Interesting Info About Engine Noise I Found
Stinky Rooster replied to nemz's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
^^ what he said - also, I don't have an amp but I still get the noise (albeit only from my dvd player, not my radio) -
Has anyone else got the greenish "UV CUT" tint on the windows of their car? My S1 has a little bit of an identity crisis and for some reason it doesn't have any of the "dark glass" colouring in any of the back windows. Instead it has this greenish tinted stuff on all of them except the windscreen. I am thinking of getting the whole car tinted but I wanted to find out if anyone else here has this greenish stuff on their windows and if they have had a tint film laid over it. If so, has there been any problems with blurring etc? Also, can I expect the existing tint to cause any warranty issues and does anyone know if the existing stuff can be removed?

Holy Snapping Duckshit Batman!!! You would have to be happy with a result like that. I don't suppose there would be any chance of a peek at the dyno sheet? Kinda interested in the torque curve from a result that good.

Nsw Stagea Roadworthy Tint
Stinky Rooster replied to loymclure's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mine doesn't have any dark glass Its all this greenish "UV Cut" kind of tint / film (?)glass all the way around. I am kind of surprised that this would be a problem though, what about all the vans etc getting around with NO side windows etc at all and all the taxi's etc getting about with the advertising film covering the back windows? Wouldn't this be covered by the same set of rules? -
If anyone has one kicking around in there shed gathering dust, I have cash!!! Must be in good cond, will freight from anywhere in Australia at my expense.

I am trying to find a std R34 GTT intercooler to drop into my S1 Stagea. I also would like to get my hands on a standard shroud as well, but this is not essential (it would just make it a little easier to fit) I am willing to pick up anywhere in the Perth metro area, and can arrange freight myself from outside Perth. Cheers

Rb25det Neo Conversion Into Fairmont

Don't be fooled into thinking the ford 6 can't be a strong engine. Just because it doesn't rev like a RB, doesn't mean it can't pull some serious numbers, even in NA form. These guys sell some really good gear to make it happen, and their top level kit (200+rwkw) is less than 6K if you can do the work yourself. http://www.jimmockmotorsport.com/articles/treat.php (having said that - I recently got rid of my EB after driving an RB powered car for the first time, so you are not an orphan ) On an unrelated topic, the carv reffered to IS a Mazda roadpacer and they were hill-hairy-arse! The 700 odd rolling bodies were given to Mazda as part payment for engineering help getting smog controls fitted to the old Holden "red" motor for emission reg changes bought into effect in Australia in 1976 and due to the fridge fitted to the boot, the air con compressor dwarfed the engine! Keen Mazdaphiles will recognises the RX4 tail lights in the bumper and a few other "interesting" additions Link - http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=5144 -
Money on the fridge, wog I hope these are the ones you are looking for. stagea_S1_pinouts.pdf

How about investing in a fluid flush at your next trans service? It may be that you have some crap floating around in the bottom of the transmission that is coming up to the valve body under high pressure (read high revs). If you do it, ask the tech to make sure there are a couple of magnets in the bottom of the trans oil pan. They are valuable for picking up ferrous peices of muck that get into the oil, and it never ceases to amaze me how many people have them removed because they don't think they should be there. -

So, anyone get any decent pics they would like to share with us out here in the boonies? Puhleeease? -
I was just wondering if any other WA people are going to go to Motorvation this year, as entrant or spectator? It should be an absolute hoot with the new 4wd dyno etc. I am going to be there with a few mates on Saturday, so if any other people are going to be around I thought it might be a good chance to put some faces to names etc. Linkage for those "on the fence" http://www.motorplex.com.au/motorvation

Whiteman Park - we should make the BBQ at Mussel Pool rather than the village - the car parks are a lot closer to the BBQ's and there are a lot more of them, unless someone can find out how we can get permission to park on the grass near the motor museum. There are barbies there and I know it can be done, because I did it with the Ford owners club a while back.

Yep - sounds like you managed to sort the wheat from the waffling just fine. Looking forward to seeing you there (and having a decent look at a 260RS in the flesh ) BTW, Kristie - thanks for the chrissy lights cruise idea. The kids loved it and want to make it an annual thing.

Spotted - ME!!!! I was just having a chat to a jap wrecker in Beckenham (trying to locate a smic from a R34 GTST) and got onto the subject of Stageas. He tells me he has a silver series 1 but he was driving past Spotlight in Cannington yesterday and he spotted a light green one in the carpark he pulled in to have a look, and couldn't stop telling me how much he fell in love with it, going on about how it had woodgrain interior highlights and what an awesome colour it was for about 5 minutes before I told him he was looking at MY CAR!!!! **PREENS SELF VIGOROUSLY**

You are a lot better off crossing the railway line and riding the other side. Much quieter and much less chance of the last words you ever hear being "sorry mate, I didn't see you....." Good to see you are getting the miles up, do you have a speedo/odo on your bike? If not, get one. It is amazing the difference you see when you have things like avg speed and time taken to pace yourself against. Plus, they give you a max speed reached to show off to your mates after you have ridden down Greenmount

Thanks for the advice Chris. The main thing I want to know, is what do I ask for and where do I get one. I am pretty capable when it comes to basic stuff like installing a stereo/amp/dvd player etc, and I am in the process of getting a Jaycar EBC kit together so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Only problem I can forsee, is that I know bugger all about my fitted alarm, other than its brand name because apart from the siren under the bonnet and the mic for glass breakage, I am buggered if I can figure out where the rest has been installed. I do know that the heater core was replaced a while back so there is a good chance the person responsible has taken the opportunity to hide it waaaay up the back of the dash near the firewall. I know its good for the security of the car, but it makes it a bit hard for me ATM. Also, I don't actually have the standard remote, unless you are referring to the original key with the "lock" and "unlock" buttons on it (that I have never really used)
