  1. Legend.. I can't comment on the R33 NA GTS4 diff's but the R32 GTS4 diff's are 100% mechanical. Well the one that I saw was and others have also stated they are mechanical. The J30 diff runs the same pumpkin and 6bolt half shafts as a GTR/GTS4 BUT is viscous and runs a higher diff ratio. Before I bought my current mechanical I bought what was supposed to be a GTR pumpkin and axles which turned out to be a viscous unit. The dodgy jap importer *no names mentioned* sold the bits as a GTR rear end but swapped out the diff center for a cheap J30 viscous unit. What ratio is yours? Its stamped on the crown wheel.
  2. At least he doesn't have to worry about buying a soap on the rope.
  3. lol Yer I'm a tight arse.. I'd rather spend $$ I save on the car! Between spending $$ on the car and the computer the missus kicks my arse. So where I can save I do.
  4. Elaborate Paully........ ELABORATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. lol I wouldn't go unless he showed me the badge.
  6. Paul.. The Rb26 pfc has airtemp correction enabled by default.
  7. Paul... MSY has been around since I can remember. Just not here in SA.
  8. That too could be a simple fix. The air temp sensor uses the same sensor as the water temp. Simply splice the water temp to the air temp and disable any correction via the datalogit.
  9. Pauls no longer doing it. I 'may' do a few 26pfcs for r32 rb20's but it will be for local sa only. BUT Even a 26 pfc is proving to be a pain in the arse to get so I may simply do mine and thats it.
  10. Different port speeds, uncapped etc attract a different price. Its definitely not a 29.95 per year.. Its done monthly. Prices from Nov last year. Telstra ADSL port cost. 256/64 - 22.00 512/128 - 27.00 512/512 - 50.25 1536/256 - 34.00 8192/384 - 52.00 All prices are excluding GST.. You than have to include on top the cost of AGVC/VLAN to Telstra. So it adds up pretty damn quick. But still doesn't look as bad as it used to be back in 2003/2004.
  11. I'm still getting my head around the massive price hikes. Unbelievable. --- Madaz.. The port costs are considerably more than 2.99. I forget exactly but I do remember thinking wow... there's not a lot of room for profit in there. There was a huge kick up a while back when telstra introduced a low end plan that was cheaper than what the port cost etc was for an internet reseller. Telstra are scum.
  12. I believe that one went for $2150!!! :S There was one on recently that I believe didn't sell for $1000 and another thats still on there now for around $1680ish.
  13. lol a few people commented how they didn't look nice. First time I saw them I thought.......... hrmm no. They look tacky. First my other half.. then the old man and then mum. Every one that saw them said exactly the same thing.. Only the bloke who owns them thought they looked good.
  14. They were 245/40/18" Nankang NS2's. The rims were a touch more heavy than the stock rim but didn't appear all that heavy for such a big rim. The scary thing was the federals I have on the stock rims are a cheapo directional 535. The 245 NS2 had more issues in second than my cheapo federals and wet weather for the ns2's was extremely poor. First gear with both of the tyres even with the new tight diff is useless. Im starting to think the arse end being jacked up 10-12mm due to the noltec subframe bushes is causing issues with weight transfer to the rear. Attached a pic of the rims.. ugly things hey..
  15. Japlish. I'll give them a buzz tomorrow. I've had them replace a stick of ram that was doa and had no issues.
  16. I ran around with a mates 245/40/18's while he got off defect. They actually gripped less and understeered more than my federal 225/50/16's. :S Straight line grip was also less. Nankangs NS2's are crap. Yet some say they are good?!? :S
  17. Fishpaste... A couple of interesting worry's on the Wd site. The warranty situation is a bit of a worry. How many computer shops are an 'authorised' reseller of wd, seagate and other hardware? How do we find out if they are? As the above states if the reseller isn't authorised the warranty is up to the reseller; if they go bust. No warranty. I experienced something similiar when I was younger. I bought a video card; a couple of months later it stopped working, I went back to the computer shop and they had closed up. I contacted the manufacturer and they told me to contact the reseller or their distributor. Which is impossible so my loss.
