jacking from the tow points can be a problem too. they are not meant to support the cars weight in that axis. better to just use the regular jacking points on the sills.
-
yeah they are about $350 for a full set. I bought some from japan for my GTR. comes with the full 5 mats, but I only use the front 2.
-
lol. well the M7 is pretty damn good. M2 is good too (though sadly a bit annoying now they have dropped the speed limit for half of it). the Lane cove tunel is very good too. none of these roads would exist without the prospect of toll revenue to pay for their creation and maintenance.

they do make floor mats if that's what you mean?

there is an option called init data or initialise date. that is the option you want which will reset the PFC to the factory Apexi map.

Getting Drunk For No Reason Thursday 29th May City Rsl
Beer Baron replied to fatz's topic in Events Archive
mr bombastic mr romantic mr lover lover. go pete. I just realised something. why is this a farking month away you clown? let's ahve one next week. pay week baby. -
sorry to hear that moaner. your story unlike most has a semi happy ending since you are a smart chickie with a full alarm and full comprehensive insurance. you don't have to go far down the NSW section to find threads on cars stolen or damaged at star city or harbourside parking. the problem I found with lock nuts is you really need to carry the lock nut tool in your glovebox, so the lock nuts are only going to save your wheels if they don't bother to gain access to your car and look inside it. of course the carparks don't give a rats ass about peoples cars getting damaged or stolen in their carpark. they have their little disclaimer up to cover themeselves, and the only crims they are interested in is those dastardly devils who would try and leave without paying their exorbitant fees.

I can't believe people complain about toll so much. you want nice road? pay the bloody toll. it's not going to send you broke. we have it easy here. driving in japan it's not uncommon to spend $80 on tolls in a day. if you really don't like it catch a bloody train. sydney is a great city to live in. so is melbourne. friends, family, property and work keep me in sydney, but I would have no problem living in melbourne. although there does seem to be ever increasing numbers of freaks down there these days.

Ats Carbon Clutch Problems
Beer Baron replied to elrodeo666's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
bummer. maybe look at an ORC twin. if you get the sprung centre version you will find it's not too bad in traffic/snow etc. the sprung centre gives it just that little bit of 'give' when you release the clutch -
Best Looking R32,r33,r34 (gtr)
Beer Baron replied to Tamrb26's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
nah, I love the 32 shape. from all angles. I have owned a few different GTRs now but still love the 32 GTR. I guess that's why I have 2 of them now. I respect the 34 has lots of lots of advantages over the 32 (better wheels, better brakes, better interior, better seats, better chassis, better electronics, etc etc) but we are just talking about looks here, and I think that classic coke bottle shape of the 32 will be considered beautiful long after the 34 is considered dated and '90s'. I ask people all around japan which is their favourite GTR. and I'm talking people like hayashi-san (owner of Garage Saurus) he loves the 32, owner of HKS kansai? prefers the 32. tets, owner of prime garage? prefers the 32 (in fact he said the only GTR he was so moved buy that he bought one brand new was the R32). I would say 90% of the GTR tuners I spoke to in Japan love the 32. everything the 33 and 34 have they owe to the 32 which pioneered all of their gear and forged that reputation. -

Beer Baron replied to Tamrb26's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
32 is the best looking no doubt. and it will not 'date' as badly as the 33 and 34 will. I mean it's already 20 years old and still looks beautiful. -
a rattle noise when the clutch pedal is pushed in is normal mate. it's just the plates rattling in the housing. I have the same clutch in my silvia. it's a great clutch.
-
haha, yep that is a nice deal! and russ, you're a liar mate. we both know sarah is just as maybe even more pumped about the 35 than you are. you're a lucky devil mate. shame your kids now run around naked since you spent their clothing money on GTRs. i'm sure they will understand.... one day.....

Gt-r Big Capacity Sump And Front Diff
Beer Baron replied to Gav's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
nice looking sump, and quite a good design with the cylinder to trap oil around the pickup and the one way door to limit the flow of oil to the front of the sump under hard braking. bargain. just the cost of having an extension welded to your orignal sump runs to the hundreds, plus of course you have to cut up your sump to do it. If I hadn't just got my trust sump welded up I would be all over this. -
yeah it's pretty harsh isn't it. you go and spend 10s of thousands and years of work and agony to get your nice GTR or GTST running low 11s and then bamn, you head out on wednesday night to WSID and get absolutely smoked by an outwardly stock R35 running just a boost up ecu that pulls a 10.8 on it's regular 20inch road rubber. then whilst you are being defected on the way out for all the mods you have lovingly fitted the R35 driver rolls past without a care in the world. all I can suggest boys is START SAVING!!!
-
nah it's not registered yet. any plates you may or may not have seen are your mind playing tricks on you. They are just some show plates for looks at the track etc I think.

Ats Carbon Clutch Problems
Beer Baron replied to elrodeo666's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I say give up and go the nismo super coppermix twin. I know a few people with them and don't know of a single one who has been dissapointed with it. -
I do it for the love mate. I just enjoy helping good folk out. this one is for Russ and Mark. Sadly I'm too poor to have one in my garage

Import Question
Beer Baron replied to MrCima's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
haha, me too. well you know, at the time I didn't intend to bring in more cars, but things change... these days you either need to pay for a licence to imports cars that are pre-charged with R134a or have it de-gassed in japan and get the appropriate de-gass certificate. any R12 charged cars must be de-gassed either way I believe. licence or not. -
yes to all of your questions. but for the cost of buying R34 turbos and then having them highflowed etc you would have possibly been better off just buying R34 N1 turbos which have larger housings too. there is no problem in using your standard intercooler with the new hard pipe kit and it will be fine for 300rwkw. cam gears are a great idea and I would also consider a Power FC too.

Import Question
Beer Baron replied to MrCima's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
no idea but it's BS. you used to have to state that to get DEH exemption but they don't give them any more. basically had to say "i'm imporitng the car for my personal use and not planning to ever do it again....." under sevs you can import as many cars as you want. which makes perfect sense. just like you can go to a holden dealership and buy as many cars as you want. -
I don't agree with a lot of what you wrote but above is one good point that a lot of people forget. and that is that from half way through the last race of the season till the end it was between kimi and alonso as to who would be WDC. louise was out of the running for most of that race yet all the attention was still on him.
