  1. word! brake and then turn = un saveable understeer! and handbrake and turn = massive slide and mostly a spin or huge loss of speed/time. yeah hopefully I will get used to it, but for the moment I'm crap at driving in GTA. Gazzila, can't try it atm but I will do later on. hope they get it sorted asap.
  2. dunno, but it was working every time I tried it? PS3 of course.
  3. Also, it's only 720p. what's up with that? please discuss...
  4. BTW, how farken handy is the GPS and the waypoint thing. so much better than previous radar's. I would be lost without it!
  5. there is a very decent oil/water cooler. PWR make one for 32 GTR. Mark and Russ have one in their GTR and by all accounts it works very well. according to Mark they don't see oil or water temp above 100C. and I have seen them string plenty of laps together in one session. Plus they have big power and would certainly be putting some serious heat into their oil and water.
  6. agreed. mounting it in front of of even behind the radiator is not a good plan. it wont get good clean airflow and it will just starve the radiator of air even more. for a 32 GTR the side ducts are the only way to go really. and considering there is bugger alll room on the drivers side most people go passenger side as it's easier.
  7. yeah it's pretty cool. you mean the one it has on the top right, for the external oil return? wanna swap dirtgarage? you don't need a nice highenergy one for drag. the trust one I have will be perfect for that! edit: fk it, since we are all gathered here today, I may as well whore a few pics of my sump. not as nice as merlins fancy one but still pretty decent.
  8. the best way I reckon for 32 GTR is as per jenkies one. mine is mounted that way too (it's a trust kit too) and I haven't had any problem with it in 4 years or so of use. one other piece of advice for jenkies is you need to open up the inner guard behind the core so the air can escape. either cut a section out and replace with mesh or swiss cheese it with some 30mm holes.
  9. I can add a bit more to this. my 32 GTR, 8.04a PFC. didn't have this problem for about 2 years. then one day it started. does it very, very rarely though. less than once a week. my other 32 GTR. just got it. built in japan (and I mean just built end of last year), got all the fruit on it inc a PFC 8.04a (bought brand new too) and it has the phantom miss/hesitation occaisionally. I'd say every 3rd time I drive it. I haven't done the re-earth the ignitor trick but I will do it soon.
  10. yeah they look the goods. wish I bought one instead of my silly trust one, but I was lazy
  11. they look pretty good. quite evenly trimmed, perhaps a little long and some cleaning wouldn't hurt either. other than that it's a fine toe.
  12. yeah the cars handle much more realistically now. they don't corner like they're on rails any more, there is body roll too, and you can break glass on cars now too and they have very realistic damage. burnouts are available and also fun. yes you can shoot people, blow them up whatever.
  13. my only criticism so far is that driving is too much towards simulation and too far from arcade style. it's really hard now to hand brake turn without loosing lots of speed, or spining into somthing. that was part of the fun of the old ones. just hop in a car and hoon off.
  14. I'm sorry sid, but you are kidding yourself a bit. yours look very glarey, pointed quite high, and have no clear cut-off at all. I would be pretty pissed if you were driving behind me at night time. also your comment about the left pointing further forward than the right is wrong. that is how it's supposed to be mate to avoid blinding on coming traffic with your right head light. for that reason the right side will always be aimed a little lower. I will get you some pics of the factory HIDs on my legacy and you will see just how different they are.
  15. yeah EC would be crap. the whole cool thing about the aus GP is that it happens right near the centre of the city. eastern creek is in the boon docks. over an hour out of sydney. now if they could find a suitable course in/near the city then I'm all for moving it north of the border.
  16. $74! nice one. that is a bargain.
  17. at operating temp. ie 80 degrees oil temp it should be on about 2 on the gauge when the engine is at idle (ie half way between 0 and 4). stock gauge is not very accurate though, so if oil pressure is a concern, buy an aftermarket gauge. when cold it will be more like 6 at idle.
  18. so, surely someone else on here has been playing it since last night?
  19. do you have an SR20? either way I am running a trust T518Z on my SR20 it's currently making 226rwkw on about 16/17psi (from memory). pulls very hard and comes on very nicely. great little turbo.
  20. aparently it is just the arse raping scene. still the good news for me is EB games will buy back my copy for $110 if I sell it in the next 2 weeks. then I can have had the fun of playing it on launch, and not lose any money and buy the uncensored version.
  21. 360 is a nice console, but an unreliable piece of crap. I can't think of anyone I know who owns one who has not had some issue. conversely I don't personally know any PS2 owner who has suffered a problem with their PS3. that should seal it.
  22. yeah it's a very, very nice game. on-line multiplayer is awesome too. definitely the best PS3 game so far. well worth the wait.
  23. Yeah baby! There was a pretty decent crowd down at the ol game store but luckily I had gotten a ticket earlier so I only had to wait 5mins to get it. Very nice presentation.
  24. *points at merlin. NEEEEERRRRRRRD!!!! not long to go boys. the bravia XBR is warmed up. bourbon is currently being mixed with coke. HDMI cable is inserted into said TV and PS3 is ready to rock. time to excercise my gaming finger.
  25. lol, I'm going to pick up my special edition tonight at midnight. it does seem a bit lame, but they are just down the road and i'm usually up at midnight anyway, plus they made such a big deal of ringing me up etc to 'invite' me to their little launch shindig so I figured what the hell, I'll be there with all the other nerds in denial.
