  1. yeah 17X8 or 17X9 with +30 all round will be a good choice. as above it means you can easily rotate tyres and wheels as needed. same goes in 16s. 16X8 or 16X9 +30 is a good choice. a great wheel option for R32 GTST/GTS4 is to get some R33 GTR wheels. they are made by BBS, forged, strong, and are 17X9 +30. with a set of 235s all round you shoud be laughing. they look great too.
  2. 255 will be perfect on the 18X9 in rim. the first number is the 'section width' of the tyre in mm. they are not the overall width but close. so a 265 will generally be 10mm wider than a 255 of the same brand and type of tyre. in the same brand and type the difference between a 255 and a 265 will be pretty hard to notice on the street. honestly I'd go the 255 for a couple of reasons. it's a very popular size so probably a bit cheaper, the wider 265 will be more prone to aqua plane in the wet and the wider 265 will also tramline more than the 255. about the only advantage of the 265 is the look (if you prefer that).
  3. was the new cable second hand? if so it's worn which is why it's shaky and low speed. you can try lubing it up but the sure fix is buy a NEW cable.
  4. good choice mate. 17s look way better on R32s. all the tough R32s in japan run 17s. I once asked a mate why and he said (my rough translation) "it just looks right/proper/correct". the only reason I guess most go 18s in for brake clearance but the right 17s can still fit some pretty serious brakes. my F50s with 355mm rotors fit easily under 17inch Nismo LM GT4s with a lower profile caliper I reckon you could get bigger rotors under there. I do like the teddy bear wheels. tough call really between those and the CCW.
  5. well thankfully it's now priced at $40 at JB so whilst it may not be worth $90 it's probably fairly priced at $40 given it only just came out recently.
  6. ok, that's a good comeback. now we just need to translate it into spanish so massa can get the joke too. yeah maybe hamilton can find a seat at DTM with couthlard... in the midfield (on a good day)... well midfield is probably a bit generous actually but I think he did score 1 point this year...
  7. yeah fk oath. as soon as hamilton nurfed massa we get fking DC and trundle crapping on about poor visibility... boo freakity hoo. give him a fking pair of phone books to sit on. every other fker drives the same impossibly shaped cars and manages to figure out where the extremities are. they for the most part can race hard without locking brakes and using other cars to slow down... but it's no surprise DC and Trundle are quick to hunt out the old excuse book for a fellow british driver...
  8. i can't help but think the whole animosity between hamilton and massa, and particularly the way hamilton's mere presence reduces massa into such anger his english becomes barely understandable, is down to the way hamilton won his WDC at massa's expense all due to glock going on holiday on the last lap of the last race of the year. poor massa was already over the line having done what he needed to do and rightly thought he'd won it. I can honestly not imagine how painful that must have been for him, and having to even look at hamilton must surely set him off. I'm sure he can't help but think if louise had not been born little massa would have a WDC... no doubt any argument they ever have can be won by louise simply by asking.... "anyway massa, shut up for a minute, how many WDC do you have again? I have one. suck it monkey." I do feel sorry for little massa but he's not doing himself any favours in the tool stakes either.
  9. nothing wrong with mild steel as an exhaust material. in fact it has some benefits over the stainless that's generally used. the mild steel used is generally slightly thicker wall which will hold heat better and give a nicer sound. definitely consider buying a used jap exhaust though. can save a lot of dough that way.
  10. if it's running out of flow at 320kw it's a stock pump. genuine tomei/nismo/sard pump will easily flow 400kw. it's easy enough to test on a dyno with just a fuel pressure gauge.
  11. yeah there's no problem running the 98 RON E10. it's just the regular 91 RON E10 that fuels now sell as cheap 'regular' that you need to stay away from.
  12. yeah I reckon with $13K you should consider looking to import too. that gives you around 400-500,000FOB to play with so it's worth looking. but if you want something dead standard it may be hard to find one dead standard AND well looked after. most of the guys in japan who really loved and looked after their GTSTS by now will have modified them. many of the ones that are bone standard are actually not well looked after as they were just a daily/hack car for a guy who couldn't afford anything better (remember they are only worth about $3-$5K in japan and have been that cheap for years). so just be wary of the dead standard ones and try for something with some kind of service history/log books. it's a different story with GTRs are they are worth more than double a GTST and there are many preserved standard ones owned by collectors and enthusiasts. sadly it's not really the story with GTSTs. but there will be one out there for you, and with $13K you should have your pick of all the nicest ones in aus and some good ones in japan too.
