  1. Well, having never seen a SMIC from a series 2 I can't say fer sure, but the R34 one has a bit of a weird shaped upside down tee shaped shroud. I will take a pic of it tonight after work and post it up for you if that will help. I am in the process of fitting this to a S1 and while the R34 shroud is going to be easier to modify than the S1 std shroud, it doesn't fit behind a std S1 front bar and still needs to be chopped down to fit. It doesn't, however, need the same levels of mods as shown by the all knowing and all seeing SK in his VERY helpful tutorial covered in the DIY section.
  2. a bit off topic but.... If you are a mech fitter (like me!) and you have a basic understanding of engines, most companies will give you a go in diesel fitting. The industry is really struggling for any trades at the moment. I started off by reconning heads for old birdscarer GM's and worked my way up, and I did my apprenticeship at the power stations on turbines, boilers etc. (Muja and Kwinana) My old man is actually a fitter/machinist and he has been working as a diesel fitter for about 20 odd years.
  3. nup - key releases a spring catch that allows it to spring open (if it can, which in this case it won't)
  4. So, how much larger would you need to go? Skylines came with 17" std so would that be enough? (I hope so, can't afford 18's yet )
  5. fuggin' bad hair days. Why is it, that when things go pearshaped it has to happen it a long string of clusterf*cks? Work car poops itself on the way home, get a power cut so can't finish the carby rebuild, sleep in the next morning, have to drive the Stagea to work at a refinery *cringes* Pull up in the car park and get out just in time to watch a bird cr@p on my driverside door and windscreen..... TFIF.
  6. Yep - but its a fair bit different now. Thanks for that, doing it now.
  7. This white paper may answer some of your questions (I hope) http://www.buseco.monash.edu.au/gsb/mbr/as...one/privacy.pdf You will also want to read a copy of the Surveillances devices Act 1998 (WA) found here http://www.slp.wa.gov.au/statutes/swans.ns...nForm&Seq=1 Good luck with your research.
  8. I was on here for yonks before i got my first Japanese car. Its a bloody good way to learn about them before laying out your hard earned. We love having you hear dude, nothing gladens the soul more than having a brittish car owner to rib occasionally
  9. Thanks for that, but I did that first and they only keep back copies for 1 year after publishing
  10. Not the green one? I'll give you a tip - all their stags sit around for ages, but the ones they have had the longest are al moved down to the Cannington yard so if you want to lowball, that would be the way to do it. If you want a bloody good reason NOT to deal with them guys at all, just drop me a PM, but be prepared to have your toes curl.
  11. its a flash little bit of specially shaped tin that you put in the air inlet that is supposed to "create a vortex to present an ordered, denser airflow" I have never actually met anyone that has said they used it and were impressed.
  12. Bugger - makes mine look even more like an X-Trail.
  13. ^^ What he said - I put one on a mates turbo diesel 'cruiser a few years ago and it made exactly NO difference. We were really glad he won it in a 4WD gymkhana (which is a crapload of fun BTW) because if he had to pay for it he would have been annoyed at the complete and utter waste of money.
  14. Mate - love your work. especially the one of the heroes of the day - the sweepers! (that was me on the far right)
  15. Prefer WA due to postage costs but willing to consider anything. MUST be in good cond and MUST be standard.
  16. Proves my point even better than I could. I do believe that one of the largest club displays at Motorvation (Bogan Central) was the NISSAN SILVIA club..... Not to mention the awesome HJ kingswood with the RB26 install I took photos of. Imagine the troubles THAT poor guy is gonna get into trying to cruise. Does this mean that the awesome courier minitruck that turned up on Friday shouldn't be on the DVD? FFS, not everybody who turned up was expecting to get their car on the DVD. Some of us turned up to look at all the cars and meet likeminded people who have a passion about cars, not imports or falcodores or any other brand in particular, but cars.
  17. Having never been to anything like this before, I have to say that the thing I enjoyed most was the diversity of the cars there. Import owners shouldn't be so bl00dy insecure when a few falcodores show up. As has been stated, its not what the ignition crew were looking for so they won't end up on the DVD but maybe they are car fans who wanted to check out the scene. I had an absolute ball, met some really nice people, had a damn good perve at some awesome cars (but not that pink paseo, I mean WTF???) and drove straight out at 10pm without even a glance from the police. (standard Stagea RS4 might have had something to do with that though - enter the wagon!!!)
  18. Anyone got a good condition copy of High Performance Imports issue 37 that they don't want? I am really keen to get my hands on this so PM me with a price. I am in WA and i'm happy to pay postage costs. Cheers
  19. I am so there! Love being a post whore so I thought I would give being a drift whore a go And why would there be Trevs at a drift event anyway? Wouldn't they all be at home saving up for the $85000 its gonna cost to get into the V8 supercars this year? Seriously though, due to dedicating myself to having a family young, I have to live my motorsport fantasy's vicariously through others and volunteering at this sort of thing is definately the best way to do it. I have done the supertrucks, dutton and targa west rallies and now this - all for free, and sometimes you even get a free hat and/or shirt!
  20. As above, I am trying to get my hands on issue 37 of the above magazine if anyone has it. (Just found out my car is in it) Good to excellent condition preferred, and I can pay in cash / alcohol or whatever. I also have a heap of Street Machine magazines from ~1994 to present if anyone wants to do a swap. ( I am trying to purge my inner Trev )
  21. because I already have scans, I want an original.
  22. If I got a dollar for everyone thats has said "yes I have a copy, no I don't want to sell it" I would be able to give you $100 and have enough left over for a bottle of jacks and a feed of KFC.... I have even tried to buy a back issue from HPI but they don't have any left I have a crapload of street machine mags from 1994 to present if anyone wants to work out a deal for swapsies
