Any chassis damage is bad for the car. If the repairer is good, you shouldn't be able to tell it hasn't been in an accident. 9 times out of 10 though, it won't feel the same again.
Just see how it is when you get it back. Hopefully all works out nicely for you
Unigroup or CRD are probrably your better bets. If you don't have a large budget Unigroup are very cheap and I've had friends getting good results there. CRD are also good, but you will need deeper pockets.
It can't hurt to go to the RTA. You can try take the test- they either knock you back, or you end up getting the full licence. I'd pay one 3 point fine first on the P's, then go for the fulls - if they let you get the fulls pay the other 9 points worth of fines and you're left with 3 points on your full licence.
Slim chance but nothing to lose by trying it out.
You can try but I'd say she's going to have to cop the suspension.
That's what you get anyhow for speeding on double demerits, and speeding in the tunnels, they DO have clear signs saying there's cameras.. it's her own fault for being so reckless.
Dickies? Heaps of places, just walk into any Westfield's and you'll find at least 2-3 stores that sell Dickies. Skate and surf clothing shops, there's a billion of them. General Pants, PSC, Citybeach, Surfection, SDS, Urban Equipment, etc etc etc
Aussie ones don't have IRS, the suspension is pretty crap on them, the RB30 is OK I guess but pretty gutless in my opinion. Not an ideal candidate as a drift car. The Jap spec ones on the other hand have a bit more potential (specifically the coupes)
R32 is a whole different (and better) world worth every cent over a aussie R31.....
You won't find jack shit for $1k either btw.
Why don't you just get out to a skid pan day in the R33, your chances are very slim to none of bending the car if you don't act like a wanker. Very hard to do damage to your car unless you're trying hard to over do it. Helps you get a feel for the car and will let you learn how to control it.
Maybe better off getting a rolling shell, or getting hold of a N/A Automatic or something extremely cheaply and using that to transfer the good parts into. Then sell off whatever's left over to recover costs. Cars are never the same once you muck with the chassis rails, but even still, it sounds like it's going to be a large effort to repair the car.
Sucks to be your son
Seriously, I've seen the racist comment work before, my boss has done it twice hahaha
I'm lucky I haven't been summoned for Jury Duty yet *touch wood* but that's probrably a good thing, not a good idea to put somebodys fate in my hands hahaha
Can vouch for this car as I've known the owner for years, car's well looked after and only ever gets taken out for the odd cruise! Good buy for anyone seeking a straight R32, they're getting hard to find!
Finally got around to checking out the article today Brett.. nothing new there I didn't already know but congrats on getting your car in the magazine, GW giving good plugs to the guys who built it too. Nice work on the sneaky burnout, should have photoshopped the grass and gutter out of the background though, private property my ass hahaha
