  3. so this isnt registerable?
  4. Jeff from speed lab FTW!
  5. is that the same stud/bolt pattern as the RB20det and RB25det sumps?
  6. not sure. thats why im putting the question out there. URAS what sump are you using on the RB26 powered silvia drifter?
  7. wooooooaaaaaawawooowaaaa, that is 1 amazing machine! that sorta power on only 16psi is something to be proud of. congratulations!
  8. p.s threads like this that involve so many factors, really only lead to arguments
  9. lol
  10. atmospheric bov is the most common cause... but judging by all the things you have checked, i'm guessing your smart enough to know about this. double check all your vac lines. Also im not sure but could the auto trans computer have anything to do with this? hope you solve the issue before christmas mate...
  11. ooooooooh rb26 respect. extremely jelous
  12. Hey guys. Ive just finished doing a RB25det conversion on my R32 GTS4, and i have the old RB20det sitting in my shed. Now that my car is pretty much finished i plan on rebuilding the 20 myself as a side project and learning curve. Only thing is i dont want to run AWD on this engine (no torque + AWD sucks). Now i know there is a thread around here somewhere concluding the difference between the AWD and 2WD sump differences as ive seen it before. but searched before and couldnt find it? So my questions are; - although im pretty sure the bolt patterns are different between the 2 sumps (AWD & 2WD) can someone confirm this? - Are the RB26dett sump bolt patterns the same as the 20 and 25 patterns? if so ill just locate an aftermarket TRUST RWD sump that alot of 26's are using these days Cheers
  13. +2 with Adriano. Although i personally would get the engine built by a pro, and do the engine swap over myself. you will save atleast 1500 swapping the engine yourself and have peice of mind your engine was built by a pro.
  14. i had the exact same problem in my old R33. i removed the little boost controller and just ran the hose right through to the actuator. then went for a test drive and boost was smooth and stable. give it a go, might even just be a dodjy boost controller
  15. compression and leak down test asap. sorry to hear btw
  16. +1 this is my bet.
  17. RB20 performance updates lol
  18. is this doms GTR?
  19. hey mate, i just got one of the just jap ones. Casting is pretty cheap looking to tell you the truth. Also mine didnt come with a drain plug and we are having trouble matching the weird thread it has. I'm yet to run it and see how it goes.
  20. that drawing is too hard to understand
  21. understand completely. When i first started my project i was going all out, and learnt futher on in the project to only pay for what i need. I was going to go for the nismo 555cc injector option but decided when i dont wanna push anything over 250kw at wheels, the 480cc s15 injectors would be fine. By the way i have my car in turbo tune at the moment, they are going to flow test the injectors first then tune her up for me. Hoping they are all 480's
  22. cant help you with the stud, but i have a good stress relief teqnique for you. Try throwing a spanner as hard as you can against a brick wall, then drink too much jacks and coke. Thats what i did and the problem disappeared right up until the next morning.
  23. hahaha, hey man. i just dropped a RB25det into my R32 using this plenum. thats one of the things that i found fowled. Dont go to the trouble of filing your plenum or modding the mounts. Just take the CMC out rather than manouver the angle (undo the clutch line under the car). you will need to disconnect the pin from your clutch pedal. its a big pin with a safety clip. then put the plenum in after the CMC is removed. Once the plenum is installed and hard up against the head. Its a tight fit, but you should be able to reinstall the CMC. Mine only has like 1mm clearance so i am hoping when the engine finally starts it doesnt smash it off when some torque comes into play. But then i may do what you have done and just grind a few extra mm off the plenum and it will clear for sure. This is how i went about it, and i hope it helps your situation also. Cheers.
  24. just thought a little more in to that, and i missed the obvious. What i explained, IF you can change gears fast enough, it WILL cut back on the lag. im not thinking straight tonight. sorry mark. atleast i was able to explain the theory a little
