  1. I won't be selling (i dont think) those leaf/tree things but how long do they last? I've found they're too fullon for a few days then they just die.. more so if you have your windows/sunroof open alot. Reckon I just got a dodgey one?
  2. Well with rego out the next step in engineering will be getting documents from meggala for proof of purchase which he is sending tommorow woot!! Armed with that I should be able to get through engineering next week and hopefully without any major hurdles there :
  3. Yeah it is mechanical and yeah it's very tight so tight corners it skips HEAPS... whole car lunges up almost.. It just wasn't noticable before the alignment as much because the car felt like it sat more on the front wheels (with 4 degrees neg camber it makes sense). Now when I go round the same corner it's not like the rear "slinks" after the front as much, it's more like the front falls into line where I want it to go and the rear half slinks and half bumps into place. Might be the combination of wheel alignment and pineapples My only thing is the garage said it's a 'sealed diff' and they can't change the oil : When I get it engineered and rego'ed I'll be able to "test" more.
  4. Hey guys, I've had enough of crappy woolworths/franklins air fresheners. I see them on 2/3 cars and they smell bad and over powering. I'm thinking to import my own (all from Japan) and start a business and need some feedback. Hopefully I can get enough of these things that will appeal and if I can get enough of them they will be less or the same price as the ones sold currently. I will be selling them through ebay and probably at events at driftnats and such. Obviously profit won't be great but really it's more about my statement on companies that offer shit quality products and get complecent about being a duopoly. The business side of it will hopefully work out based on volume. I've trialled a few of these various air fresheners and products with friends and such and they all think they're great. Any feedback would be appreciated. Specifically - 1- do you buy air freshener for your car - if not why not? 2- are you entirely happy with air fresheners commonly available and why? 3- would you be comfortable ordering this stuff from ebay or a website if the price was right? 4- would you pay $12 an air freshener to your door if it lasted the same or longer as a $12 currently available equivelent but looked cooler and smelt better. 5- would you be interested in ones specifically for smokers? 6- any other comments/questions.
  5. Got my wheels aligned yesterday and got a before and after sheet of the settings. Thought it'd be good for a laugh- Before Camber L -4.11 R -3.07 Caster L 6.34 R 6.50 Toe L 7 R 7 Rear Camber L -4.04 R -3.22 Rear Toe L 6.0 R 6.0 After Camber L -1.32 R -1.26 Caster L 7.33 R 6.52 Toe L -.05 R -.05 Rear Camber L -0.57 R -1.00 Rear Toe L 1.1 R 1.1 Question - after they've set it up why did they set up each side slightly different? Car feels very different now. Better overall at mid speeds but in slowish (2nd gear) tight corners the car kinda bumps through the corner, keeping the grip like crazy but bumping through it... I'm not sure if performance wise it's the quickest way through the corner but it feels tough I will have to "test" properly at a track - which I can only get to when the car is registered. Still. Feels alot nicer now.
  6. My flatmate has a rb20 r32 and I have a sr20 cefiro. His car struggles to get up the hilly street we live on in 2nd whereas mine tears up it (both off boost). I love the sound and urge of the rb20 as it gets revs but to me to get anything out of it you have to rev it, and so i find myself having to thrash it to do anything. My sr20 is a pleasure to drive under 2000-3000rpm pre-boost and it drives like a bloody fast 2litre pre-boost so i prefer that.
  7. Ah. So it is possible. Just harder. Still - why would manufacturers make it like this? I might have to crawl under and have a look myself. I get the feeling they may have missed it.
  8. 1985 renault fuego gtx. that car went hard and for some reason everyone thought it was a turbo (which we didn't get delivered here). put mags on it because it would cost the same as putting michelin tyres on it that were specifically made for the wheels of the fuego (go figure those crazy frenchies!)
  9. Gday, Garage says they can't change the oil in the diff as its a 'sealed diff'. So - how do you service it?
  10. Resin! Turning into the road I've lost my license on 3 times.
  11. I find K&N are louder than others I've tried/been in (similar setup cars).
  12. lets hope its a black cefiro that the cops called a skyline
  13. I ordered my 7650 from that guy ages ago. Got it no prob. 2 things tho - the fuse is different than any other fuse i've ever seen (i'm not sure if this is a thai fuse). The other thing is, as mentioned it pissed me off the antenna and remote aren't different wires - I'm not sure if this is the same on the aussie version but it's crap either way. I ended up putting in a battery cos I always listen to my cd and hardly ever listen to my radio so it'd be stupid for my car to keep putting the aerial up. Other than that pricewise yeah it's nice. Makes me wonder how much they make. Oh, and mine had some weird sticker on it - I'm not sure if pioneer thailand uses them as a QC/QA sticker or if its a recon.