  18. I was unable to remove the rod ends from the hubs as I didn't have a tool suitable. (ball joint splitter or what ever they are called) Mine are jammed on and definitely not coming off without one. So the reason for myself simply removing the hicas piping.
  19. Awseome little cars the old Ford Escorts. This one stands out... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/777515 SR20 GT30 300rwkw.
  20. Not offended. Discussion is good. But a few questions... Where does it state that? I recently purchased some kingston ram for a system, one stick was DOA they swapped it over without hesitation. Antec's has had this problem all along and not just with the grey market. In the past 1yr+ Truepowers Neo's etc some if not most have had crap caps used in them. www.badcaps.net Antec are/were trying to get on top of it if they haven't already. I've built a few systems using the solution series NSK6500 cases, I've had a look at what caps they use in their PSU's and they are decent quality caps. So I am assuming antec has got on top of their dodgy supplier as I haven't seen them use bad caps within the last year. The reason for checking what caps they use.... I've bought Antec TruePowers in the past from the non-grey market that have had their caps go belly up after 1-2years. It was a general antec problem not just antec grey market problem. You can get the DS3P from various sources around adelaide that are not grey importers.. Its all about what stock levels are left at their warehouse. ---- Regarding the seagates expected life... Where did you get that information from? How do you know it will 'really' affect the drives life? They have a 5year manufactures warranty. A company wouldn't be silly as to open them selves up to a massive loss should their drives really only last 2years. Its interesting to note when WD went through their big click of death debarcle they dropped the warranty on the drives from the 5years down to I think its 3years now? With only their raptor drives holding a 5year warranty.
  21. http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=en&...clock&meta= And if you read E4400 reviews you will see 'most' include a section of how it overclocks. Its a lot like winding up the boost. lol http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=642 For example.... At the very bottom is the non-overclocked E4400... Once overclocked to 3ghz it takes out the top spot. They over clock extremely well but there's no need to really push it to 3ghz unless you have done plenty of reading, aftermarket cooling and feel comfortable doing so. A nice over clock to 2.6ghz performs better than a E6600. On par with an E6700.
  22. scandy.... Would you consider clocking it up a little? If so then by all means look at the E4400 and push it up to E6600 speeds which is very easily and safely done. It would however require a little reading on your behalf. Pull $100 off the price if you are willing to clock it up. You'd then buy the E4400 CPU instead of the E6600. Especially if the tax man isn't so generous; $100 is $100 and you have to draw the line some where. It adds up quickly with the larger monitor and larger hard drive when retaining the top line gfx card. As Madaz has shown you can get parts cheaper if you order online but thats up to you. DOA 'can' be an issue, with a part purchased locally you can simply swap it over. I prefer Antec Cases they are nice looking, don't rattle and don't cut you. http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=96500
  23. lol yer it was late.. I stuffed the price. I origionally had a E4400 in there and erm forgot to update the price with the E6600. E4400 is great if you wish to clock it up; clocking up on these C2D's is easy and safe. The only issue with itelestate is they are interstate.. scandyflick being not so cluey it would be best he buys within SA for warranty issues. Absolute pain in the arse sending items back via post should it be DOA and waiting to receive. I steer clear of WD drives; they are quick but I've found they are not so reliable in warm conditions. A cool airconditioned house is a must if you want one to live longer than 1-2years. The dreaded WD click of death. If your not into downloading heaps via file sharing stick with the smaller single 320gb drive. I run more software on my computer than the average user and find around the 320gb mark is plenty. If you are then by all means get close to that 1tb.
  24. Here's a system that I've quickly chosen parts for... To give you an idea of specs.... Its quite a bit more impressive than the Acer. $1720 It is possibly a little overkill for what you may use the system for. You may want to look at...... Slightly slower ram (not noticable), 20" lcd instead of 22", slower vid card that is great bang for buck but still very quick. $1386 Load side by side you will see where I've made the changes. Your saving ~$330 with the lesser spec system, not a great deal. I'd go around a few computer shops and have a look at the 20" ws and 22" ws (widescreen) lcd's and see if you think its worth the extra $70 or so for the larger lcd. Then weigh up if you need the faster DX10 videocard for another ~$200. Do you have the time for games?
  25. They are a bolt up job.. Just need to slide on the suitable disks while your there.
