  1. DC is a hack brisby. if it weren't for his massive jaw allowing him some racey-ness he would be scoring points finishes at a tractor pull somewhere. haha, but yeah I like him too.
  2. snap-on, well bluepoint have a very nice super low jack. about $350 or so from memory.
  3. all true. I will be there.
  4. exactly there is f**k all difference between v-power. S8000, vortex98 and ultimate. you will get just as wide a variance just filling up at the same station after different deliverys. all of the common 98RON fuels availabl in sydney are pretty much on par and as Dave pointed out nearly all of it comes from the one refinery. the V-power racing 100RON contains 5% ethanol so it may give you a slightly leaner mixture. I have also been told that it is a more highly oxegenated fuel than the others which will lean your AFR even further but we are not talking huge changes here so unless your car is tuned right on the edge then there will be no problem. and if you car is tuned a little too 'fat' then you will most likely pick up a small amount of power from the slightly leaner AFR.
  5. sorry ultraman but if you want to advertise your business on the forum then you need to pay for it just like all our other traders do.
  6. one further thing I will add. any business signing on to be a trader on SAU is asked to provide comprehensive information to the SAU admins including physical business locations, ABN, contact details etc etc and all of that info is kept on file. We also keep records of any complaints we get about any trader and keep that on their file too. If we receive any volume of complaints about a trader, or even just 1 serious complaint then we would review their position on the forum just as we would any other user. Paid trader or not makes no difference to how view serious complaints.
  7. thank you. we appreciate the donation and you should get some other benefits from it too like increased pm space and a warm feeling inside! any donations or trader subscriptions go directly towards ensuring the forum stays up and running. and I agree there is nothing worse than being screwed around by a business our individual. and usually when these matters are reported to any of the admin team we will step in the middle of it all and try and find a satisfactory outcome for the business and the customer. and you are right it is always in a businesses best interest to rectify any perceived or real injustice before the customer develops any ill will and starts to spread that feeling around. any user who feels they have been ripped off or treated badly by any trader, or any other SAU user has the option of reporting it to an SAU admin and we will always try and offer some help. I should mention in this case as far as I know yogibear did not contact any of the SAU admin team to either report his problem, or ask for help.
  8. guys don't buy the AF gauge. waste of money. does absolutely bugger all. buy a oil pressure guage. even though there is a factory one they are very slow to react and quite often faulty too. or at least get water temp or EGT. those cheap AF gauges that run off your factory 02 sensor tell you absolutely bugger all.
  9. lol, yes I've been pillaged before! all for the common good though.
  10. all the lovely body bits are now officially floating their way to aus. so there some progress from my end!
  11. keep the nismo pipes, they are very nice. the only ones I've seen that I liked more are the current model HKS ones which are welded on the inside. and have larger 70mm primaries instead of the 60 or 65 the nismo ones are. there is really only one choice for GTR dumps at the moment I reckon. TOMEI. very nice. big open design. proper 70mm outlet (not 60odd like HKS ones), big open bell mouth so little to no chance of your wastegate flap hitting anything either. here are some pics of a set I bought a few years ago when they first started doing this type. in fact I may even have a set lying around I can part with if you need some in a hurry.
  12. go to settings, then scroll to the last option which is rev. then hit the right arrow so the revs are highlighted then hit down arrow till it's down to what you want. then just hit back and go back to monitor mode or whatever you normally leave it in.
  13. yep warranty is not all it's cracked up to be. the real ticket is to just try and buy a car that is well made and wont break within 3 years of ownership (after which you are on your own regardless of whether or not you had a warranty in the first place).
  14. hey johnny mate. how about pulling your finger out and use it to donate some money to the forum? if the forum had enough money to sustain itself based on user donations then we wouldn't need any other paid advertising and you wouldn't have this problem. and as duncan pointed out everyone who works on the forum (myself included) does so for FREE. I have never received any payment, or favours, or goods in kind for any work I have done on the forum over the years either from traders, or users or the forum owner. I do it purely to give something back to a forum which was a huge help to me when I first started out with skylines. as for the website making money that is another joke surely? the website uses donations and trader payments just to keep it going. there is no pot of gold under the SAU rainbow.
  15. yeah, that is where the marbles deploy from.
  16. hanyou, if you haven't already settled on a place for compliance try envy imports. they are in sydney, northern beaches and should be able to do a better price than the 2750 you have been quoted.
  17. ummm as a private citizen you can already import more than one car per year through sevs? I don't know if there is a limit at all. of course state laws dictate how many cars you can SELL per year but that is entirely seperate.
  18. very impressive especially considering that it's running street tyres. imagine what gains there would be with some semi slicks or even better some proper drag radials.
  19. why not just comply it but never register it? it's not like compliance costs a huge amount of money. plus then when you want to sell it you will have a car that is actually saleable and worth something as opposed to an unregisterable car. there is no law that says you must register it once it's complied. and then down the track whoever wants to register it just needs a blue slip and away they go.
  20. lol, I did predict this happening months ago when you showed pics of your worlds highest high mount. I would look at possibly a more suitable turbo/manifold combo which will not only clear the bonnet but make the car nicer to drive, but I know you have your heart set on the mack truck version. in which case I say just go the spacers and be done with it. it's the easiest cheapest way out of this problem.
  21. haha, that is funny. I know Grahame King quite well. he is a lovely guy and I have spent time with him at various trips to japan over the years. Glad he could help you out. he is one of a few exporters that I know and trust. sounds like you got a nice car, and the cost does not seem unreasonable to me. just like anywhere if you want the best of the best you have to be prepared to pay for it. sure there are lots of 1million yen 32 GTRs but the really special cars are all 1.5+ and some into the 2+ range.
  22. bummer on selling your little weapon harry. you are right under $20K to get those sort of times is one hell of a bargain. especially in a car that could be road registered as well. the best part is with relatively smally brakes and wheels and a fairly light car the tyre and brake bills wont send you broke! so it would be a cheap car to race as well as cheap to buy. i'm sure you wont have a problem finding a new home for it. if I had space and money it would be on my shortlist no doubt about it.
  23. Russ mate, you are going to have to compete with her for the keys. I mean, she paid the invoice after all. hell I think sarah is more excited than you! You will be the foremost GTR collector in aus I reckon. 2 X 32s (need 2 as they are the best of the bunch) 1 X 33 1 X 34 1 X 35 now all you need is a KPGC110 GTR and you will be in business mate. open a GTR musuem. and let me come play in it please! haha. at least i'm keeping my end up with 2 X 32s but we're not quite in the same field.... yet!
  24. happy birthday you butt pirate.
  25. I hope not! all going well i'll give one a little punt next month and I sure wouldn't want to be walking back to the pits after binning that! because of medieval times the ill smelling umbrella it sends.
