  1. They are open, but im lead to believe there is a rule stating that the car entering has to have sold so many 1000's before hand? Could be wrong but i heard that somewhere. Isnt that why Holden didnt enter the Monaro? Wonder how a worked XR6T would go.
  2. Im surprised you havnt been flamed yet. For a start, there is about 10,000 threads on this forum with your answer. Some with detailed pics, and installations. But then i see you have two posts Anyway, if your on a budget, then look 2nd hand maybe, or chinese kits. But be wary, some of the chinese kits have fitting issues and can be a pain in the ass. Theres always Just Jap too (www.justjap.com) they have a range of different coolers available. And they also have fantastic support on their products. If you wanna spend up, any big name brand works a treat. Perfect fitting and have everything you will need. Personally i use the Blitz LM Kit. It uses the stock intercooler piping and requires no modding/cutting of the chassy, and slightly shorter I/C pipes.
  3. What are you kidding? Can you not see the focus on 2000RPM, 20-40km/h, 7000-8000rpm, and 110volts and 180km/h?? Poor example
  4. x2. They have big buggers in there. Had the same problem.
  5. LED's focus the spread too much giving hot spots like in the photo. Had them in my stock speedo cluster and it pissed me off alot, so went back to stock bulbs. They spread evenly.
  6. Hasnt caused me any problems and its been done for months.
  7. The bottom line is, the temp gauge shouldnt move unless the car is warming up from cold, or worst case, everheating! The thermostat controls the temp and keeps it at "operating temp".
  8. If you didnt notice, the people saying they dont have them got them installed elsewhere. Its not their faul the place was lazy.
  9. Ah yeah my bad, meant to mention that. It wasnt on in that photo for other reasons. Was figuring out what to do with the water line etc. But it was on there soon after no problems.
  10. LOL! What dump pipe did you get exactly? I had a JJR split type originally and the turbo heat shield fit perfect with it. As it was nowhere near the dump pipe itself. But the dump pipe shield, obviously does not. As the OEM dump has brackets to support it EDIT: It looked like this And i can 100% guarantee that the turbo shield fits!
  11. Brace the manifold! It looks like one of the cheap chinese ones floating around and they tend to crack. Also, one of the welds at the flange splits when they get heat cycled alot. So keep an eye on it. If it is not a cheap chinese one. Disregard.
  12. The only thing i find with "tightening them as tight as you can", is that they seriously start to dig into the rubber/silicon joiners hard. The leave huuuge indents and start to tear And having a ghey RB25 with the Jpipe you have to remove it often to get to plugs/coilpacks easily ha
  13. It will still fit the turbo. They were just lazy. I had mine off for a while when i painted them up, and the underbonnet temps skyrocket. It makes a pretty big difference. Plus the stock turbo looks shit anyway
  14. No worries. Its generally what i do You could be a cheeky bugger and call a wrecker and ask for a price list for the parts
  15. Best bet would be to have a look on ebay and see what the listed items generally sell for. And if you want quick sales.. knock a few pennies off to make yours more attractive
  16. Yeah i guess you are right. I kinda thought of that after i posted and expected a flaming. But the thing is, i dont think the Jappa's care that much. When they export i dont actually think they had a law saying they couldnt do it. So they never bothered doing the the tidy up. My dad bought an RB20DEt Cefiro in 1992, 1st one in NZ apparently. The thing went like the f**king clappers with "42,000km" on the clock. In the 5 years he owned it, it did in two turbos and a transmission, and the AC caught fire. LOL!. And i think he had to replace every bush in the front suspention, and, the HICAS light flickerd all the time. He knew he'd been had.
  17. Thats rubbish. Its pretty easy to see if the KM are genuine by the general wear and tear of the interior. If you buy a car with 50K km on the clock, and the steering wheel is worn down to the nub, the carpet is worn to the metal, and the corners of the pedals are gone, then your a twat for thinking its genuine.
  18. I dont think its a Brembo thing. Its more a 4pot/6pot problem. Theres about 1 million threads on SAU about people trying to eliminate squeaky brakes in Skylines.
  19. Buggered if i can find the thread, but someone on here put a muffler on the screamer pipe. It looked pretty cool. But i dont think there was a sound vid when i read it. Anyone know what the thread was called??
  20. Def looks like a temp sensor. Wow they did a great job hacking the shield!
  21. Depends on what side of the scam your on tho doesnt it? Its a beauty scheme if your doing the scamming, but not so much to the poor guy that buys a 40,000km R34 with 160,000km on the seats.
  22. This is what i wanted to do. But i would much prefer a Toshi remap with the road tune he does. I was a bit wary of just telling him my mods list and getting a re-map. He was asking for the temps i get over in NZ etc. He even said it would need to be dyno'd and touched up as required anyway. So theres more cost for that option If he flew over however..
  23. What are you kidding? An SAFC2 goes for $300 Max. Install is a piece of piss, and even if you do have to pay for an install, it only cost $150ish. So $450 all up. And your still short $1000+ for a Power FC and hand controller. Not to mention they seem to cost over $1000 for a full tune. If your lucky they do go for cheaper but they dont seem to come up that often.
  24. Sounds like a loom issue! Like a loose wire possibly, or one of the joints that was re-con'd has failed sortof?
  25. Not everyone has $1000's to spend on an ECU plus another $1000 for a tune tho. The SAFC will work fine for his needs. The actuators arent too hard ti find. You just need to keep an eye open! Or try a local Nissan wrecker
