Hi Trav. Thanks for the compliment. Trust me when I say a lot of work went into this to get it perfect!
For longevities sake, before spraying anything make sure you prep it. Otherwise all that hard work spraying the panel is going to go down the drain when the paint starts flaking or peeling in 6 months time. Not good.
Before I did any painting or masking I thoroughly cleaned the garnish with Wax & Grease remover. I then got a low grit sandpaper and sanded the whole panel. This will enusre the paint will adhere. Next you will need to spray a plastic primer on. Once that's done you can then mask the letters. Because I did a 3D effect it was a lot more difficult to achieve! The masking part requires a lot of patience either way.
Then start on your undercoat. I used a grey because it is easier to neutralise than black when spraying over with white.
Peel off the tape from the letters, then do a few even light coats of white until you get the desired effect.