  13. not bad considering nearly all of the 'times overtaken' for mark would be his typical 2 place start line fall back. and ok that takes out 2 'overtaking moves' since he invariably gets them back, but the fact that someone who qualifies as high as he does (typically 2nd - 4th) and still gets the overtakes done is now bad. obviously not a good measure of vettel since being in P1 the whole time means he only ever takes back markers to lap them. interesting that hamilton only appears on the fewest times overtaken list. I guess that's because no one wants to go up alongside him for fear of getting nurfed. he really is showing his inner hack this year. button makes him look downright stupid.
  14. hamilton has been throwing away points for years. remember 08/09 and how many bad calls he made. including one to stay out on shagged tyres so long that he binned it into the sand trap at the pit entry? his conduct tonight was typical hamilton bullsh1t. not even half a chance of a pass and he sticks it into massa compeltely fking both their races. nice work melon head.
  15. for sure, they are all built like little elves and could not fight a 10 year old girl but in hammo v massa my money is on massa. plus at least if he can't fight he'll no doubt have 20 brazillian mates to help him stomp hammo out... look out pretty boy, massa is coming for joo!
  16. I can attest to the condition of this engine. it's my old car and was standard it's whole life in japan. I bought it with log books etc in japan from a mature owner. it was standard right down to standard boost, standard exhaust etc. 100% no mods at all and always serviced properly and on time. certainly has plenty of life in it yet.
  17. I actually think this lap far better than the one in thongs, apart from the gay background music that is... senna NSX at suzuka take 2...
  18. my advice would be as follows. either spend very little, or spend a lot. the best option is buy a wrecker RB20 (less than $1K) and slap it in. I don't imagine anything is different other than the sump (which you have from your engine). otherwise, buy an RB26 and go the RB26 route. they are pretty cheap now. I have one I took out of my 1994 model R32 (so basically an R33 engine with large oil pump drive etc), it has perfect compression, 90,000kms and at 250kw would last forever if treated well. complete motor I'd probably part with for around $3500 or a bit less (that's complete from rocker covers to sump, you just need the bolt ons). for around $4K you'd have RB26 power.... 250kw is just 14psi, tune and exhaust for those things (even with stock turbos).
  19. honestly as long as you're careful, take your time, make note of stuff as you pull it off and store any nuts and bolts carefully (a, so you don't lose them and b, so they don't fall anywhere they can damage stuff) you'll be fine. it's a pretty simple job. nothing wrong with being cautious but I say give it a go. you can always ask for help if it's not going right.
  20. thanks for the feedback mate. I will probably get one now. going to grab one of their E content displays with the ethanol sensor too.
  21. yeah no one carries them. I have wholesale accounts with most makers in japan so just buy 20 or so every know and then. have some stuff coming next week and I'll order some of each size (there's 2 sizes). if anyone wants some just pm me, i'll do them at cost. from memory the trust ones are good (screw together) and a bit cheaper than the HKS ones. they both make 4mm and 6mm size. generally you need one of each (6mm for solenoid and 4mm for map sensor/display unit).
  22. he is a great drive but not sure I'm down with the no helemet and thongs! best bit of a vid is how he parts the gaggle of japanese reporters standing in front of it like moses parting the red sea!
  23. see the two little 'lugs'? you want calipers WITHOUT those. you want radial mount which looks like these below. look at the one on the right (which is upside down). see how it doesn't have those lugs? it has 2 holes in the caliper. then you can use a very simple and neat mount which attaches to the lugs on your hub and provides a easy surface to mount the caliper. with those you would use a mount that looks like this (which is in fact a bracket to mount some brembo radial mount calipers to a GTR hub):
  24. yep probably can. 235 is fine on the R33 rims in semi slicks (they are generally wider in any given size than road tyres in that same size). 245 or 255 will be fine too. but if using road tyres I would say the 235s are a little small and go for 245 or 255. not sure how you'll go on the front but all the options above will fit on the rear fine and to be honest I think fronts will be fine too with a sensible ride height.