  14. My cat rattled a coupla weeks ago. Took it to my garage and they investigated. Turned out it was a crappy diverter plate inside my dumppipe (xforce crap). They fixed it up nice for me.
  15. I think demo was making vids - I wanted to vid the rx7 howling away on it's run but my batteries died. The only other vid is of my car doing the dyno thing (it's pointed at the dyno screen) so nothing exciting
  16. Thanks for the reply Oki but that prob was fixed a while ago. You'll have to read the next few pages to update on what's up with my car now (if you care to)
  17. Thanks for the tip Oki - I might try to find that. Might have some probs cos it's sr20 ECU but in theory it should be the same(?). I don't have hicas so it shouldn't matter (I'm assuming they've taken the light out already). Cheers.
  18. There was a mysterious rotory there that did 280 i think? Setting off a building alarm 2 buildings away (twice) in the process Top cef was rb20 I think in the end pulled 220 or 230? I had 180 (no wonder I feel my car is too slow)
  19. Everyone at UAS said the shockproof will fix it. Mine still crunches in high revs post shockproof, what really helped however was them also bolting in my clutch slave in properly If your syncros are buggered I doubt oil will fix it, if you haven't changed oils for a while then you have a good chance any oil change will help it
  20. There was a guy on these forums that posted up a sweet looking 3" cat back for around $500 I think? Looked nice but I'd be putting a resonator on mine if you like to hear what your passengers are saying
  21. Great dyno day - Nice meeting everyone and seeing those I already knew. Glad to see the turn out and the number of tough ceffys out there  Most notable to me out of the cefs I haven't seen before were basketcase's ride (dori tough!), the white 2535 rb20 (street tough) and the autostyle one (clean as). Here are my photos- http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/1.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/2.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/3.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/4.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/5.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/6.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/7.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/8.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/9.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/10.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/11.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/12.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/13.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/14.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/15.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/16.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/17.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/18.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/19.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/20.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/21.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/22.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/23.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/24.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/25.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/26.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/27.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/28.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/29.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/30.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/31.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/32.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/33.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/34.jpg http://www.coolchaos.com/external/cefdyno/35.jpg (If you had/have firefox you could just hit ctrl and click on all of them - easy)
  22. Final bill was actually $635 - they must have seen me and felt sorry for me and charged me less I think that's quite reasonable. They did a great looking job which I'm very pleased with - only thing is I have an unidentified white powder on the catch can (too much partying from the engine bay?) and a helluva lotta spray dirt/mud inside the engine bay (between the engine and fan belt kinda area) which I don't remember having when I brought the car in. Probably just dirt from the car sitting around while they were water hosing their garage - I hope I'm disappointed with the "no specs" thing, whatever that is, it's not exactly a stock car but they said it's not in the computer? I told em use the specs for the silvia cos it should be the same they said no prob come back next week for $80 << that seems like a bloody good price if they're doing toe/camber/caster/the works which pedders wanted (i think) $120 for. So I think I'll go back next week with my settings. I'd really love to have all my settings written down so I can just say this is what I want for sure - anyone care to suggest some numbers for toe/camber/caster etc? Apperantly they said I should also get me one of these things as with the rear camber kit installed my rear wheels sits 'out' a little bit- The rear feels ... different with the pineapples and camber kit installed (mostly probably down to the pineapples). The new plugs seem to make it run nicer too - MUCH nicer. I like it so far but won't be able to see it in action till it's registered. While I was there a guy with a GTR was getting a twin zorst system installed and I noticed he had a nice kakimoto muffler... I told them I'd like to purchase from him to fit on my car - which should make a little less loud without making it crap on open throttle. fingers crossed on that one Next installment: Engineering certificate
  23. On the emergency factor that someone gets lost in Chatty and runs into the nearest net cafe my number is 0410 532 548 and I'm leavin now...
