  1. I don't mean to nit-pick, but the Forester is AWD not 4WD. There's a big difference, with the main one being that an AWD can't go "anywhere". It is limited. Whereas a 4WD can tackle almost anything.
  2. Fixed. Mods please delete above post.

  4. Eric Bana (as "Poida") & Mick Molloy for a start. Both have character, both are funny, and at least one can drive (sort of)
  5. I can't get to my plugs because I can't disconnect the the loom plug. I can't get it off and I don't want to break anything! There is a clip on the top, but do you push it down or lever it up? Either way I still can't disconnect the stupid thing!
  6. How do you disconnect the the loom plug? I can't get it off and I don't want to break anything! Also, do you have to remove the piping (for the cold air) that runs over the head to get to the spark plugs? The pictures do not show a top view shot of the engine bay with the "Nissan" cover off. Or do you simply slide it out underneath the piping?
  7. I have a Kakimoto Racing on mine and I wouldn't have anything else!
  8. This is very realistic for a tradie working over in the WA mines.
  9. Is it Nissan stamped? I sold mine for $450 last year in excellent condition.
  10. I think too many journos try to replicate Top Gear's top whinging Pom... Clarkson. Even when nothing is wrong with a car he will make up some BS just to get ratings. Otherwise....it would be a boring review and he wouldn't make as many $$$. This journo is simply doing more of the same. The GTR is widely publicised to be the direct competitor to the Porsche 911 turbo. A competent "everyday" supercar. Comfortable, reliable & fast. This is what the GTR set out to achieve and it did so. Both lack the "soul" that is referred to. But the standard GTR was never intended to have oodles of it in the first place. Soul, character & passion are what the GTR will leave for the V-Spec. A true track supercar for people who yearn for the 'edge.' I bet if the standard GTR came out with too much "soul" then they would be bagging it from that angle saying it's too "edgy". The GTR is a refined everyday supercar. It goes in, kicks arse and you don't break a sweat. For the people who can realistically afford it, this is new having a supercar that is refined, comfortable, reliable and fast. It's unheard of.
  11. In the Drive section of the past Saturday's Age they reviewed all of the new Falcon series. The new XR6 turbo drank 18.3L per 100kms with some "spirited" driving! So much for being more fuel efficient and singing the praises of the 6 speed box. I still like it but that fuel economy is ridiculous. Not many will buy these with rising fuel prices. I can't imagine Ford releasing a twin turbo when they change over the engines.
  12. I don't think the style of the seats in all the Skylines through the generations (bar GTRs) are anything to rave about. But it is pretty easy to change the seats if it bothers you. Much harder to change everything else though. I haven't heard the R33/Camry analogy before. I don't see it? I'd imagine there would be a lot of wannabe Skyline owners putting wings and kits on their Camrys if that was the case. Both are good cars, but the R32 is a little too Vanilla Ice for me.
  13. If it's for everyday driving, and you are concerned about dropping down in power/torque too far then get the R33. The torque spread is far superior and you don't have to work as hard to make the car go. It's very flexible across the whole rev range. The interior is much nicer & generally has less wear and tear due to them being newer. If you can get your hands on a nice R33 series II you won't be disappointed. Personally, I drove both and didn't like the lack of bottom end torque in the R32 and outdated interior. R32s can look nice, but so can most cars with the right bodykit. Stock for stock the R33 series II performs better, has nicer interior, looks better (imo), has more potential, is a better daily and is more solid. If you are largely debating whether to get one over the other based on fuel consumption, suprisingly the fuel efficiency difference is not the largest of margins. I'm not bagging out the R32s or RB20 for that matter. They are great cars. But just wanted to point out that every new generation has had extensive R&D performed by the manufacturer to be better than the last model/s. Just as the R34 is better than the R33. The more opinions, the more of an informed choice you can make. GL
  14. Fuchs is fuching good stuff! Pricey but worth it.

The 'N button' would be neutral.
  16. I drive a 1997 R33 GTSt and pay $1,200 a year full comp with $500 excess. I'm 27 with a Rating 1 for life.
  17. My R33 gets 400+kms in city traffic. On the highway is 600kms+ can be achieved. All depends on how heavy your right foot is.
  18. I really like it and would be happy to own one. Maybe in a manual though. I don't feel involved enough with an auto. Anyway, my only real criticism about the whole car is the steering wheel looks far from resembling anything that should be in a sports car.... it's f***ing hideous!!! Really bad design & thinking there considering you hold onto and look at it everytime you are in the car because it's right in front of you. Looks like something that belongs in a Winnebago, not an XR6 turbo.
  19. If I still have my car by then I'll be in for sure
  20. lol that last dude is from NS.com
  21. Reduce the noise by changing the oil to what it was before basically. Also now that we are approaching winter your car will get even noisier on start up. This is normal. You learn to live with it, but you can reduce the noise with the right oil imo. Don't get 0W-xx viscosity. You don't need it. Good for revving out easy but too thin and by rule of thumb will be the noisiest. If you go by the Nissan handbook, they recommend their patented 7.5W (for everything!), but that oil breaks down easy (semi synthetic). I found Motul 4100 degraded quickly too (also semi synthetic). Motul Chrono 300V was much nicer to the ears and engine. Expensive stuff though. It is a case of sticky lifters/tappets and some cars are more prone than others. In my experience it has been an oil thing and has a direct correlation with the outside temperature as you will notice. This is just from my experience and of various mechanics recommendation.
  22. He will most likely get over $5k for them. A Saudi bought a licence plate for $14.2 million just recently. There is big $$$ in number plates the world wide.
  23. The ticking sound can usually be rectified with a higher viscosity (thicker) oil. Many cars of all makes with higher kms usually make a ticking sound. Subaru's are especially renowned for this. How many kms on the car and did the ticking occur once you changed the oil? I doubt it would be your belts as the sound wouldn't go away once the engine is warmed up.
  24. Just import one yourself and get it cheaper than anything landed here in a car yard anyway.
  25. What's the big fascination with Nardi wheels? Do they make you perform 'super turns' over standard steering wheels or something? Seriously, is there any benefit from having a Nardi steering wheel installed? Apart from looking like they will never break out of the 70's they seem like a wank 'mod' if you could call it that.
