I have a mate who is having problem with his Attesa system on his 33 GTR V Spec. His car is in constant 2WD and he is frying his rear tyres when he puts his foot down and the car comes on boost. He has done some of the diagnostics on it and thought it was the Attesa computer, but I lent him mine out of my 33 VSpec and it didn't make a difference. He said that it reset itself and started working when he plugged my in but then stopped working again. He then put his computer back in and it did the same thing. I asked him to look at the torque split gauge and he said that it sits at zero. Any ideas?

I am about to pull the engine out of my GTR soon to get it rebuilt. For you guys that have been there and done it already, I would like to know what weight rating should I get for each? The engine stand needs to be able to hold the engine with all the running gear on it (turbos, plenum etc). I Guess the crane would need to be able to lift the engine and gearbox. Are there any brands that you recommend, places to buy them from, things to look out for? I am in Sydney.

Radiator Leaking Trans Fluid...help?
Deano45 replied to RB_GURL's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you are talking about the radiator, then it won't leak transmission fluid, it will leak radiator coolant. What colour is the fluid? Is is watery or slightly oily? If it is transmission fluid, it could be from the power steering pump or lines and if your car is an auto it could be from that or the transmission cooler that normaly sits in front of the radiator. -
My brother is going to look at home and see if he still has his from when we pulled his intercooler off. I'll let you know.
-
Yeah that is correct, you will have to remove the rear seat and parcel shelf to get to the bolts.

engine or brake caliper paint. Just rough up the shiny surfaces first with wet and dry to get the paint to bond properly (end tanks and top/bottom of core).

That's the radio aerial switch. It will either set you aerial all the way up or half way up if the radio is on, depending on the position. That's provided it's connected.

When browsing from behind a proxy server, I find that I can't get to sau, but from a browser without proxy it is fine. With IE I get either the page connot be displayed or a blank page saying done. With FireFox I regularly get the following error message: Content Encoding Error The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Nathan

Mate have a look through the forums. There is heaps on this, including diganostics for your aircon unit. Sounds like it could be the blender motor (thing that moves the flap to change from hot to cold air). If could be a few other things too. Find the article on how to do the diagnostics and start from there.

K&n Style (oiled) Air Filters Not Good For Skylines ?
Deano45 replied to Wacky Dee's topic in General Maintenance
As keymaker mentioned earlier in this thread you spray the element with electrical contact cleaner. If that doesn't fix them, the other thing that could be wrong with them is that you have dry/cracked contacts between the meter and the plug. There are threads on how to fix this, but a quick summary. If you open up the square cover on the AFM and re-solder the pins, it may fix the problem. Then re-silicone the cover back on to waterproof it. Did this on my brothers car to fix them. -
There is stuff you can buy that chill the metal (which it will shrink) and hopefully loosen it for you. Or Maybe try using some WD40 or similar to penetrate the threads. You can't refill a GTR gearbox through the top as you have the transfer case to fill also.

Don't believe so, as I have a subscription to it and haven't been notifued of anything different. Used to get the Ignition DVD with it too, but it doesn't seem to come with it anymore.

Ordered quite a few parts from them, never had any problems. If you choose the airmail option, items show up quite quickly if they have them in stock.

Looks like a touch key immobilizer i.e. have to touch the key to the socket before you can start the car
-
Yep, sounds like the heater core. Any radiator place should be able to get/make you one up. There are plenty on threads on here about it and how to replace it. It's a big job though as the whole dash and heater box need to come out to replace it. It's cheaper if you can do it yourself.

Problems With Dns ?
Deano45 replied to Penfold's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
I got a redirection saturday morning to godaddy.com saying that the domain was parked -
no just the one, you merge the vacuum lines to the top of the blow off valve or they give you a block off for one of the lines. Haven't had any problems with it either. Only put it on as I didn't have the stock ones and didn't want a vent to atmosphere BOV.
-
Yeah it fits. There is a kit that you buy to go with it to fit it on to the R33 GTR. Direct bolt on with the kit. I've got one myself, as when I bought the my 33 GTR car it had a turbosmart megasonic on it. If nengun don't sell the kit, I believe greenline do.
-
Both the same size. Made by the same company calsonic. I know this for a fact as my brother and I had our intercoolers off when upgrading them and compared them (he has a 32 GTR, I have a 33 GTR). They are identical.
-
The HKS kit has a shorter rubber connector pipe for the front turbo to the AFM (The stock one is longer). I had the same problem. You can either try to find one of these at the wreckers (32 & 33 are the same) or I went and bought a 70mm (2 3/4") silicon hose, a short length of pipe and some hose clamps to extend it.

Don't go Flaming people when you havent been on these forums for long. Have a look at when Chris joined the forums and the number of posts he's made. He's helped numerous people out on these forums and written DIY's on various things. Also as he mentioned he does this stuff for a living. Have a little respect for others on here.
