were very specific to the engine capacity, turbo selection, use of the car and where I wanted the power though.
  16. Hang on a sec... AWD Powerglide behind a 26/30?? I assume in a GTS4/GTR??? I've seen an auto GTR done over here using the RE4R01b(?) box out of the series 2 C34's but an AWD Powerglide?? more info please
  17. If you have the choice, don't go underground.
  18. They don't make big power without a lot of work. The heads flow pretty well the same as RB20 heads so not much point.. slap a 25 head on it, then drop it in your skyline. SO much easier to go the twin cam route when it comes to management and ancillaries, keep what is suited to your car. I used an R32 RB25DE head which meant EVERYTHING that was on my RB20 swapped straight over to the RB25/30.
  19. A few people are using customs grinds from Camtech and Tighe
  20. Sorry for the resurrection but it hasn't been dead for that long.. Anyone know where I can source one of these smaller diameter release bearings/carriers? or have a part number? Cheers!
  21. My mate wouldn't give me back my disc But on the bright side, I finally had a bash of GT5 with my G25 setup (it lives at my mates place), awesome! fkn loved it! but unfortunately he made me leave the disc behind and the wheel set up
