  1. Search. This has been done before.
  2. WTF. Is it possible the agents in the new oil are taking away that the old agents didn't get or something? I'm scared of changing oils for this theory.. Other than that maybe it's just loser and shit is getting tired in your engine?
  3. I don't believe so many people here are happy that coppers are engaged in this activity. What I see the problem to be is where do you draw the line? If a copper's job once a week is to cruise in their modified GTR or RX4 or whatever every Friday and try to get people to race then they're just as bad as the people racing them. They're also just as bad as people who do that and aren't coppers. The reason for this is that it's so arbitrary and there's no way of actually regulating this. So in terms of, for example, posing as a whore to solicit johns and arrest them that's fine (well, stupid waste of time/resources imo but whatever) - simply because according to the law they have to actually BREAK the law, and if there's a john in a room with a whore we can reasonably expect he's there to have sex for money (which isn't being taxed/regulated and hence illegal). On the other hand if someone is driving home and a cop RX4 gee's them into a race, yes they're stupid, but given the absence of that RX4 they may have never raced. The john on the other hand would still be paying money for sex. So I think in this case that's gone over the line of what is proper behaviour in terms of law enforcement. I just believe the gains don't outweigh the time/money/resources and most importantly the culture promoted within the police force that it is OK to arrest people that way. It should really be an exception. As an example of things going too far one of the biggest heroin busts into Australia was, in my opinion, a total sham. It started by Australian police arresting someone who then worked for them as an informant. The informant, trying to save his own skin identified one of his junkie "mates" as needing money. The police then told the informant to try to get this person to smuggle drugs - so they organised through their own resources buying a huge amount of heroin from S.E. Asia. The informant was told to tell the junkie to go buy the drugs as he knew someone in S.E. Asia. The junkie told him he didn't have the money. The money was taken from Government funds by the police and given to the informant to give to the junkie. The junkie took this money, went to S.E. Asia, bought the drugs from an Australian agent (real drugs, since otherwise no crime would be being commited), brought them back into the country and was arrested. Baaam biggest heroin bust to date (it's been beaten now). So.. I'm sure many people could say well it was his choice to do that. Well that's fine and well to say but really what you have is the law enforcement apparatus of the state, targeting a specific person who is inclined to this behaviour and providing them with a means to a crime they would never ever have hoped in gaining without the assistance of the state. Sorry sounds like a waste of time and money to me. If I were commissioner I'd be concentrating on breaking the criminal organisations and putting in laws to publically execute sexual predators.
  4. D'oh. If you feel strongy about it why don't you appeal? You're the one being put out and you're not at fault. Can't you request another assessment by another assessor?
  5. lol.. step 1 - lose weight step 2 - learn to spell Seriously though - you know you have to keep it up because research has shown that you're neurologically likely to fall back into bad habits!
  6. Gday mate, Some points about colour temperature first incase you feel like splurging and buy something: 1- 120,000K is STUPIDLY BLUE (it's almost ultraviolet) 2- Natural light is 4300K 3- Mine are 6500K (I'd prefer them less blue but they're ok) The place that did your compliance would have taken out your ballasts and bulbs. They would have converted your assembly to take normal halogen bulbs. Ideally you want to get some stock ballasts from a r34 and change the insides of your headlight assembly to accept stock bulbs. Ideally you'd just buy some XID xenon lights. I believe both wrxhoon and abobob both are selling these. The advantages are you have the stock assembly, ballasts and bulbs. The HID kits that are sold like the one you pasted are for cars without xenons in the first place. They are generally a bad idea as normal halogen projectors aren't made with xenons in mind, so they can glare, leak and have crap cut off. This is both dangerous and impractical. There are exceptions, such as cefiro/r32/s13 projectors seem to work well. So your mate is half right - the headlight assembly in your car is suited to xenons. But in compliance they take out the bulbs, ballasts and convert the bulb holder into a halogen one. What I would do in your situation is call your compliancer/importer and ask for them back. They're you're property if you bought the car before it was imported. If not then you should buy some. If you get stuck and can't find any my suggestion would then be to install an aftermarket kit. The advantages of this would be you wouldn't have to convert the bulb holder back to a xenon type but you could buy a kit suited to the halogen type. I bought mine from BATMBL on these forums. He's a good guy and he sells Kaixen kits which I've used for a while. Try PM'ing him for a kit and remember the higher you stray from 4300K the bluer you're getting. I wouldn't go higher than 6500K if you don't want to get pulled over. Xenons are illegal if they're not self-righting so remember that too Good luck.
  7. That might mean some extra stretch on the 8.5's but it will beat steel belts on the back wheels. PM sent. Thanks wrxhoon!
  8. On a SR on the other hand... heh I'm going to be making my own dampener soon.
  9. I've always thought the following: The green or blue metalic shit they have on M3's. The poo pot clay colour they have on BMW 4wds. Mazda 3 blue Ford Falcon blue Honda Jazz baby blue (James has it look the cool) ... hmm thats about it.. the m3 blue is my favourite.
  10. Shit yeah. Good list and nice wheels. I reckon you have too much money too since those wheels are the hektik $$$. But still good to see they are multistud too Where's the write up for cefiroz?
  11. Spotted a few liners over the weekend. ab49 ... r34 again on the bridge. Some 34 outside UTS. A tough looking whale with LED afterburners with the numberplate NO. Followed it for a while near Roseville.
  12. I've re-regoed it myself so 15k goes back to 16k. I'm starting to come to the realisation people aren't buying imports, the ones that are aren't buying cefiros, the ones that are don't want trackable vehicles. I'm making arrangement to keep it. Offers at 16k still accepted however includes 1 year rego. Anyone got any r32/33 rear rotors?
  13. Damn cogs that's skilled. Even down to the shade!! I don't think the GTR had a vented bonnet though ... hehe
  14. The trick is finding the right revs in each gear where everything inside the box and engine is aligned in terms of revs. I can do it in the cef and the barina but obviously each car is going to have different revs so I can't tell you the ones for the skyline
  15. Lame globo-convergence-conglomo-corp-americana. Can't we just have JDM import scene like in NZ? Globalised free market at it's best.
  16. Hello Gronkey. Welcome to the club, sorry to hear about your ma. I've seen manual rb30de skylines of that era going for $1500-2500 which is what I'd pay for one if it was manual. Another place you may like to try to value it would be the r31skylineclub.com just hit their forums up.
  17. My flatmates uncle used to have a 156 bought brand new a few years ago. Apperantly it was always in the garage getting fixed under warranty. shrug
  18. They're the same calipers as Type M r32 so yes they should. I think the r33 rotors are slightly thicker but I don't see why there'd be any issue. If you're not doing a 5 stud conversion with hubs etc then I'm not sure how it would work.
  19. special 15k offer will expire in under 2 weeks (when i re rego it myself)
