  1. hehe, thanks mate. sometimes I need one. Had a busy weekend this one, but hopefully I'll get a quiet evening this week and get some more pics up.
  2. for starters I'm not convinced that the allowance for speedo inaccuracy is law set at 10% and even it if is my maths tells me that 15km over 50km/h is 30% over 10kms would be 20% over. so unless he was only 5kms over that is not going to hold weight.
  3. sorry but that is codswallop. they are not 'designed' for 100RON. I would love to know where these myths come from.
  4. top post there. makes no sense and even if it were correct adds nothing to the thread. I don't know why are you so keen on posting unhelpful negative posts all the time lately? beemer395, you should not have any problem with wheels that are 1 inch in diameter larger than standard. I am not sure why the mechanic is giving you grief over that. It is perfectly legal to have wheels upgraded that are just a 1 inch increase. It's an owner certifiable modification. The RTA inspection is randomly selected and they will tell you if you have to do it or not when you go into the RTA to get your rego. If you do get selected you wont be able to complete your rego on that day and will have to book the inspection at the RTA centre. from memory it costs about $30 and don't stress about the wheels etc for that inspection as it's primarily an identity check to ensure the car is not a rebirth, or stolen etc. I have presented my cars there previously with minor mods like exhaust, larger wheels, pod filter etc and had no problems ever. It takes about 30 mins. If you do get selected and the appointment is not for a while you can ask for an interim label so they will give you plates and a temporary 30 day rego label so you can legally drive around until the inspection.
  5. I don't know for sure what they will/have charged him with but just speeding does not give you a criminal record. and it's a hell of a lot better than charged like evade police, neg driving, dangerous driving and the myriad of other charges that can result from a car chase. also, most places that will check your criminal record will inquire about the nature of the offence and it does make a big difference what that record is for.
  6. nice one mate. I knew you would not be disappointed with the GTRS. HKS gear never fails to impress. That thing should rock with 260rwkw. It will be very quick on the track with that nice fat responsive curve. making nearly 200rwkw at 4000rpm is kick ass. and dave, mate 12:1 AFR is not lean at all?! dunno where that came from. that is a nice safe AFR. also, thank god for primordial for the rotating. chubbsy mate, it's just one little button click!
  7. we need more info mate. was it at a set of lights? did you have a stop sign? or a give way sign? did he have one? were you turning lef? or right? or was it a 4 way intersection where you were going straight? was he going straight or turning too?
  8. I should also say, very nice rant there troy. haha.
  9. yeah and the japanese GP with kubica being penalised webber should have won that f**ker from louise, but some crafty bullshit under the pace car saw rookie vettel up his ass. as for once in his life webber actually looked a threat to a maclaren driver. I can remember louise driving it into the sandtrap whilst coming into the pits too hot on worn out tyres. that would just about have to be the definition of "rookie mistake". I lol'd. GO WEBBER!
  10. add webber to that list. my hazy memory has him taking P2 in quali there in a f**king jag of all things! and didn't he get one of his few podiums at monaco (or was that another "should have been" weekend)?
  11. I will be very surprised if he does a single days jail over this one.
  12. sorry to both the andrews but the big baron is out. found a new apartment yesterday so I should really conserve funds for useless crap like a roof over my head. have fun without me
  13. I will say to all the clowns who said they would run you really are thinking with your arse. for one thing if you want to willfully break the law and are willing to escalte your crimes in order to escapte a speeding fine, then keep it to yourself. posting about your hardcore wannabe mentality on the forum is just plain stupid. you might as well youtube yourself comitting some nice petty crime and see how far that gets you. also, before you run think about what you have to lose. on the one hand you pull over, get your pants pulled down a good spanking by the judge, most likely accompanied by a licence suspension, a thousand or two in fines and maybe even a bond. on the other hand you run. the police radio ahead and ask for more cars in the area to assist in the chase. they are able to intercept you further up the road, and may even run you off the road (thus badly damaging your car, which likely no insurance will cover as you were engaged in a criminal act). now you have police that are fired up and likely to give you a little kicking whislt yelling 'stop resisting' just in case someone is watching. now you get charged. you will get a criminal conviction which may prevent you getting certain jobs or even travelling to certain countries. hell you may even lose the job you have now. and at worst you may even earn yourself a nice trip to long bay for a few months. or even worse your fully sick skillz may desert you as you attemp a corner 50km/h too fast and you crash and die. all over a speeding fine. when you rationally look at the risk and benefit of running vs not running you would have to be a moron to even consider running away over a speeding ticket. I mean it's suck a petty thing. it's not like you are driving away from a bank robbery, nothing really bad will happen when you pull over.
