  1. Most Garretts like that have a part number with and without actuators. Some ppl want to save as much as possible by using stock actuators. The 707160-9 is without The 780371-1 is with Other than that, it's the same turbo.
  2. U need an apples-to-apples comparison with the turbo as the only variable on exactly the same setup to make an accurate comparison. Too many other thing can cause lag (intercooler piping and size, cams, cam timing, compression ratio, exhaust, blow-by, tune)
  3. The -7 is just an older version of the -9 pretty much. U can get it without actuator: 707160-9 Or with actuator: 780371-1 It's technically a GT2859R http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2859R_707160_9.htm http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT28/GT2859R_780371_1.htm
  4. Garrett -9 turbos. Same as HKS GT-SS. Pretty much a newer version of N1 turbos with the same response and more power. U'll be able to make about 280rwkw with stock injectors and AFM.
  5. Yeah but 0.5mm isn't gonna do shit. I wouldn't call that larger. I'd call that the same. Just like with GTR twins, a -9 comp wheel is 59.4mm and a -7 is 60mm. they're the same size. U don't call something 0.5mm bigger in turbo talk bigger. It's the same. There are so many other variables that make the 0.5mm in diameter insignificant.
  6. That's not what I said. migmikespec is claiming the GTX is laggier than the same GT: I won't call u a douche for not seeing it tho
  7. I understand that I might look silly by arguing about silly things but.. The ONLY wild assumption around here is that the GTX3582R would be laggier than the GT3582R. It just doesn't make any sense, given the advantages of the wheel. That is a VERY wild assumption.
  8. Ah you must have Japanese RE-01R. Totally different to the Adrenalin RE001. The Adrenalin isn't as good but is a good tyre. The Falken FK452 is cheaper and better though. I can get u the Falken FK452 in 245/40R18 for $253 each if you're keen. Cheers, Brad tyres4less.com.au
  9. Also the extra blade area means the turbo flows more for the same shaft speed. More air, same shaft speed to to hit a particular level of boost on the same engine at the same revs, less shaft speed required. All that and U think it won't have the SAME response due to the extra 0.5mm outer diameter? LMFAO!
  10. WTF i'm an IT technicial lol. When did I ever clain to be a mechanical engineer? Yep i get it that weight near the inside means shit all but it still means a BIT. I know enough to know that 0.5mm outer diameter is FARK ALL when you consider the weight savings of thinner forged blades compared to big fat cast blades. Back to wheels as in wheels for the car. What do you think would be lighter, a 17x9" cast wheel or a 17.05x9" forged wheel??? The 0.05in will make FARK ALL difference. I can't believe ur for real!!!
  11. HAHA it's 0.5mm bigger at the bottom and 1.1mm bigger at the top which is NOTHING but the blades are thinner and the hub in the centre is WAY thinner like prob a good 5mm thinner. Why the hell would that not respond the same?
  12. Smaller turbo, more boost FTW!!! http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT30/GTX3071R_803712_1.htm << BUY BUY
  13. If I wan gonna get a BW, It'd be the newer EFR series 4 sure.
  14. ok my bad. the r33 was the one i wasn't 100% on. i think r34 is same as s15 but r33 not same as s14.
  15. There are about 30 K&N filters that fit 4" Take your pick http://www.knfilters.com/search/univcone.aspx It'd be a lot better to make a 4" intake pipe and sealed cold air feed tho.
  16. A walbro is perfect for an S13 or R32 because the bracket is vertical. S14/R33 and later go on a 45 degree angle riiiiight down in there, causing the sock to angle 45 degrees upward. I guess u could work something out to make the sock sit a bit flatter.
  17. who said anything about dead on empty? i'm talking about 1/4 of a tank. it's going backwards from the design of the stock fuel pump which has the sock horizontal right on the bottom.
  18. if you gave it a bit round a windy road and had a fuel pressure gauge, you'd see what i mean below 1/4.
  19. I'd only Get a Nismo/Tomei on an S14/S15/R33/R34. The Warlbro sock is on a 90 degree andgle but it needs to be 45. Same prob with a Bosch 040. Mounts on a 45 degree angle so won't pick up low fuel levels well at all. I HATE spending money I don't have to but I do strongly think it's necessary unless U wanna only use 3/4 of your fuel tank.
  20. They're HKS 264's. not massive. it's pretty much all in the fuel in this case.
  21. Both those things will reduce EGT by themselves. Both even better.
