  1. Ah-ha! snap! Me too - the light and the clicking (only it's every 10 seconds for me). I thought it could be air in the attesa lines? How to bleed them though... Have any codes re-appeared Simon?
  2. Hey Jerome did you find out what the problem was/how they fixed it?
  3. Interesting thread... I have a S2 with a similar problem... only when engine running, and only at idle, about every 5-10 seconds, coming from somewhere behind the steering wheel/under the bonnet maybe I hear a dull 'clunk' like a mechanical switch sound. It's really weird. I thought maybe low fluid level in ATTESA reservoir? I have seen my 4WD light come on once. I pulled over & turned ignition off, then started it again and it went out & haven't seen it since...
  4. Do you mean the blue plastic rubber cover? Pretty sure that can be removed. If you mean the bulb itself; I'm not sure. You could almost definitely just cut the legs off it and solder the LED's legs underneath; I will take a look when I get home. How are your LED's terminated? Do they have 'legs' (for what I mean by legs see pic' above showing "grain-of-wheat globe" - they are the solid - but flexible - silver wires sticking down underneath).
  5. That sounds right... check your ground. I am in the middle of this mod' on a series 2 stagea myself so will let you know what ground I used if it works... Edit: Just did this mod' and it definitely works Can hear the turbo making noise at just over 2,000 rpm. I did exactly the same as in the pictures from here Note that the wires at the top of the plug in that picture which are taped are the wires going to the actual solenoid itself (where the two vacuum hoses connect also ) Earth the black wire on the end which is connected to the solenoid, not the plug like I did first time 'round
  6. well I don't know about solenoid operation with an aftermarket boost controller but in the first post it says:
  7. As topic says, I am without horns. I am guessing there are meant to be 2, as there are two threaded bolt holes in the centre of the radiator support, and two wires with plugs hanging there. Prefer horns for a series 2 unless anyone is certain that S1 is the same; could you please include the bolts used to hold them on this would be much appreciated Will pay $40 including postage... please let me know via PM or reply to this thread. Cheers, DaveB
  8. true... good luck!
  9. Anybody know any details about the actual key part of the whole assembly for series 2 standard key? Especially can I use a standard key, chop it, and attach it as per the right-hand-side of the picture below (thereby using a second-hand key assembly with my own actual 'key' part which I can get copied). Is there any use to this? Anybody tried it?
  10. How'd it go Liam, any luck with it?
  11. That's cool, more flexible
  12. That sounds like a "grain-of-wheat" globe, like this: Standard long-legged 12 volt incandescent.
  13. Xmetal did you have any other mods when you did this dyno run (intake/exhaust?) And I don't know much about tuning but is that jump to 14.5:1 just above 120k's there what they call R&R (rich & retard?)
  14. Thanks, so is the S2 turbo the same as the S1?
  15. Oh, broken studs... good luck hope you can get the old ones out Is an exhaust manifold gasket really $94 from Nissan??? Think I will look at aftermarket ones if I ever need one!
  16. I can't wait until these are ready... been on the list since october last year. Can't wait to be able to tell fuel economy! DIN mount would be cool too...
  17. Thanks Duncan That's good news. When I had mine apart I'm pretty sure it had less than a milimeter; will try to check again. I could feel no play side-side.
  18. lol! I wonder what is 'normal spooling noise'? Can anybody with a S2 that is 'normal' be bothered to record the turbo sound on boost? That might give those of us who suspect something is wrong a better idea... just a thought... objviously if you have an exhaust which covers it up that might be hard
  19. Thanks Ruby, give me a few weeks to drive around with it and see how it is. Just for reference, what can you hear from your turbo when it's boosting (above about 3,000 revs)?
  20. Well replaced gasket and I have to say, loud nasty 'zzzzzIIIInnng' is gone... doesn't sound like compressed air being blasted into a CPU fan anymore. Still has a noisy spool though; maybe turbo is worn? Will see how it goes I guess; not about to pull it off again and get it rebuilt only to find out it's just noisy, or an air leak somewhere else... hopefully not a hole in the intercooler?
  21. Duncan do you know same info for series 2?
  22. The momo's I have seen (for series 2 tiptronic) also have the shift up/down buttons...?