  14. it's certainly possible. no way is it possible in 4th gear though.
  15. yep, they don't care about him either. in fact they hate him! they would be quite pleased i'm sure if he gets mugged in the carpark as the lowlife that robs him will likely feed half of that money back into the pokies for them.
  16. this it not funny. how about in future if you see a thread posted in the wrong section instead of whoring it up as usual, hit report post and a moderator can move it to the relevant section? that would be much more constructive. and for mark, if your GTST is completely standard I would say you can get away with 95 if you wish, but once you have a few mods like more boost, exhaust, tune etc then use of 98 is pretty much mandatory. and to be honest even in a standard skyline I would personally only use 98.
  17. well as far as I can tell the whole 'donators can edit' feature was a mistake, and it has not been advertised as a benefit of donating. the main benefit of donating is it keeps our lovely foum alive. it also has other lesser benefits like more pm space and a warm feeling inside. as I understand it the intention of the no edit feature was that it covers everybody. I think a little glitch allowed donators to get around it for a while. I know it's a bit inconvenient but there are other forums I can thnk of off the top of my head that have this 2 hour edit window on them and it hasn't hurt my enjoyment of those forums at all. if you have a post you want edited, either to update info, or fix spelling mistakes or whatever reason, simply hit the report post button on your post state what you want changed and the relevant section mod will fix it up.
  18. HKS products (and trust etc for that matter) and tweaked, developed and TESTED on their intended specific application. so they test your RB25 GTRS kit on an RB25. the garret equivelant would never have been tested by garret on your particular model (no way could they test their wide catalouge of turbos on so many different car/engine combos). companies like HKS only sell turbos to suit specific applications and only for a small selection of cars really, so you get a product that is tested to get the best result out of your model of car. buying the generic garret gear and you are the one doing the testing. though at least now many people have tried many generic garrett parts on skylines so there is some experience out ther to draw from. but in my experience the 'brand name' japanese turbos do outperform the generic options in a few areas like fitment, spool-up, outright power and in the parts you get with the turbo that make life easy.
  19. the viscous LSD is pretty average. i'd go as far to say it's rubbish. the active LSD is not much better and really a bit of a wank tbh. your best bet is repalce your viscous diff with a nice, proper mechanical LSD. 32 GTR LSD is pretty cheap second hand, and you can easily replace the clutch packs to make it good as new. or just buy a cusco, kaaz, whatever centre for your current LSD. then enjoy nice, predictable diff behaviour and no more single spinner.
  20. they don't need any collars. nismoid has an obsession with collars. he likes them popped. if they don't come with new o-rings though I would consider buying some rather than re-use the old ones. you can buy them from nissan, or any fuel injection place. but, once you have changed the injectors the car is not really driveable. it will be overfuelling by about 80% over what it should be. so personally I would just get them installed when you are getting the car tuned. also, unless your current injectors are running out of flow then don't change them just for the sake of it. and yes you should be able to get a few bucks for the old pump and old injectors.
  21. f**k you andrew! I am sorely tempted now.... let me get back to you tomorrow. in reality it's the last thing I need, but it's so f*kcing cool!
  22. drifting is not so worried about the securing of body kits, though the battery would definitely have seen him sitting that one out. all in all I say he was some clown who went to see some people with actual balls have a go at drifting or racing. being too much of a pussy to participate himself he thought he would make himself feel more manly buy thrashing the nuts out of his shitbox on the way home.
  23. I bet you dollars to doughnuts if he really did spend the day at the track it was as a spectator not actually getting out there having a go. anyone I know after a full day of circuit racing, or drifting is absolutely knackered after a days racing and you would most definitely be driving sedately home again.
  24. tolls cheaper in melbourne? when I've been driving there the toll pass took a f**king hammering so I don't know what toll roads you were using. you do realise most (all?) of their toll roads are cashless and boom gate-less right.... they have overhead gantries everywhere stinging you for toll. and don't get me started on speeding enforcement. anytime I drive in victoria I feel lucky to escape with my licence intact.
  25. none of those are toll roads.... if you read my post like I said, you want nice road, be prepared to pay for it. people want nice road, but when they build a toll road nobody says "great, we have a nice road". people all say "this is f**ked I have to pay toll". don't get me wrong, it doesn't excuse the poor state of some of our important roads, and i'm not suggesting they should become toll roads either, they should be fixed and maintained properly. but my point was whinging about tolls is lame, the roads that have tolls would not exist without them. simple.
