  1. If I have my coilovers I might be down for that, although seems a little pointless with a rb30e. 20/80% no/yes
  2. If you have a DE then sell it to me - I'll exchange my rb30e for it. Noisy lifters and leaky cover but otherwise seems ok and put out a healthy 101rwkw on the dyno my cefiro put out 180rwkw on s13 lower control arms, hubs, rotors, calipers, brake lines and a few bolts (m8 and/or m10, m12 high tensile) and you can do the front. For the rear if you don't care you can just "bolt in" the coilovers but you'll need to drill new holes in the tray for the coilovers to sit as they have a different bolt pattern. I'm trying to keep my car engineerable so I bought some hats that will allow the coilovers bolt into the stock holes. You'll also want to get coilovers that are high on a s13, or are adjustable because apperantly at the highest setting it's still low on the r31 so most of the r31 guys, from what I understand, run around on the highest setting. ^^^ I'm just regurgitating from the r31skylineclub and you can check em out there, altho their wiki section is a good start is missing often important but little things I've got all the parts and will probably be adding to the wiki or doing my own tut for SAU when I get around to putting the parts in.
  3. f**k I GOT OWNED. I thought I was cool getting a discount on $3.50 :\ I paid $20 for 8.. so $2.50 ahhh crap
  4. LOL ODESSA - Seriously Call the customer line as I said earlier and calmly and politely say you'd like to make a complaint. Find the link I posted and do it in writing! Submit your written statement and your passengers as SK said. It's actually a part of police obligation to identify themselves properly. You shouldn't have to have a phantom copper - this isn't Russia where you have FSB running around, although it will become it if the general public let it. So please - go lodge a complaint.
  5. Fair enough SK. Unfortunately it's very hard and impossible to find 2 piece made in Japan rims in 16x7 and 8 with an offset that fits a r31. They are +34 and fit a s13 but on the r31 they need spacing out. Hopefully I'll avoid the noisy bearing problem as it'll actually be closer to the stock offset with the spacer in. Richard - I wouldn't touch those things at all. Anything reducing the amount of thread holding your wheels on isn't good, it also is taking the wheel further away from the hub ring thing.. no thanks. Why is it you can't get a 10mm bolt-on spacer? I see them everywhere.
  6. Thanks JK your abuse of them will be testiment enough g13 - the pics on your site seem to lack a hub centricity about them Either way I can wait 4 or so weeks till they get em in.
  7. I didn't know it was made in China. Fair enough my point still stands though - if you NEED a $750-$2000 kit get one. If you don't car or just need something for 200rwkw then get the forum sponsor nonames. I'd still be going the Calsonic
  8. I bought a couple of r32 kits from gktech on ns.com - ended up being $380 delivered. If you're going for a low range intercooler I don't see the dilemma... $380 vs $750?? If you're going for a showcar/high power or have money to pay the premium you get then get the greddy. There's no way the China kits are as good looking quality wise but we're only talking finish if you're looking at an entry level cooler. If it was my own car I'd be looking to use a Calsonic made GTR cooler in good condition and get a el cheapo China piping kit, but that's just me.
  9. 1.5way for street duties and occasional track expedition. 2way more-so for drift. I had a 2 way and loved it, it didn't lock up too hard and I always rev match out of habit so never lock up unless you want to. If you lock up decel on the street you can't drive or are being reckless or lazy. On the circuit as SK said 1.5way will be quicker due to the way it pushes your car through corners. Depending on the setup of the diff (i.e. locking threshold) it might plow you through lower speed corners too so look out for that on the street/skidpan
  10. You can get them in singles and you just go to a workshop and ask em to press the bearing into the hub for you - mine they didn't charge me as it took em 2 minutes.
  11. Good question - in theory both. But really just the spacer. The studs I assume wouldn't have too much in them as it's the hub that's carrying the most weight/force.
  12. I recently bought some wheel that are +35 offset for my r31. Unfortunately it looks as if I'll have to run spacers to get them to sit out more. I had hub centric spacers on the front of my cefiro and not one issue, taken on the track, over a few ripple strips etc and no dramas at all. I need to find a new pair and found JustJap have them for $130/pr - cheapest new price I could find. http://www.justjap.com/parts_nhubs.htm Then I found roguepi (ns.com sponsor) has these that are apperantly "magnisium", I'm sure he means magnesium. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/25mm-HUB-CENTRIC-Wh...8QQcmdZViewItem Question is - I'm scared of massive stud failure going around a corner incase I slide sideways over a ripple strip and while it's just a r31, I fear for what might happen to me in such instance. Obviously something I'd like to avoid. So if I -have- to run spacers, does it really matter if I get the JustJap ones, or the 'magnisium' ones? (is it worth the extra money)? Personally I'm leaning to the "I don't think it matters too much" camp but I thought I'd check in. Please only reply if you know about metals, engineering, suspension or have used either or both products in HARD DRIVING (read: TRACK) situations. Thanks everyone.
  13. Please see pic. Need the stock bits to put onto my rb30 PM me. I stole the pic from the For Sale thread so if you like the engine bay you can buy the car
  14. With the comments you have on your trader rating I'll give it a miss - no offense intended but I can't scope the product so unless you're prepared to send without payment with me paying after it won't happen. Cheers, cc Anyone else? In Sydney?
  15. Please no today affairs. It's not a public opinion battle it's a legal one.
  16. I think this means: 205/45/16 205/55/16 205/50/16 215/55/16 215/60/16 or thereabouts. Roadworthy or above (doesn't have to be ALOT above roadworthy). PM me please
  17. gktech on ns.com does piping kits for $150-$200 I think, need some section of the stock turbo>SMIC piping. Cheap aluminium piping but does the job - just installed one on my mates r32 yesterday.
  18. Thanks guys appreciate it. I'll go with a combination of whats been written
  19. Since owning a car the majority of the things I've done, bought, modified or otherwise been involved in has been because I've "heard", or more correctly, read, it on places like SAU. If a few people post up saying that x has happened then I will mentally note that. Even though you have your bullshit filter on because it's not automatically true if it's on the internet. Having said that all I said was those purchasing these with the intention of using them on the track, AND who want to take your idea of using warranty as insurance should double check if they can. This is for those who might take what they've heard from you and act on it, without having checked it out authoritatively Meanwhile I'm going to wait for Satanic's experiences and see what he says...
  20. Yo man, Before doing anything else check where it would be receiving the most restriction and spray it with silicone lube. It comes in a can and is greasy-ish. My power windows were like that when I got them, sprayed the rubbers that sit at the top of the doors and they went like new. Only did it once in the car and didn't have to re-apply. Worth a shot - LUBE RUBBER!!
  21. NSW Police's Customer Assistance Unit on 1800 622 571 plus traffic lawyer. Btw - I wouldn't stress yet the fines might not come. http://www.police.nsw.gov.au/how_to../how_..._police_officer ^^ Assuming you know who it is. Usually when I'm not in a situation where I'm being treated unfairly, and don't have a high chance of being branded a terrorist, be bashed, robbed or locked up by over-enthusiastic police officers, I politely ask their name, station of duty etc. Sometimes it just pays to be assertive without being an asshole - because at the time you won't win against an idiot. Afterwards however you might have your own way.
  22. 318? bad things - you'll feel like your driving a well moulded, but expensive ford laser. good things - if you're a social climber you'll be able to say you have a bmw. Good luck either way
