  1. I would appreciate it if you did report back And i will do the same. I might go down and start the car up tonight and see if it will smoke again too.
  2. Feels more like fabric. But its definitely not the same material they use in the pods, that i expected it to be.
  3. I think i have a very similar problem. So not hi-jacking, just adding This morning when i started the car up after only been sitting overnight, i went out as usual. Engine still "cold" as in only traveled approx 700m (3-4 sets of lights). At one set i noticed a rather large cloud pass me. Thought.. bah dirty f**ker in the car behind me. 2nd set of lights i take off as you normally do when its cold, and happened to look in my mirror to see a cloud puff out of my exhaust. ( I think it was mine) Was straight onto open road driving, never saw another puff. Did some heavy deceleration in multiple gears, and some hard revving on the spot with a mate watching. Nothing at all. Then some very heavy boosting with him watching also. Nader. Have yet to try it again from cold, and take off any piping to check for oil. But i will, and will report back on my findings too for reference. Mine is a 98 R33, 62,000km running 10psi via R32 actuator. (usual mods, fmic/3" turbo back) My PCV and breathers are routed to a catch can, atmo vented. I have my fingers crossed its the turbo. Id rather replace that than do the valve stems? Or am i over estimating the cost of doing so?
  4. AFM's arent too fond of oiled filters. I also use the Apexi panel filter. Seems to do the trick.
  5. Angle grinder and a sharpie (and ear muffs and eye protection of course ) Its not a hard job, just takes time.
  6. Modded it to fit. Took a lot of time and trial fitting to get it fitting right. But ended up getting it to fit very snug. Gave it a coat of black and you barely notice that its been done.
  7. I did similar. Had an R34 SMIC on my R33 and even after short bursts, both end tanks would be very hot to touch. And like it was mentioned, some days it felt great, others it felt ass. Ended up splashing out for the Blitz LM FMIC. So pretty much the same as the JJR, but not shiny and fits better (but cost 10,000,000times more! hah ) Doesnt matter how hard i push it now. Even on the track, the "hot" side was only marginally warm to touch, and the cold side was ice ice baby. And to be honest, i didnt notice and loss in throttle response.
  8. Yeah i think fullsiick26 has the idea. Most of the cheaper CF bonnets etc dont have an overly good clearcoat on them. If it goes yellow i dont think there is any magical product to take it off I think its the clear breaking down. You could try a 2000grit wet sand and polish maybe.. but i wouldnt risk it. Save up some coin and get a uber high quality/hard wearing clearcoat for it You will love yourself.
  9. You are wasting your time. You will need all sorts of bits and pieces, and then the car will run like absolute crap and use 10,000,000L fuel /100km. Just buy a non turbo Skyline if you MUST have a Skyline. Wait out your 12 months then buy a turbo equipped one.
  10. How bad is the leak? If its not really that bad i wouldnt bother. You just have to clean it off later
  11. Well it is really. If it was so important dont you think someone else would have tried it? Like a Japanese tuner? How exactly would the piping be shorter anyway? It still has to travel to the same place. All your doing is having a smaller core to fill. So you would actually have more piping really. To cover the distance that the core didnt take up?
  12. I think your being a little pedantic dont you?
  13. wouldnt the flow be the same? Or are you just talking about for the radiator flow? If its not broke, dont fix it
  14. What exactly do you need the room for? You say it will free up space, sure. But it will only free up a bit on one side. Then you will fill the other side up with a thicker radiator + thermo fan. Civics come with a half size standard, so do the CTR's. Integras have full size ones, and people do change to thicker half sized ones in them too and dont have issues. (Turbo setup wise) I dont see why it wouldnt work, but it seems pointless. You'd probly want to make up some sort of shrouding to direct the air towards it too.
  15. Seeing as you fixed the problem, i dont mind posting. Want to buy some of these? ............ ,,,,,,,,,,,,
  16. Nothing that i have noticed.
  17. Its possible that you put too much coolant into the overflow bottle when the radiator was changed/flushed etc. To test that theory, drain the overflow completely. Then re-fill it to the MAX mark. If it keeps doing it after that, then you have other problems. Like possibly the radiator cap isnt allowing the water to be sucked back through when the car cools. My old Hiace did that. When it got hot, it would push coolant into the overflow as normal, but when the engine cooled, under less load, freeway driving, or the key was off, it was not drawn back into the engine. So of course the bottle was slightly more full than it used to be. Repeat this a few times, and bang. Your overflow is full and, overflowing Eventually you will run it dry and cook the engine. So keep a close watch.
  18. I think the question had been answered more than once already.
  19. Here is mine with a full 3" Turbo back system, Decat, and HKS Hi Power "Silent". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NhhmY5TrH0
  20. I cant be 100% sure, but the earlyer non-Vspec R32 GTR's share the same brakes as the R33 GTSt, possibly the 32 GTSt too. Maybe you could go into a wrecker and have a look at some?
  21. If your not into anything too serious at the track, then you will more than likely struggle to drive out of your stock braking capabilities if your car is mainly stock itself performance wise. IE Stock turbo + bolt ons.. This of course, if you have good pads and fluid. Standard rotors will also be fine. Tires do wonders too You cant go past a decent set of tires. They improve braking a hell of a lot.
  22. Its an aftermarket front pipe, but stock dump. To make it quieter, you COULD butcher it and put in different mufflers.. But that would be killing a JDM goodness exhaust Sell it and buy something quieter.. Trust PE2 arent as loud.
  23. Hey guys. Struggling to find any good information regarding Tein Type NR suspension for R33 GTSt. The only thing i have found is that they are 4 level cir clip adjustable height wise. Are they semi decent shocks/springs? I currently have Tein springs on stock shocks. Would it be a good upgrade? Im guessing its an old style seeing as im struggling to find info on them. Cheers!
