  1. mm goodness. Just checked your webpage - Joomla aaay. Lemme know if you need some basic help. Haven't played with joomla to a great extent but if you're a noob then I might be able to help. If you're a developer level geek then I probably can't help Keep em updates comin!
  2. Hey guys, Not everyone cares or knows but I signed up to SAU ages ago when I was looking to buy a 32 4 door. I stayed because people were cool and ended up buying a cefiro. I've since sold the cefiro to pay debts and free up cash flow for moving places. So I downgraded (sorry r31 guys but it is a downgrade) to a r31 as a low budget drifting project. The plan is basically massage some power from it with some turbo'ing (rb30e+t), put in s13 suspension gear, weld diff and drift on. If I come into some cash a mechanical would be the prefered option. A coat of paint and some "home-styled" bodywork wouldn't go astray either. This is where it gets a little difficult - I live in the city and have no garage. So... I'm after 2 things. Either advice, or help. Advice: What would you do? Where would you build it? Obviously things like "mate's house" and things like can be considered as already added to the list of options General advice would be welcome Help: Basically I don't see anyone letting me leave my car and working on it at their house - that's fine. If you're a business however I'm prepared to let you sticker my car to shit (even paint job is up for grabs, depending how nice you are) if I can use some of your tools, garage and some knowledge. I'd get my own insurance and if we can work out some labour rate I can even pay you (although not heaps, otherwise if I had lots of money I'd just drop it off at grey imports and let Nathan do it all). Also if you're a home mechanic (and for some reason trustworthy sort on the forums) then maybe we can arrange something like I come round for a day, pay you and we work together on it? I dono.. So.. I guess I'm just asking for help. I'd probably need a combined total of a week or two in spanner time spread over many months to get my car up to track ready. First thing to do would simply be install s13 coilovers, front control arms, s13 brakes and some rear hats... It should take me under 1 day, assuming I don't screw anything up or run out of parts (i.e. a bolt here or a bolt there.) Then in a couple of months I'd hopefully have gotten my hands on a VLT ECU and some injectors... but that's another story...
  3. Haha the irony is I crossed the road just to check the car out closer. Why were you stressing was it my umbrella close to your car? If so sorry - I was very conscious of not touching the paint, it was immac - just wanted to get a closer look
  4. Anything larger than 245 on the back I find are dicey as. Also from my limited experience with 245/265 tyres they seemed to be worse when the fronts are smaller. If you're gonna keep getting tyres that big and you want good wet weather thing it might be a compromise you have to make, even if you find tyres with good water channels in them [edit: There's something about this thread that makes me want to say I DONT SELL RUBBA BUT ILL DO SOME DICKIN!!! ... ok. sorry it's out of my system now.]
  5. Stupid Adam It constantly suprises me that somewhere someone out there is taking photos with SAU'ers in mind... it makes my sphincter quiver in squishy goodness
  6. Yeah good points blacktop and funky. Simon - I guess if you're not super keen on selling it that's cool too. I'm just cut cos I had to slit my throat trying to sell my ceffy.. broke my heart But.. I guess everything is wrapped up in a nice little package then. I'm not being sarcastic. I really mean that mmm it sure does look phat.
  7. Spotted DHC turning from King to Castlereagh - I was the fly cat that walked right in front of the car
  8. What they're saying is if you can ask the person who sold it to you to take them out and actually pull the coilovers apart and put in a different set of springs into them.
  9. Phat car. Not trying to sound negative so please don't take this the wrong way but high teens for an uncomplied, unregistered rb20 powered ceffy is ambitious isn't it?
  10. I disagree here. Dealers usually don't know anything. Same as the "guys at super cheapbarn". Mid 90's it was always "the guys at harvey norman said x about my computer".
  11. lol
  12. Shan. You have to make the decision because you're going up against what is essentially something really really unique about Australia. If you wear a scarf, you're gay. If you ride a scooter you're gay. The morale of the story is - Australia and it's population is largely a noob at dealing with cultural issues. Having said that - I like the look of older school road bikes. CBR etcs. Something ghetto about them hehe
  13. Street car? Just get whatever. I had a noname stainless steel exhaust, HKS copy split dump, noname pipe to high flow cat, unknown pipe, angle ground and welded trust muffler (by me).. oh and before the muffler I asked a muffler shop to put in a resonator. A grumbly but respectable throaty car just a touch under 200rwkw. Point is it doesn't much matter, just get a good one of either, not a crap one of either.... Of course, I'd be making another "team I need $" muffler
  14. Cheetah in white I wouldn't do because I reckon white is for racing rims, and those are what I would call street rims Of course, you could just do what you like best too
  15. That's phat.. Surely it's gotta be one of the best presented drift cars in Aus. How stiff are your front springs to keep the tyres from being melted by the guard!?
  16. Hope you get it back alright, or had insurance. So you can't be a car thief.
  17. Tell us what it sounds like rubbing, squeeling, pressure out, vacuum in, mechanical, harsh, thrashy, wet, oily, gassy..... @?!?!?!
  18. "Your car" is probably already registered out there somewhere. I would have lodged that as part of the police report. I'd be talking to whoever your motor registry people are.
  19. Wouldn't the concern be the effect of corrosion on fuel lines etc, rather than particles? Or are you saying the particles would be stopped by the filter? Because my question would be how ethanol corrosion on rubber works anyway, because if it just liquifies it then you're not going to get any in the filter unless you've used it for a very very long time and caught sludge.
  20. Thanks Cubes. Just wanting to confirm that it'll work with a rb25de head (out of the r32)... Not sure what sensors are different from a r31 where the rb30 is But I would need to find an ECU for it.
  21. It should have calsonic stamped on it.. spose it might have been polished off but it looks slightly different. What's the plate in the second photo with different screws?
  22. Silly question but can you run the r32 rb20det ECU, chipped with a daughterboard if necessary to run a rb25de head (with still no turbo attached to it... trying to keep as much stock rb25de and rb30e parts as possible)?
